When I first read ERT on here, I thought it was a KIC term for "Everyone Ride Together".9 points

Another one of my great epiphanies..... No track spotted at Batavia yet?....... No problem!......... B&M's latest concoction - the track-less coaster, And King's Island is getting the very first one, a prototype, if you will, called LEVITATION. With no visible track, riders have absolutely no idea what's coming next. It's extra thrilling in the dark - it will make you scream like a Banshee!8 points

ERT is nice and all, but I want other things for the events that make it "special." I can ride the rides anyday and marathon them on some days, some I cannot, but getting tours, behind the scenes, interviews, ect. that's what makes the events special for me. When I get to have a Q&A with a great entertainer like Ed Alonzo, or get to see behind the scenes maintance stuff and interview one like the last KIC event, that was great. Going in and getting shots of rides or going places never/not normally seen, that's awesome. My favorite event was pointbuzz's first CP off season event. We got a tour of WindSeeker, the front half of the park, dragster station sans trains and covered in snow, all the way under the top hat, and back down through PWX and the jungle under iron dragon. Following this we had a beautiful Q&A with Bryan, Becca (she actually started off pretty good haha, then dropped), PB founders, and then eachother, with a bit of slides/ect. We can ride these rides until we can't anymore everyday out of the season, but show us the stuff we can't see that make it different than every other event. Show us the maint. buildings, or get to talk to them, let us go under flight deck (great photo op wouldn't you think), show us inside backlot (it's not a popular ride but how cool would it be to walk in the building of the final run), ect..As enthusiasts we see, know, and ride rides all the time. Give us the cool stuff to make it worthwhile.7 points

My screen name has nothing to do with Patrick Swayze. You will be given a time to be at the park, as well as a location to meet. That's about it. I will not be posting an agenda on here at all. Isn't this FUN?6 points

I would like to see inside of FOF's building. The chances of me going are decently high considering I'll have my license in 2 weeks! Drummer, who advices everyone to stay off of the road!6 points

Wow. The Bier Garten looks really nice from the tower.Sorry :/ Carry on decoding!6 points

Ah, young'uns. Search all you wish online...but some things require a search in person. Not everything available to the public is online.6 points

And people complain about ride ops enforcing Kings Island's two click policy. This is one of many reasons so-called "power hours" have always frightened me. A capacity contest is not worth a life. Ever.5 points

There have been multiple deaths at many parks, including Kings Island. One is too many. Safety is first priority at EVERY park. Period.5 points

About being stuck in 90's its not a bad thing, I mean coney mall is stuck in the 60's and know one complains. Will there be a new land though at the park when x base needs more stuff and restrooms/food to become the next land. Ki is not really lands anymore but one big park, with less theming time and time again:5 points

Diamondback has easily the most sophisticated lap bar safety system in the entire park. Why are we comparing it to Texas giant? B&M has a reputation for building safe and reliable rides. This unrelated event on a very dissimilar ride should not be causing this sudden obsession with the lap bars failing on Diamondback. You will never spend a second in motion on Diamondback without a secured lap bar, so don't worry about it.4 points

The WHIO report says all of the injured have been released, thank God.4 points

I don't mind if the theming is not there...for there is another fantastic coaster with little theming that has a supernatural presence, running through the woods. And that zone is not welcoming to its presence...anymore. But I still foam with adrenaline every time I sit down on its trains at night.4 points

I would estimate that I am 95% sure the new ride will be announced September 8th, which so happens to be the same date as the KICentral event. Being a part of KIC is so cool, and it looks like Don is rolling out the red carpet for us.4 points

Unless you are in a Gentlemen's Club! Yeah KI blew $40.5 million dollars on Crypt and SOB. That doesn't include the removal prices as well.4 points

I've said it before and I'll say it again: it's not just a case of different opinions. It's a case of ramming an opinion in other people's faces. Seriously, try to find a YoungStud post not about Intamin superiority, women (including his "hot wife",) or something not relevant to the thread topic.4 points

How many pages do we need to go through talking about cranes. I get it: Terpy (& company): I gotta find a way to work this out, I love cranes. They are so awesome, I'm ensconced in cranes. You know, if it were socially acceptable-- Tusk: I know, you would drape yourself in cranes. Terpy (& company): I've said that before? Tusk: Many times. You love cranes, you want to live in cranes, everything with the cranes.4 points

With all the trains running, Gemini had the highest capacity of any coaster in the world. The lines flew, you never stopped walking until you got to the station. It was quite amazing.4 points

I've heard the driver spiel specific seat numbers to the operators on the floor, so I'd assume that they can see which seats aren't down far enough.3 points

Depending on where I am, I use a Linux desktop, one of two dual-boot laptops, an Android tablet, or an Android phone. The advantage of the desktop is that it's always on, so it can act as a server or run a task that takes a long time. Compiling code, rendering a video, or recording TV shows would be difficult on a mobile device. I'm usually connected to my desktop via OpenVPN when I'm using any of the other aforementioned devices. Also, when I'm tying more than a couple sentences, I prefer to have a full keyboard on a laptop or desktop. Imprecise mobile keyboards and speech-to-text systems annoy me to no end. Case in point: I recently used speech-to-text to send a message including the word "yellow". I almost lost it when it came up as "YOLO".3 points

I think the Bier Garten remodel has gotten kind of overlooked this season with everything else going on, but it does look amazing.3 points

IndyGuy4KI really wants to know if the ride experience was exactly the same, but had Intamin written on the side of it instead of Vekoma would you be riding it? Funny, in another thread you said you cannot wait to ride maverick when you say that intamin rides does not do anything for you. Just saying. I never said I would not ride them or enjoy them. I also don't remember saying that they don't do anything for me either. Yes, I was very let down by Millie when I rode it for the first time. It has speed I will give it that, but given the air time machines that B&M delivers and the reliability, I will pick B&M over a Intamin every time. IndyGuy4KI really wants to know if the ride experience was exactly the same, but had Intamin written on the side of it instead of Vekoma would you be riding it? Where on the side of Invertigo is Vekoma written? I think it is on a sign by the operator box. I didn't mean for it to be taken literally. It was meant to be like an imaginary brand logo like a Ford logo on a F150, or a Ram head on a Dodge Ram 1500. I think he is to bias towards Intamin to be able to answer. Respectively, if Intamin had made DB with the same exact ride experience I would not love it any little less, although my ride count might be a little less than it is now...3 points

Agreed. Universal's HHN beat them to the punch. The problem here, with CF's HH team, is that they admit to looking at current books, movies, games, etc. etc. for inspiration. To me, this just means they're ALWAYS late to the party. Why get ideas from something already done? They should be leading the pack with original, new ideas that inspire other haunt events. My guess, CF see's HH as a cash grab yet none of the single events will ever compete with the money that a single HHN brings in. They'll learn some day. -TF3 points

Photo eyes=imagine a laser crossing the tracks path, anything crosses it for a period of time, sensor=tripped Limit switch=little tab the train actually comes into contact with and moves These sense where the train is at certain sections of the track, it's how block systems/brake systems work So if it rains, these sensors get hit/blocked, thinks a train is there, when it isn't. It's a safety issue, especially at the trims before the final return loop. Next time you ride, see how many photo eyes are on those things (at night you'll see a red glow) Now the station, this is one of the few manual rides. The train is stopped by each person in controls manually, IE they have to control the braking (which is why you hear the brakes spaz as it goes into the station, or plays "music" lol, I've heard eye of the tiger, or epic double base drums before). Anyways, manual braking & photo eyes, rain, not a good combo. If it skids past, the trains have to be unlocked manually & that's kind of an evac, or it overshoots, and goes into the next block (transfers, which means if it stops there it has to be winched back to station/lift hill), and then sets up the rest of the ride (as soon as a train hits any brakes, it's ganna get stopped). So weather and gemini don't mix.3 points

Tweeted a while ago "@KingsIslandPR: This year's Halloween Haunt will feature two new mazes, a new fear zone and @EdAlonzomagic. New maze details coming soon." New fear zone... Meaning Action Zone could be made into a new fear zone and the new "thing" might be included or incorporated somehow... Hmm. Paranormal... Haunt... It makes sense2 points

Well to be fair, when I first started posting on the site, some probably would have classified me as a troll. Within my first month of being here, I had made my way into two or three peoples signatures and created a thread to petition the correct spelling policy on the site. Lol. But I feel like in my 4-5 years on the site, I have grown into a civilized, productive member and have had a heck of a time getting to know a lot of you. So, first I want to thank the mods for giving me ample chances and not being so quick to ban. Secondly, all new members should think before they post. And all members that have been here for awhile should just chill out a little. I know its hard sometimes, but it'll be alright in the end.2 points
