New Test Track... Absolutely fantastic. Done very much in the forward-thinking optimism of EPCOT Center (pre-Epcot'94), much to this vintage EPCOT fanboy's delight. Jenn and I are heading to the VIP Media Preview events for New Fantasyland and Test Track later this week and I will try to get a PTR up early next week.6 points

I just added a second article to the original post. In it, the mother says minors cannot be responsible for their actions. Really? Is GE responsible if her daughter touches a hot GE stove?5 points

Anyone have any update/ fix yet? Being stuck in "mobile version" on a desktop is like wet underwear- it can be dealt with, but everytime you move, you can't forget it is present.4 points

I can't get the article to load, but I feel compelled to respond to this anyway: If minors cannot be responsible for their own actions, then why do we have juvenile court systems? Why do schools suspend misbehaving students? If my 13-year-old self was not responsible for punching the assistant principal in 7th grade, I wouldn't have spent the next two years on probation. Give me a break.3 points

Hey Guys! Just wanted to let you guys know about a cool new thing on Google Earth. If you go to Kings Island and put the little "street view" character on a path in the park, you can act view it like a normal street view image and "walk around" the park. It's pretty neato as the pictures are very high quality and they seem to be quite recently taken. I first noticed this feature with amusement parks when i was looking at Busch Gardens Williamsburg and tried it out. Just today I've looked and seen that Kings Island, Cedar Point, Michigan's Adventure, Dorney Park, California's Wonderland, World's of Fun, and Canada's Wonderland (which were taken during the beginning construction of Leviathan). And thats just the Cedar Fair parks. I think its prettty cool and think you guys should go check it out! Hope ya like it, DBI2 points

At first I thought that this was about odd happenenings at WallyMart.... Yes I have had times to where this does that with the weather, shutting down every ride, which is usually water rides, and really messing up my day......until I went to Chipotle and Natorps soon after, then I found peace.2 points

It's entirely different. The old one was a testing facility with cut-out trees, environmental tests, orange traffic cones, and an on-board narrator who set up each individual test, discussing anti-lock brakes, power steering, etc. as you "played the role of a crash test dummy." The new version of the ride is not about being put through the paces on individual automotive tests, but about designing your "own" car and seeing how it handles in broad concepts like "energy," "speed," "maneuverability," etc. in a virtual environment The look is VERY "Tron" now and there's no indication that you're in a giant testing facility. Instead, you may as well be inside a computer, racing down day-glo highways past cities of the future (and people are calling it Tron Track). In other words, the only comparison between old Test Track and new Test Track by Chevrolet is the track layout. And like so many nearly-pitch-black dark rides (which Test Track now is), it's impossible to sense the scale, detail, or environment It's just too dark, and the effects on the new version of the ride can't be captured easily on film. I'll say that the one part I miss was the final test - on , it was the "barrier test," where you pass a car whose front end is completely smashed it as if it just accelerated directly into a wall like on all of the commercials. You see a video of a car running head-on into a barrier and the test dummies inside slam forward as the front of the car implodes. Then, you turned the corner and saw the wall in front of you. Just as blinding halogen lamps turned on, you accelerated at the wall, only to have it open at the last second as you blast outside. Now, on , it's simply a "power boost" with no impending doom or anxiety from having seen / recognized the barrier test. Watching those two videos, by the way, shows the exact same length of track and just how different they are between the two rides. Wow. It may as well be an entirely new ride!2 points

Just got back from Magic Kingdom from over Thanksgiving. The new Fantasyland built on what use to be 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea is now partially open! http://www.wdwmagic....e-map/17559.htm They hurried the construction and it opened two weeks early. Enchanted Tales with Belle, Under the Sea-Journey of the Little Mermaid, Aerial's Grotto and Be Our Guest Restaurant are all now open and spectacular. Seven Dwarfs Mine Train is still under construction. If you haven't been in a while, it is well worth the trip! pilotank .1 point

So last night I couldn't sleep. As usual when I can't sleep, I watch something on Netflix. Recently, I just started watching Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. I was a huge fan of Star Trek: The Next Generation growing up and I've seen Star Trek: Voyager all the way through, so finally watching Deep Space Nine seemed like a good thing to do. So far the series has been good. Last night, I started season two around 5 AM. The episode, entitled "The Homecoming" deals with Major Kira going to the planet Cardassia to rescue prisoners of war from her planet. Herself and Chief Miles O` Brien infiltrate a Cardassian Labor Camp. The episode aired on September 26, 1993. Here's a still from the episode: Recognize anything familiar? Probably not. In a way I'm a bit embarrassed to mention that I noticed this, but it's still kind of interesting. In the above image, the random sphere objects at the "labor camp" can be seen in person at Kings Island: Flight of Fear was constructed during the peak of Paramount's ownership, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine was a Paramount Television show. I just thought it was interesting that whoever designed the Flight of Fear queue may have had access to Star Trek props - or maybe the spheres are just some kind of stock item that get used constantly. Anyway, yeah the nerdiest thing I've ever written, but here's your useless information for the day! Also, the altered photographs were taken by Don Flint of KIEXtreme.com, used with his permission, give his site a visit!1 point

Admissions is a great place to work at. You will be involved in scanning tickets at the front gate, collecting parking tolls, processing season passes and selling admission tickets and season passes. If you love working outside and don't want to be tied down to one area all day, choose sweeps in ecology. Plus it pays more than any other area in the park. My very first job working at Kings Island in 1972 was as a "litter getter" as we were called back then.1 point

I worked in Guest Services/Admissions and a 16 year old can work in admissions but must be 18 for Guest Services. They can work in foods, merchandise, ecology, games, rides (some restrictions), admissions just to name some. I am sure the jobs link will be fixed soon but you can still apply by clicking on the link to Online Application. They will list your job preferences for you to choose from. You will select your first, second and third choice and jobs you will not want to work if any.1 point

It's name should be Tron Track. I might be one of the only ones that liked the warehouse feel, it felt like a Test Track. I don't really know what to make of it now. I think it's going to be a great attraction, but its no longer a Test Track. It's just a design a car attraction where you run the course with nice graphics. IMO, its boring and in some parts corny. What even is the testing chamber where you went through the heat and cooling tests? I miss that.1 point

What'll ya have? What'll ya have? What'll ya have? BB1, enjoy the reviews, but me thinks you're way too kind. If outback gets a 10 across the board, what the heck are you going to give to a meal at the Precinct? I enjoy City BBQ, especially the brisket, but I'll agree w/ those complaining about their Mac 'n Cheese. Its not bad, but there is certainly nothing special about it. 5 min of prep time, plus however long it takes to boil the noodles, then bake the whole thing together and you can have Mac 'n Cheese that is 10x better than anything you'll ever get at cityBBQ. They used to have good potatoe salad, then they switched from a mustard base to a mayonaise base and its not as good, in my opinion, other than the corn bread, most of their sides are pretty bland. Montgomery Inn ribs are ok. The sauce is great, but the ribs themselves are just OK. I always go for the broiled chicken over the ribs. Ribs at city BBQ are pretty bad. speaking of Atlanta; don't know if it orginated there, but mellow mushroom is making its way (or perhaps already has) to Ohio. always enjoyed the pizza and pretzels from the one in Buckhead.1 point

If only. I really do love the queue and entry doors to the attraction. It fits in really well and some what resembles the Mission:Space queue. But that canopy is just awful and cookie cutter. I'd expect it from Cedar Fair, but not Disney. Other than that and the untouched 'power' circle, Well done Disney. Well Done. It doesn't even look Cedar Fair, it looks like Home Depot ate a bad churro and threw up all over Epcot. It is, however, more acceptable than the Epcot '94 trash that's left everywhere. Innoventions Plaza, I'm looking at you.1 point

I'd expect it from Cedar Fair, but not Disney. Other than that and the untouched 'power' circle, Well done Disney General Motors. Well Done. Fixed that for you. Seriously, though (and I'm one of GM's biggest critics), they get the credit here. They provided the concept, design guidance, and even fabricated most of the set pieces in Warren, MI, before shipping them down to Lake Buena Vista. Even the WDI show producer who was over this project is an outside contractor. Imagineers handled things like ride programming and effects, GM handled the rest.1 point

The only way the new Test Track could have been better is if it was Horizons. Or if they had been able to design it from the ground up instead of being locked into the old track layout. But pretty much anything's better than the "crash-bang-boom-twang" car testing facility of TODAY in FUTURE World... if only they got rid of the canopy, though.1 point

You know what actually makes it the PERFECT time in the season?? Its that all but 2 Northern Ohio schools are still in session on that day!! I do wish they would have it include some kind of ERT on Saturday.... say from 7 or 8 am to 10am.... but other than that I Love the fact its a one day event, and on a Friday. Avatar, Indyguy4KI, and I attempted both days of CM2011, and we ended up going back to the hotel and sleeping for about 3 hours on Saturday afternoon because the Friday ERT until 1am and then coming back for 530am ERT on Saturday was just ludicrous.1 point
