  1. More than three hours to get the riders off the ride. Quite frankly, these stops are happening far too frequently, the evacuations are taking far too long. This is simply not acceptable. Were I CEO, I'd strongly be considering removing these rides and filing suit against the manufacturer.

  6. Oh he's serious all right. There was once a member named the abominable snow man, well needless to say he tried to steal one of Snowmans lines...and you know... I don't think anyone knows exactly where he went...Some say he got bored of the forums, others said he used Internet Explorer instead of Chrome, I however think....well... I don't wanna say cause I don't know wanna get on his bad side...but uh... it is getting kinda colder out isn't it? Perfect weather for...a snowman.... or something....

  8. Don't you dare even think about that. I don't like Graeter's very much... Would it be bad for me to say I would prefer a pile of rocks in place of it? Well not that bad. I mean, you'll be banished from Cincinnati, but other than that, it's no big deal.

  15. The removal of SOB isn't gonna be free. I wouldn't expect any major ride announcement for Kings Island next month. As for the article, it had me in tears from laughter. The weather this summer was agreeable? It was the hottest summer on record, lol. Gas prices weren't too high? What planet is he on?

  17. Thats exactly what my dad and I brought up this morning while watching the news. Im a Type 1 diabetic and I could not imagine being up there while having a low sugar. In my eyes, that is the biggest problem with these malfunctions, what could happen to people while being up there. I hope they get this fixed soon!

  19. ^^ I don't know the exact details of how WS works, but I believe the explanation of why it take 3 hours is a "standard" homing out issue: When a malfunction occurs, the machine needs to be reset manually. Certain things need to occur for the machine to reset & for auto cycle to be restored. In this case, WS needs to complete it's cycle to the top manually, engage a safety (or process) switch, and then manually lowered- and when using a hand crank, for a device that is 300' in the air, and weighs quite a bit, it is gonna take a good amount of time. It's gonna sound funny, but I am led to believe this entire process is in the spirit of safety. Hopefully, these occurances will be solved in the near future (I give it one year) for the process to be improved where it does not take as long to reset. If not, I can't imagine these rides surviving. It also would not surprise me to hear about lawsuits being filed in the hopes of taking the blame of these incidents off the shoulders of the parks and pinning it on the manufacturer, but even that course of action is a double edged sword for the park(s).

  20. According to the promotional signage in the video, SoB was going to be "The World's Tallest, Fastest and ONLY LOOPING Wooden Roller Coaster on the Planet!" So, not only was it the world's tallest, fastest, and only looping wooden roller coaster, it was also the tallest, fastest, and only looping wooden roller coaster on the planet. Impressive.

  29. ^ That's a revenue chart... also essentially known as profit. If the largeness of the Cedar Point slice indicates more fun, then the only reason Cedar Point is more fun than the rest is because you helped make it that way by purchasing admission/food/whatever.

  30. Insert random post about American's with Disabilities Act and the fact that the IR does not have an elevator accessible from International Street. It does however have a freight elevator in the backstage area. I would say it either replaces Cinnabon or the Pretzel shack.

  35. In the past on FOF, I've handed stuff like bags and souvenir cups to the ride operator checking restraints. They take them and put them on shelves at the back of the station (what TTD-120-420 referred to; not visible from the queues). After getting off, head down the hall until you see a sign pointing to the left for "Item Storage and Pickup Area" (also the Fast Lane entrance). Your items will be waiting there. I've never been told that I couldn't bring something in line on FOF.

  37. Flight of Fear lets you ride with bags. You have to put them on the floor of the train so the annoying ankle restraint holds it down. Also, I do not know if it was for employees or what, but if you walk to the left as you enter Flight of Fear's station there is a gap that has shelves. We were told to put our stuff in the shelves earlier this summer...

  38. 3+ hours to evacuate is not safe. Just imagine if someone had a heart attack when the ride stopped, or if someone particularly sensitive to sun exposure was riding. When (if?) I ride a WindSeeker again, I'll definitely make sure I've had enough to drink and am wearing sunscreen as appropriate. Getting stuck up there at midday could cause quite a sunburn. I think it's pretty safe at this point to assume that the unannounced Cedar Fair 2013 capital expenditures will not include more WindSeekers. They need a lot more than a free admission if Cedar Fair hopes to ever see them again. They've had a day of their trip ruined, and admission is far from being the only cost involved. At a minimum, they should be reimbursed for all costs associated with their visit, including gasoline and any lodging. If I were the park's GM, they'd also be getting platinum passes and a one-day ticket to Disneyland.

That person ought to be run out of town on a rail, the kind of rail soon to be removed in all the awesome pictures that will be featured on this thread... the one about demolition pictures! did I get us back... on track?
