Everyone take note! A poster made an honest mistake, someone informed them, and it was fixed. It really is that easy! That station looks really nice the way it is coming along.10 points

My name is Lora. People never question it being capitalized. It is my name. When I get mail or my paycheck, all legal documents my name is capitalized. People question how it is spelled. I understand why, it's not the most common spelling. I have gone so far as to have people correct me on the pronunciation of it. (I had a sales person repeatedly calling me Law-ruh. I simply said no, it's Lo-rah. I then spelled out my name and told her my mom just did not know how to spell it.) However, I have frequently had to spell out my name L O R A. I have never had to say "Capital letter L." It's not necessary since it's *my name*. If your name is Jonathan or Devan or Bill or Betty or any other name you expect your name to be capitalized as well. It's not debated. It's *your* name. It is what *you* are identified as. So why is it so foreign of a concept to use capitalized letters for the names rides, companies, amusement parks, etc? Why is this debated? Why question why does it need to be done? Additionally, this forum is free to us. It does not have excessive amounts of rules to follow. The TOS are simple, common sense requests. It is truly sad people argue this when the PR of Kings Island has asked and the ones who run this site and the one who had been given repeated permission to correct it. No one has asked you to do anything beyond common courtesy, respect and to use correct capitalization. It is not about one slip up. It's about the continual and often intentional misuse of trademarked names. I find it sad that this is such a huge issue someone had to create a way to correct this. I think that shows his level of seriousness regarding this matter. If he is being proactive to protect you, respect him and this site enough to use capitalization properly and not debate "why". I always thought it would be cool to have a haunt named Phobia. Base it on common fears, have a section for spiders, snakes, 13, etc.7 points

Dinosaurs Alive! is all a matter of target market. Most coaster enthusiasts are NOT in the target demographic for the attraction. That said, I think it is worth doing at least once, if only to see how well they did isolating it from the rest of the park (unlike some parks that placed it under a 90+MPH giga coaster...). When I walk through that attraction, it truly does feel as if I've left Kings Island. And not in a bad way.7 points

Just posted on Kings Island's Facebook page: (Photo courtesy of Kings Island) https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10152563357463368&set=a.226729858367.174830.155893938367&type=1&theater The station is really coming along!7 points

Sorry if this is already posted on the forums. A quick search didn't return anything. Thanks to a GOCC Facebook post and the Kings Island website...... https://www.visitkingsisland.com/ticket-category/2014-Season-Passes Cedar Point is showing the same for the Platinum Pass..... https://www.cedarpoint.com/ticket-category/2014-Season-Passes Pretty nice benefit of owning a pass since I always wanted to check it out but didn't want to pay the up-charge.6 points

I can't think of the countless hours I'm going to spend under that roof this summer, calmly waiting behind the gates for my turn and NEVER shaking them. Only hoodlums, ruffians, yahoos, hooligans, and no-goodniks shake the gates.6 points

FYI, Track and supports for the new coaster are on site at KK. I would suspect assembly to begin this week.6 points

If anyone would like to continue to beat the dead horse of asking why after its been explained many times, please send me a PM and not continue to flood this thread of off topic discussion. Also if any further posts trying to trick up the code, or purposely modifying text so it won't be caught will be awarded with vacation time. It's about a half a hour worth of programming time, it's not done, and it's not perfect. What it's is though is very annoying to myself and other users.6 points

I hope they start testing soon. Maybe, just maybe they can do it a bit early and have the water jugs come back frozen? lol. j/k. Ride is looking fantastic. Eager to see the station as KI does a great job with their stations on all of their rides. Wondering how "Loud" Banshee will be, like, Raptor/Mantis loud? I will say this. The new restraints are great! Having ridden Gatekeeper a couple of times last year and then riding Raptor the newer restraints are much better. Looking forward to feeling them on an inverted coaster.5 points

I don't post a lot on here. I mostly just read through them, and no offense to anyone but it's getting extremely boring trying to read through all of this for thoughts and information on Banshee and finding nothing but information on capitalization and trademarks. Can we not all just take the extra second to push down the shift key and move on from this.5 points

Oddly enough, Kings Island still has their moving seats, though I doubt they're being used for anything besides spare parts. In December at the ACE Holiday Party, they were sitting outside. Here's the picture I took of them: I've got a weird minor affection for Action Theater. It never was amazing by any means, but I've got a lot of good memories of waiting in line for Spongebob 3D with friends. If there's no film this year, I hope they're able to make use of the space for Haunt--although I'm not fond of another fairly large building only being used 1.25 months out of the year.4 points

Perhaps it's only bigger on the inside. EDIT: Looks like post 800 is a Doctor Who reference. I am OK with this on every possible level. Shocking, isn't it? Are you sure you're not going to mess up any "Timey Wimey" things? I can only hope that Banshee goes ding when there's stuff. Better still if it can boil an egg at 30 paces. Hopefully there are no hens at KI if that happens though... Some coasters go ding before a train launches, so it isn't out of the question.4 points

Yes. Many of KI's coasters did at one time, including Adventure Express.4 points

Got to love the ending... 1. Marcia and Jan run the blueprints from where The Beast is located now to.... 2. Alice who is waiting near the exit to the log ride who runs the blueprints to... 3. Bobbie and Cindy who are near the Sling Shot ride entrance who run the blueprints to.... 4 Greg and Peter near Antique Treats in Coney Island, who run the blueprints to Carol, near Larosa's Pizza on International Street who runs the blueprints backstage (where only employees can go) to Mike at the office. 5. Mike gives the blueprints to the executives who leave for their flight... 6. and....everyone who has been furiously running throughout the park meets up with Mike and Carol at the exact same moment, backstage (where only employees can go)...and no one is exhausted from their marathon, and all but Mike go to ride The Racer (a suggestion that chicken Mike has made!)... Hilarious!4 points

Personally I can't stand Ice Cream. I don't eat Ice Cream or cake. If the cake is made completely out of chocolate and I'm having a good day I might eat it. That's the only exception. If they were to put a set of Flying Scooters in that circle in Action Zone I think Flying Sprites would be a fitting name. I love the idea of Flying Scooters in that spot. Perhaps that's on the 2015 radar. If that is the case, it would make sense to replace it with a plain concrete pad instead of the target thing. And with The Coca-Cola Company as a park sponsor, maybe they could be the Flying Sprites, sponsored by Sprite In response to a previous poster, I hope Banshee is every bit as loud as Mantis. Once that baby hits 68 miles per hour, you're going to hear some serious roar.4 points

Yep....a step in the right direction for adding pass holder benefits. Really hope this continues throughout the park(s).4 points

Say what you will, Son of Beast was probably my favorite ride at KI. ( before the removal of the loop that is) I know few people agree.4 points

One of My favorite part of this is that KI is finally leaving the 90's. That whole decade after Grunge seemed to be a contest to find the brightest and the colors that would most likely fade to a puke-shade in 7-years. The Yellow and Red combo has been out since the Mid-00's and I can't believe it's taken 14' and beyond to realize that.4 points

I feel like I was involved in taking this thread off topic and at least partially responsible for the several posts of people trying to break the filters. For that, I apologize. To help bring this thread back on topic, I noticed when looking on the webcams that Banshee's track color works really well with Invertigo and The Bat's new color schemes. I wonder if management knew anything about Banshee when the decision to repaint Invertigo was made. Whether intentional or lucky accident, each of the coasters in Action Zone look great and they're all really going to pop on the skyline. I can't wait to see them all together from the midway.4 points

I often point to the right when visiting X-Base with friends and say, "This is where they'd put The Bathroom. IF THEY HAD ONE!" Suddenly I have the urge to utilize photo manipulation software to create an image to correspond with this... I believe that this is now a fairly odd post. EDIT: I believe the filter broke my ability to type "bathroom" preceded by "the" without capitalizing due to its first letters being "The Bat". May want to look into that, Dane Of course, bathrooms in X-Base would be a substantial enough addition that it would be worth a trademark and capitalized name.3 points

I want only one thing. It involves a duck named Bob, A Nightmare to Remember, and a razor sharp balloon... Twizzlers... ^ Not necessarily true. My brother got a lights-on ride this past season on his first visit since 2003, and he thought it was a great improvement. That was his second ride on it of the day, too. So it wasn't just a foggy memory talking.3 points
-
Yeah, having the lights on in FoF's spaghetti bowl is only interesting to enthusiasts. For the general public, it ruins the ride.3 points
-
I really like that they are doing this. I also wanted to check out CP's DA but did not want to pay, as I already spend a lot of money while I'm there as it is. I like how it seems pass holders are getting some good perks this season.3 points

When the lights are on, it takes away from the ride experience.3 points

If you can't afford a hotel, just sleep in the car. As an employee, many a night I stayed in the car..especially when pleasing you people during Coastermania..Stayed up late putting the ride to bed and transferring, wake up early to get her ready for y'all One night even got to the ride early and slept in controls lol3 points

I dont think the ebach new slides are rumors anymore, They said on there FB Page that They Would Be Annoucing somthing soon. Ive heard it will be 2 new slides This year. With the Removal of the old Sled Slides (From The Beach On Ice) I could see a Slide going there, And one near/where the old petting zoo was. Has it been mentioned whether the slides will be for adults or tailored to children? It seems like an awfully large expenditure for a park one year out of bankruptcy to have 2 new adult slides. I could see it being two child slides or 1 adult slide. Remember that the company that owns The Beach now is not the same one that filed for bankruptcy. The new owners own family entertainment centers across the nation, and as such have deeper pockets and the ability to spread the contents of those pockets around their various holdings unevenly, much like Cedar Fair might do with a big coaster here, a large flat ride there, and just general park improvements over there.3 points

I personally think that Club Blood needs to be taken out next... I like the maze itself it's just old and run out. It isn't really scary but I do like the effects in it. I just think it needs to be replaced with something more exciting and scary.. Like the transformation of Mysteria to Board to Death was amazing! I also think that if they don't referbish the Urgent Scare to what it was like when it was first released. I think it would need to go. It was an amazing maze when it was first released, with the scarers outside and all the mechanisms working it was absolutely stunning. Now nothing works and it's all run down. If they don't fix it, it's going to have to leave. Now Holiday Horror... If they don't get some more scarers In there and add some more effects, that's going to have to leave. Kings Island I think is getting a little sloppy with their old mazes. I think that only a few are supposed to be where they are supposed to be(Wolf Pack, Slaughterhouse, Madame Fatales) A lot of people are saying that Wolf Pack is being torn down this year. I honestly hope not. I thought that it made a good comeback this year! The scarers really got me. The scenery made it a little more suspenseful as well! CarnEVIL is an overall good maze. It just needs more scarers and they need to add some more things in it. It has gotten a little boring these past few years. I get scared sometimes, but I mean it could be way better... My point is Kings Island needs to try harder with their Halloween Haunt mazes. They cut over 40 scarers this year, just in the mazes...3 points

French is a big deal in Montreal..moreover the entirety of Quebec. I took two full years of French in High School. Not perfectly fluent in any means, but quite enough to get by and read/write. Learn PROPER phrases (vous, nous, etc.) not Il/Elle. Formality will be important honestly. Among friends, ok, but someone you don't know or in a public setting, use the propers. But biggest thing, learn how to ask questions. If you can put together the subject, tense, and conjugation of verbs correctly, you will look knowledgeable, but that knowledge will make it easy to get the answer, especially if spoken in a proper sense, not slang. Plus if you learn to write it, written questions can help too, as people who normally speak French do it VERY quickly. You may need to have them write it, or if you can't get it down correctly they may be able to piece it together. This really had me thinking..With all the advances in great technologies, society, human limits, etc. We still have to learn how to communicate..astonishing3 points
