  1. I think this should be their approach to the demolition:
  2. Thats a funny way to put at it. We could use Delirium as demo but wait....We'd have to wait forever for new huss parts .
  3. "Cranes? We don't need no stinkin' cranes!"
  4. they "HAD" in 2007 (or was it 2008) where they had sliders dressed as zombies in twead suits. also in earlier years of urgent scare, it "HAD" an outdoor section before & after the hospital which made the maze make more since that a virus (28 days/weeks later, the crazies, the walking dead); but w/o its outdoors section, the storyline is kinda lost in that its just a hospital gone wrong. also, do i need mention of worksite???

They put "YOLO" in Full Throttle's promo video. Wow.
  6. Oh, it was on a Facebook post by them, the most recent one about it. Ah. Thank you. I do not go on Facebook, so that is why I was out of the loop. Thanks. Good, don't ever go on it.

In most markets, regional parks don't directly compete with each other - so Cedar Fair can't "lose" many customers to Six Flags. Losing customers to other forms of entertainment and to vacations further from home is probably a bigger worry. Very few people in any of Cedar Fair's markets care what a Six Flags park in Texas is adding. Things can get interesting, though, when markets do overlap. Note that Cedar Point and SF Great America are, essentially, getting versions of each other's 2012 additions for 2013. I can't imagine that Cedar Fair's trademark lawyers are amused about "IgNIGHT" competing with "Luminosity: Ignite the Night".
  8. "Sorry folks, park's closed. Moose out front should have told ya." Actually, he was a security guard when he said that, but with a little persuasion we convinced him to become a ride op for us.

The 2 elements in one loop on Full Throttle is what got me. Love it. The backwards launch reminds me of The Mummy at Universal. YOLO.
  11. 'S'okay. Terp's supervisor often finds his whereabouts to be a mystery, too.

The backwards launch midway through Full Throttle caught me off guard and definitely impressed me - I'd love to see more unique and unusual elements like that on more roller coasters. Great Adventure's "Safari Off Road Adventure", although oddly named, also sounds exciting - the description sounds very similar to Disney's "Kilimanjaro Safari" attraction, and it'll definitely make a great "new" family attraction at the park.

I was just wondering if anyone out there is really good at any of the carnival games at the parks. I was wondering about the rope chain one where you try to climb up the rope without falling, what's the trick??? I'm pretty solid at Bank a Ball (rebound). I can put it in about 50% of the time. My house is littered with stuffed animals from it. Here's a video I just put up. (puppy head bunt at the end is the best part )Any other ringers out there?
  14. Dear Kings Island, Six Flags is removing The Rattler and building Iron Rattler in the same year. Make this happen. Sincerely, KIC
  15. ^^Thats what happens when you dont pay your parking fee.
  16. Thank you, Morse. Dit dit dit...
  17. CoasterGeek101 made BB1 be reminded of his number 1 memory of my 1st haunted house experience. I made 1 pun, which led to another1, and then he made a "scarer" into 1 "laugher" which made every1 laugh at 1 point or the other. (As you may see 1 is my favorite, and most FUN number) English please.
  18. If the moon was made of spare ribs, would you eat it? I know I would, and I'd polish it off with a nice, tall Budweiser.
  19. How can we know, really? There's not enough data being sent back to now from the future to be able to form an opinion as to whether it is or not.
  20. I can ride all day err day. (Don't really talk like that, but I found it necessary in this situation!) As stated before, this is probably due to my young age.
  21. I rode FD 15 times in a row 2 years ago. I could of kept going too but their was atleast one person in each spot after that and we would have to go back though whole line. I can take pain on coasters to as of right now. Which would explain my name. Like TheCrypt I can ride all day.
  22. Never. I could ride coasters all day, although that may be due to a smaller height/younger age or something.

I could see it coming into AZ with a re-vamp..but we'll have to wait and see I guess.
  24. ^As I am aware of, no. If it is true or not, we will find out after this weekend.
  25. Maybe they should buy the trains from Disaster Transport. Oh, wait a sec......they want speed, right? Forget I suggested it.
  26. It's considered a good thing when the trains both stay on the track and do not overturn.
  27. Oh, it was on a Facebook post by them, the most recent one about it. Ah. Thank you. I do not go on Facebook, so that is why I was out of the loop. Thanks.

SF seems to be doing some cool things. Iron Rattler looks awesome! I like the hybridization of these older, rough wooden coasters. Seems to me that SF was very happy with the New Texas Giant to do a second project. Full Throttle is interesting, the backwards launch seems weird to me as it isn't for a major section of the ride, yet I bet it will be cool riding on it. igNIGHT seems like SF's Luminosity, I have to wonder if it will top it or even come close. I also like the attention placed on waterparks, and Black Hole of Doom 4D, if done right, could be a great slide.

The FULL Zero G Roll (In your face Outlaw Run) surprised me on Rattler.

Iron Rattler looks like an amazing ride, it almost depresses me that KI couldnt have done something with Son of Beast like that. Full Throttle looks.....interesting, but nothing huge to me. Sky Screamer looks like the ride I would want to try the most being terrified of heights.

Full Throttle looks like a fun ride but to me having it at SFMM seems a little off. It seems like another filler coaster a year after they got a filler coaster. I think this ride really could have stood out more at SFNE or even SFGAm than at the mountain. I just can't see this pulling huge crowds still two or three years down the line. Iron Rattler looks like it could be incredible and the new safari adventure at SFGAdv looks like it could be a great addition/remodel.
  32. Remember, if you do go for an after glow party at your local tavern, make sure you do not drink and drive. Police will be on the look out, as they always do at that time of night for drivers that have had too much to drink. You do not have to be falling down drunk to be arrested for impaired driving. So be safe and do not get behind the wheel.
  33. I didn't know for sure lol. Was not here from '07 to '11 cuz I was away in NM with the Air Force.

And today will be a Six Flags day. More fun!
  35. If it is rolled out to more parks, as seems likely, I would imagine that perks and levels will be separate for each park. (i.e. a visit to Cedar Point probably isn't going to help you level up at Kings Island) Each park has its own prices, potential "perks", guest spending habits, season pass visit frequency, etc.
  36. Hopefully he doesn't hear about the dollar-per-game event at KI...
  37. Prototype or not people still love this coaster, which I will continue to call overrated.
  38. Isn't the opening night for 2013 a little far away?
  39. "Tallest and fastest wooden coaster in northern California." My response?
  40. You can confirm you'll work at Kings Island, no?
  41. I knew this topic would come up. I want to go sooooooo bad! The problem is you can play some games, and have a slice of pizza under 5 bucks... then you have to pay for Fast Lane....
  42. Oddly enough, I'm getting nostalgic about the loss of Disaster Transport. (I've never seen Space Spiral open even once in the visits I've had between 2005 and 2011. I haven't made it to Cedar Point this year.) It wasn't the most thrilling ride, and I didn't love it that much. For some reason, though, rides like DT, CCMR, Magnum, Gemini, Wildcat, Iron Dragon, Corkscrew, etc. all tend(ed) to define CP for me, at least in the years I've known it. That's not to say that Millennium Force and Top Thrill Dragster aren't great rides--don't get me wrong. (Millennium's one of my favorite steel coasters, as a matter of fact.) I just think one of the things I liked the most about the place was that you have super-modern record-breaking rides like those, but then you've also got these really unique rides from the 60's-80's that are part of how Cedar Point got its current reputation. Maybe I'm the only one to whom that matters, but it's part of what I enjoy about the place. That's also not to say that I'm not excited for Gatekeeper, either. I really like the name and creative use of the ride's location. (Name haters, let's face it: the ride's an adornment for the front gate. Cedar Point's got this reputation as the coaster park in the Midwest, at least with almost anyone I've ever encountered who knows about the place. Having a coaster built into the entrance of the park is a no-brainer.) The wing coaster style is practically unheard of around here by the average park guest, and it looks like it will likely eat through lines, which is something Maverick, which seems to me to still be riding its "newest coaster in the park" popularity, is lacking. Or here's hoping Gatekeeper pulls some the lines away from that ride, anyway. I guess what I'm trying to say is that this is bittersweet for me, much like the removal of The Crypt.
  43. I'm sure KI's approach to SOB is nothing to see here.
  44. My guess is that one of you is right.

Cedar Fair is under new management. Past performance may or may not indicate future performance. Even in the past, announcements have varied widely.
  47. Couple of my favorites: Talking about The Racer: Really? What's Boomerang Bay, Splash Works, Water Works, etc...?
  48. While waiting in line for the Lion Country Safari, it was announced that the trains' air conditioning was not working. I asked the ride op how hot it was on the train. He answered, "About as hot as Africa - makes the ride more realistic".
  49. Lemme guess: your hair is now flourescent pink?
  50. Best night I've ever worked. Even with credit cards down, nobody swore/yelled/threw anything at me. Amazing.
