  1. The last show was their best show. I have seen the show 20+ (maybe 30+) times and loved the last show the best. What a great way to end this season. They looked like they were having a great time. I am going to miss this show. Thank you cast and crew for making this season a great one!

  5. Well, make this brief for now I want sleep soon, more potentially tomorrow night with some sweet pics/vids Got into the park Fri afternoon about 2000 or so. Got a few rides in, got to pop pedals again even with a little hot headed purple tagging ride op. Watched Lumi and again stunned by how great of a performance it was. Finished the night with a bit more rides, food, and walking around & enjoying the park. Sat: The day of Live Entertainment. CP is THE BEST for Live E in the whole chain this year..hands down. Y'all can love Cirque all you want, it's a fantastic show and probably the best KI has ever had, at least the best in recent years at a minimum. However, just..the packages that CP put into the park just wow. Lets go over all of those as my whole day was basically spent doing this or a few must do rides. Luminosity. Great GREAT set, lighting, effects, performers and SINGERS. The larger male singer has an amazing vocal tone, absolutely astonishing. The female singer during Katy Perry-Roar..just..goosebumps. For performers my favorite is either the main drummer, because he is a badass and has been for years. Up next as a very close second is the female rhythm drummer/tenors is AMAZING. More on her later. However again back to Lumi, just, perfect performance to start the night life for a midnight close, or on a regular close, to leave the park to. Or if you want, stay and DJ Hurrikane has amazing music tracks to dance to. His music Friday was alright, Saturday though he went from the acid house style music Friday to big beats, hard style, and just..awesome. CF knocked this out of the ballpark, just an absolutely fantastic venue. Lusty Lil: Glad to see this show this weekend. AMAZING VOCALS HANDS DOWN. It's def. not the best kid show, it is tame for the younger ones, but def. some adult humor. If your kids have watched Shrek or similar movies before, same deal. The vocals though. CP Lumi was my favorite for the individual talents, however seeing Barbershop Trio/Quartets, improvised vocals, and great harmony vocals, WOW. Neat show this season. Oh and the piano guy is a badass. All Wheels Extreme: For those unfamiliar, it's Cirque stunts without the show. It's basically a group of performers to some neat music being badasses. That is all it is, just badasses doing badassery. The show has improved over the years, the new acts and little things added are really sweet. Frontier Folks: Quick little dry humor shows. It's neat to see these shows that used to be on the Frontier Trail/in the park back. They perform three different shows, three times each (9 events total). It was neat to see the scenarios the sherrif/bandit/girlfriend were involved in. Good guest involvement too! Bluegrass Jamboree: Upright Bass, Fiddle, Guitar, Banjo, Dobros, etc. Perfect group of talented musicians. Finishes the show with Sweet Child O Mine..awesome little concert to watch. Clapped almost the whole time and had a foot tap the whole time. Great group of performers. Beach Band: Brass & bass instruments, kind of like the KI Five. Neat group and nice roving show Bum Drums (not sure on name): Group of drummers (including the badass female drummer from Lumi) drumming on a 55 gallon trash can, 5 gallon buckets, and a metal Dolly. Perfect improvised drum show, really neat to watch them do their magic. Lady Sticks: The badass drummer mentioned above has her own show. Has a metal bench with pots & pans that she drums on. She also brings out the audience to dance & drum with her/drum battle. I got to participate, it was pretty hard actually, but alot of fun. Really sweet show. Glass Blowing: The show is in the title, I can't believe people don't know this exists in the park, nor spend the time watching these guys make art in Mordor right in front of you. So all in all, the Live E rocks this year. It's improved so much since my year of CF employment, and I only see it going higher. But wow, fantastic entertainment. For only riding a few rides here and there between shows & all, the day was still amazing because of what the Live E offers in the park. I really REALLY don't understand how KI three hours south can't put a good show on unless they buy it from a company who knows how to put on a good show. I'm really tired of karaoke style backing tracks, poor harmonies, and repetitive musical reviews. KI has one show that utilizes musical talent and it's ok, that's it. I'm not stunned watching it, it's ok. I know CP is momma park, but seriously, if KI hired half of the best of the best talent CP utilizes the shows would be a hell of an improvement. Get rid of the cruddy musical reviews all over the park, hire some actual musicians to play the songs instead of something that came out of my early 2001 flip phone MIDI library, and get people who can actually sing and perform with it. KI has great choreography for the most part, but seriously, they fail everywhere else for the show. /endrant Going forward for CP live E, got some neat info. Midnight Syndicate (Ohio Halloween music group) will be in the park in a few weeks to perform for a Halloweekends show in the Goodtime Theater (where the Ice Skating shows are on the ID midway). Skeleton Crew returns to the Lumi stage this season with Haut Vol involved in the show again. So for y'all who enjoyed Cirque, head up north, you may see some familiar faces. Next year more Frontier Trail Live E is expected, potentially triple the actors they currently have..and make a personal drum roll for yourself.....Potential for train robberies to return to CP..keyword..potential. The talks have been there, but nothing confirmed or set in stone, but oh boy I'd love to see that back in the park again, what I would do to see them pull that off. Up next on the discussion: Skyhawk cables reinstalled, still running Def Leppard mode for now, crew still busting ass to get capacity to the best of it's ability, spot on crew. Corkscrew moving really good aside from a ride op purple tagging it a bit and just being a snob, SOP at the ride kind of sucks still, but crew has great cohesion. Sky Ride crew Sunday with full cabins worked so well, love how that crew consistently every year just works. TTD crew was good, but so unenthusiastic, kinda draining. Midway Market food was great, sucks it was lost for both dining plans. You can buy the daily meal deal for 13.XX. The day long meal plan and season long do not work. So you either pay 16.XX for a meal at the door, or buy the 13.XX ahead of time for the same thing. Best perk is Coke Freestyle is avail and refills included for no fee. The food is healthy-ish, and offers great choices. Oh, the buns weren't rock hard and chicken moist and tasty. Oh and the brownies weren't bitter (Hey KI head chef, Nathan "People Gatta Eat" Gushulak take freaking note). Some simple food such as the pasta was GFS provided, which was unfortunate. However the pulled pork/chicken/etc. all cooked there. KI could learn a thing or two I believe..especially hearing about similar distraught stories regarding KI's chef's food from the recent Beastbuzz that resembled my CC meal. I'd recommend going here for food if you have a chance. I was happy eating dinner rolls, salad, and chicken instead of funnel cake/hot dogs/loaded fries/etc. all day. Pinks: Had their Bacon Chili Cheesebuger..WOAH way tasty, will def. get again, and on the all day meal plan with a side of Onion Rings..score. Oh and had Corn Dogs for you Jonathan ;P That's enough for now and a good bit of info needed, more awesome stuff tomorrow post sleep, and more details when I can type em

  7. Oktoberfest, ride wise, needs an Eli Bridge Aristocrat Wheel along the fishpond. Adventure Express stays, it is a nice family coaster. The Festhaus needs to have a restored clock and glockenspiel. Panda Express needs to be moved to either Action Zone or International Street and the park should set up an Izzy's Famous Corned Beef (Sells Reubens containing corned beef or even Glier's Goetta, sauerkraut, and Swiss cheese on rye bread) stand in its place. As for the theme for Action Zone, I think they should change it back to Adventure Village.

  9. Well there is no where to walk under the station any more near The Bat. I feel a floor less would be neat but would the general pop feel it's significantly different from Banshee? However swinging out far with a floor less would be fun. Maybe add 1 floor less train and keep one "normal"? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  11. Yesterday was my 14th birthday and my dad surprised me by buying me and himself Fast Lane for my birthday! We got to the park at 11:25 and went to Diamondback first and the normal line was about 20-25 minutes. Next we went to the roughest ride I've ever had on The Beast. Next we did WindSeeker and Vortex and I actually rode in 4-1 for the first time (didn't make any difference to me). We did some bumper cars and Adventure Express. We were going to do The Bat but it wasn't on Fast Lane even though it had a 20 minute wait. I will never understand why Congo Falls has FL but not The Bat. We rode Drop Tower 3 times and went to the Chicken Shack. This was the first time I had eaten there and it was pretty good. It was about 1:20 so we went to see Cirque Imagine for the first time. It. Was. Amazing. I was stunned by how awesome it was and I hope it makes a return for the 2015 season (as well as SR&R). We rode Invertigo next and I don't know why people hate it so much, I loved it. We did Adventure Express again before having to wait 40 minutes for Banshee. My dad is a diabetic so we went out to the car so he could take his medicine. We went to Diamondback again. Every queue lane was filled and a 90 minute wait but FL was about a 10 minute wait. We sat down and ate some Auntie Anne's pretzels then did The Beast 3 times with a 10 minute FL wait each time. The last time we waited 25 minutes for the front and rode at about 9:20. My dad had never seen the fireworks from the Eiffel Tower and couldn't wait to see. Have they always had two decks open? We got in the elevator that I feel like I hadn't ridden in years and we went up to the top deck. We watched the fireworks and went down to go home. 10/10 birthday and I couldn't have spent it any better.

  16. I don't normally toot my own horn, but today myself and the other 4 operators at Lightning Run moved like i have not seen that ride move before. I honestly think it was comparable to Diamondbacks crew. On most occasions we were ready to go before the ride was (2 train operation) and there was NO stacking other than the occasional "guest of a larger stature" and on a different note, today's guest count was MUCH higher than yesterday's.

  18. Busch Gardens I think you forgot. Nah, I like the parks as they are now...for the most part, SW aren't completely perfect either. No coasters doing backflips/corkscrew/whatever over main entrances (it just doesn't look inviting for someone like me), mediocre food, musical reviews please. I'd be worried for the animals too.

  20. There's a bit of space that they could still use there. Some of it would just require moving some stuff around a bit. As Blondy said there is space next to the Festhaus for a small ride. Also where the Rope Ladder game is if they moved it elsewhere there is enough space there for another flat. Ideally I' also like to see the Slingshot moved more into Action Zone or something and they would make room for another flat or a building/shop there. But I wouldn't expect them to move it. Also just some enhancements like revamping the Festhaus itself and make it more of a German restaurant could go a long way.

  23. Happy birthday! They only use both decks on very busy days when they need to maximize capacity and have enough people available to staff both elevators and both decks. Otherwise only one deck is used, typically the top one (right elevator), though the one below it (left elevator) is sometimes used instead when it is desirable to have a roof (e.g. if it is raining).

  24. Nope. And don't get me started on the two attempts at releasing orcas that spent time in captivity (one a captured orca and the other a rescue)...they were NOT the successes activist make them out to be. I actually no issues with the idea of sea pens, problem is the threat of disease mainly. Oceans are pretty polluted...(thanks to us of course) the captive orcas probably get sick and any bacteria they themselves carry can have its own negative impact on their wild counterparts. SeaWorld need to work on all the exhibits (orcas, dolphins and even the seals/sea lions). In the case of the dolphins, I wonder about the show dolphins because in Orlando and San Diego they share the complex with pilot whales. At Orlando in particular there are 4 pilot whales there now, and they are all still on the young side and still growing...

  26. The only amusement devices I've ridden which still make me nervous are (fast) body slides and mat slides. Mainly because of the potential of water getting up my sinuses, my head impacting the slide, and/or my skin being abraded by the slide. The risk of all but the first is low when following all safety instructions, of course, but a potential for injury still makes me nervous.

  30. I never said get rid of German. I said Irish in Action Zone would be one of few theme choices that would make sense with Banshee, being that Banshees are Celtic folklore. I think that the only way to expand Oktoberfest into a real area is to absorb some of Action Zone or remove Adventure Express if the terrain isn't an issue; some have said it would be. The food selections in the Festhaus are just plain wrong. There should be schnitzel, hot pretzels, cream puffs, potato pancakes, sausages etc. All the other food can go anywhere else. I agree BB1, bring the German back to the German area.

  31. Irish? How about no, I like German, I like Germanic stuff, it's pushing it to see a pirate ship and a jungle mine in a German place, with a big v shaped contraption next to an Celtic legend. I miss the old sign, I want to eat reubens at Oktoberfest, I want to eat sauerkraut at Oktoberfest like I do at the Hoffbrauhaus. I don't want Italian/Chinese/Boy Band rock at a dining hall fit for a lavish German Kaiser. Give me a dwarf mine ride, give me a literal viking ship, give me a train set at the Sling Shot. (Yes, a train set, with all the bells and whistles!) But hey, I'm used to theme parks and Kings Island is becoming more and more of an Amusement park by the second.

  32. ^^ I think you mean Haut-Vol. I would be extremely happy to see them perform shows at Kings Island for a long time. Cirque Imagine really made a huge impression on me when it comes to live entertainment at the park. If it becomes a two-year thing like Ed Alonzo, I really don't know what KI could bring in next that would impress me as much as Cirque has. Man, I'm going to miss that show...

  39. So far in the first two shows, they haven't strayed far from the script. First show, Philip rode the tricycle along the back of the stage during the rope act. Second show, "Nico" ran the same line yelling and waving his arms over his head while the other clowns were being threatened by Trevor on the bike. Also, Philip stripped off his jacket and swung it Chippendales style over his head when imitating Trevor. I think they'll do something crazy in the last show and I'm looking forward to seeing what it is. Edited to add: Trevor came out on his bike in front of the theater and jumped over a couple park employees before they opened the doors.

  40. I wonder how much it'd cost me to get an O'CharleyTheDinosaur gravestone made. On a side note, I think it'd be cool if Kings Island did an auction for charity to have your name put on a gravestone and forever immortalized at Banshee's queue. Slightly morbid but cool.
