It does no good to tell someone they are wrong about what a clue means, or whether something is a clue or not. Frankly, none of us knows for sure. It is best to present the reasons why you think something does or doesn't mean something, and/or draw your own conclusions, without attempting to control the flow. If your reasons are good, people may believe you. If they don't, oh well. The fun of things now is the wild unfettered speculation anyway. Eventually we'll know more, but not until we're told. I personally never thought the Snapchats meant anything. To me, it was clearly not Don (I was a little surprised when I discovered that wasn't obvious to everyone) and seemed to be coming from someone who knew nothing more about what is going on than the rest of us. But, if others either believe or want to believe they have meaning, by all means, decipher away! I'm really looking forward to getting my eyes on the situation at the park again tomorrow. So far, the best clues we have are what we can see from the train.10 points

Another thing. No offense but some of you guys are sounding like spoiled kids. "If it's not a roller coaster I'm going to be really mad"... Seriously? Kings Island is one of the top parks in the US; in the past few years they have gotten some great park improvements, a giant roller coaster, a great flat ride, and a new amazing water slide complex. Now people are going to be MAD if KI doesn't get a new coaster? Even though it would be extremely unusual for KI to get a new coaster so early in the first place... Again, no offense, but Banshee is still pretty new, and you guys are already expecting KI to make another GIANT investment just 3 years later. This rant is sponsored by: your mom10 points

Maybe these "keys" will make up some of what the new ride will have? The Diamondback ones show the drop, and the splashdown. I have not seen the Firehawk snap yet, but possibly flying? For about the 8 millionth time. The park's Snap Chat is filled with various bits of "hip millenial" social media lingo. The "major key" thing is nothing more than an attempt to gear the Snap Chats toward that specific audience. It's got nothing to do with keyholes or splash downs or ride interactions. http://time.com/4172848/dj-khaled-keys-to-success/ http://www.nytimes.com/2015/12/22/arts/music/for-dj-khaled-snapchat-is-a-major-key-to-success.html http://www.theroot.com/blogs/the_grapevine/2016/01/dj_khaled_is_taking_over_snapchat_one_major_key_alert_at_a_time.html There's also Urban Dictionary if you're interested in further explanation. I finally got to ride Stormchaser last Saturday. What a fantastic coaster! The airtime on the 2nd hill is nothing short of amazing! It keeps it's speed up throughout with a little slow down near the end, but it's paced perfectly! Loved the first drop too! I'll say once again, I'd love to see a coaster like this at KI, whether it's RMC or GCI. This was my first visit ever to Kentucky Kingdom (I always past it on my way to Holiday World so many times), so it was Stormchaser that finally convinced me to check the park out. I was very pleasantly surprised. The park was clean with lots of shade in the back section, ride ops/employees were very friendly and mentioned how happy they were to see us from Cincy. The ride selection was great, especially Lightning Run...neither me or my ten year old was expecting that first drop! Wow, just wow does that coaster haul with a ton of airtime at the end. Also, at last, and had I known this I would have went before, I was able to get real snaps on a set of flyers again! That made my day complete! Got passes this year, so we will make a point to visit as much as possible this summer.7 points

So let's not fix the problem, we'll just impose a penalty if you go the wrong way. Remember, people have been used to another way for 40+ years. This is not going to turn out good. It will just freak out some of the "less stable" drivers and cause accidents. How about putting some highly visible lit signage. Or better yet, KI security could stand by the exit to head off anyone attempting to come in the exit. Quit being cheap and make it safe. Not impose fear of having to pay.6 points

Yikes I have been in the left lane to try and get back on the road before (albeit not with the new entrance) and it is absolutely dangerous to try and merge back into oncoming traffic so I see this event happening a couple of times. But oh boy the response from the park is less than helpful. I'm sure that this maybe happens only a couple of times a day but it just seems like it could be avoided by both the driver and the park. Sure the people end up getting a refund but its just a hassle. Not only for the person who has to go and talk with security to get a refund and may not have time to do so. But it also takes away park employees from doing something productive and makes them have to attend to something that should be a non issue. Adding more signs wont help too much because for the most part the right lane is always packed so people wont even be able to see the signs. The construction only exacerbates the issue. So I am not sure what they can do to alleviate the issue but it sure seems like there should've been a turnaround added for an easy exit if someone happens to make a wrong turn.5 points

You should have been here during the 2010-2011 off-season; people were about to start wielding pitchforks and torches after the double whammy of teasers leading to a mid-February announcement of an upcharge walk-through attraction and the delayed opening of a prototype flatride. Not to mention the park's Facebook fan page becoming more irate with the (in)decision being made on another GIANT investment and their frustrations on the previous season's kiddieland overhaul with an IP they argued wasn't well-known to children (despite the fact that a mere 20% of the rides in the former Nickelodeon Universe were based off of shows that are still on the air). Just remember, they aren't mad if they don't get a coaster...they're just mad if they don't get the "crown jewel" of coasters.5 points

I won't be mad if it's not a coaster. I would be disappointed. Everyone here has an idea of what they wish it to be and everyone will experience some level of disappointment of its not what they hope.5 points

They just did one of the major key snaps of Firehawk. Should pretty much squash the thought that the Diamondback snaps had anything to do with the new ride.5 points

Speaking of that, one of my biggest hopes for next year is a 45th anniversary restoration of Racer. New track work, new LED chaser lights running the whole course, and most importantly, restoring the original red white and blue paint job. Perhaps even new trains if the park is willing.Again, wishful thinking. Been wanting it to happen for years. I would honestly love to see that happen more than getting a giga. Also a return of the backwards Racer. If it used to be unsafe then they can design a way to make it safe Six Flags runs their rides backwards.5 points

Here is my long awaited PTR, that I have been thinking over and over about, I finally have a bout of motivation to try and make at least 1 part to this, as I haven't been feeling well lately(Sinus Infection or something in my chest) This Amusement Park visit was a great one. While it may not have been as great as say 4/29, it still ranks high up there. Kings Island 5/7/2016 PTR:A Gentille Day at the Island: Part 1 12:15-4:30 PM 12:15 PM: Heading Right 'roundSo I got dropped off by my mother at Kings Island after helping my parents out with the laundry from 5:00 AM- 7:45 AM. I guess that was my Moms Mothers Day Present! So after being dropped off I looked at the turnstiles for Ohiocolts, but did not see him(I later learned from him he was working in Processing.) so I entered anyway. The park did not seem too busy, felt almost like a normal Friday crowd. I walked through the majestic International Street. La Rosa's did not yet have a huge line. I then walked my way over to Planet Snoopy. I realized that I might want to ride Boo Blasters on Boo Hill. I checked the line and it was only about 5 minutes long, so I decided to get in line. I get into Car #2. The ride would be much better if say the Blasters did not glitch out sometimes, I tried as much as I could and got up to a score of 750. 7/10. After Boo Blasters I walked through Planet Snoopy. I was going to ride Woodstock Express and the Gliders but both lines were entirely too long to be worth that wait. I then decided to check out the test seat for Diamondback, I did not fit according to her but I also did not think she was right when she said the light was supposed to turn green when I did not see a light on. I did not want to try DB today so instead I went down the Midway. I then got some good ol' Rivertown Fries which are very delectable. After a good lunch I decided to opt out on The Beast as I was not entirely sure I could fit like I did on 4/29(which for those who were with me saw how stapled in I was and instead of a Beast ride I went on Vortex. I took this awesome picture of the view of the Coney Mall Midway from Vortex's Station and posted it on Instagram. I then got on Vortex 5-1, the Ron Toomer seat. I liked how intense it was but this year I think I have become a 7-1 fan! It was a good ride. 8/10. After a great Vortex ride I was going to walk down the Coney Mall Midway but instead I saw Shake Rattle & Roll had no line so I wanted to give it a try. It was a great ride, I love how it can be very thrilling without being overly nauseous. 7.8/10. After a good Shake Rattle and Roll ride I traveled over to Action Zone and got a couple of nice photos. . Checked the test seat for Banshee. "You should be able to fit into the regular seats, it is just a question of how comfortable you want to be". I am keeping it safe for today and rode only in the big boy seats. I did not get on Banshee yet as I did not want to wait in that line that I saw there. I then went over to The Bat expecting to ride, but found the line to be entirely too long, around 25 minutes. Instead I took some good pictures of the ride and was on my merry way. I then headed over to International Street, bought myself a Sprite at Lollapalooza and decided to ride the train! 1:50 PM: A Train Ride with Destiny. After a relatively uneventful 45 minutes after riding Shake Rattle and Roll I got onto the train. I took a bunch of nice pictures of the 2017 construction area, Diamondback and the woods near it. The train is a great ride to ride if you want to relax. The thing I found to be very odd is they refused to load passengers on the back two cars of the train because "paint was chipping off..." I found that to be just a bit weird. After the first train ride was over I stayed on and rerode it again, as the first time I was about to take a picture of the Bobcat in the woods working on clearing a path but my stupid 8 GB iPhone 5C decided to run out of space on me and and had to do the tedious process of deleting 5 apps from my Phone.owever after reriding the train I did not see the Bobcat in action... :/. The train was a good ride and I hope whatever is being built for next year does not tear down the train. After the train ride, I took about a 45 minute break and just sat down at a table near the Cafe on the Corner near Vortex for about 30 minutes, did some mingling on KIC and then at around 2:45 PM decided to head on over to Action Zone.I wanted to ride Banshee so I put my stuff into a locker and was on my merry way! The line was about 30 minutes long and they were hauling in capacity terms by the end of the line. I got onto the ride in row 5. The seat belt fit and there were no issues with the restraints. "All clear and you guys are heading on out of here!" My 5th Banshee ride of the year and it was a great one! I loved the ride and the first hill always catches me be surprise. 10/10. After the great Banshee ride I got my stuff from my locker and headed over to Invertigo. I saw a duo of employees blocking the entrance and saying "Sorry guys, Invertigo is closed right now.". I witnessed a lot of weird things in my 15 minutes of sitting here. "Employees: Invertigos closed right now guys." "Isn't that the Banshee??" "No. Banshees over there." _____________________________ "Sorry Guys, Invertigos closed right now." Some 13 year old boy: God (cuss words) every single (cuss word) ride is (cuss word) closed right now, you guys are (cuss word) horrible! Everyone around: Shut Up!!! _________________________ "Sorry Invertigo's closed right now Where can I go to the TimberWolf? Employees: Oh It is open right over there to the right of Congo Falls Thank you! 3:40 PM: Meetin' on Up! After waiting around at Invertigo, I finally get a Snapchat from Ohiocolts. "WHERE ARE YOU?". He had gotten off work, I knew we were going to meet up after he worked but I did not know when. I told him I was by the now open Invertigo, which I heard later on from MDMC01 that Invertigo had valleyed in the station and they had to work out some kinks. I waited around and about 5 minutes passed and I saw Ohiocolts! I said hi and everything! He told me he was in processing instead of the turnstiles today. He told me some funny stories about what happened on this day there. He wanted to first go to Skyline as he was absolutely starving. I agreed. We went over to the IS Skyline and had little wait for the food. I got myself a 3-Way and he got himself a 2 way with two coneys. We sat down and had a nice conversation. It was nice hearing about Kings Island and making good jokes about theme parks., After a good meal and 30 minutes passing by we decided we wanted to head over to the train. But that will have to wait until the exciting final part! Thank you for reading this, all of you, I appreciate every single comment and criticism from everyone. I will have Part II up soon! -stashua123 END OF PART 14 points

Assuming that KI gets the giga, I am curious which park will be lined up for the big addition in 2018, Kings Dominion might need some love, but some people say that Canada's Wonderland should / will remove their Vekoma SLC in favor of a Banshee-like invert by B&M. It is a little surprising that B&M has not built any other inverts since then, especially with the vest restraints. Heck, no retrofit projects / new train projects have come up. Those vests really added the icing on the cake, and that is one reason why I put Banshee #1 among inverts... Agree? http://coasteraddict.com/5-reasons-Banshee-still-reigns-supreme/4 points

(UPDATE 7/14/16) The snare drum mechanism is back on the organ and playing. It has been on for 2 weeks now but a small issue had the organ not playing for a few days. Now it should be playing continuously again! Here's a video I took showing the snare drum in action: The freshly refurbished snare drum mechanism at Kings Island is playing up a storm! pic.twitter.com/JO22dpunhe — Mechanical Music (@mechanicalmusic) July 1, 2016 (UPDATE 5/13/16) Here is a before and after photo of the newly refurbished snare drum mechanism to be installed soon. Not only will it play - but reiterate like a real snare drum would! (UPDATE 5/11/2016) Went back to the park today to do more work on the organ - and left with it sounding pretty good with just a few minor issues! The tempo is fixed now! In other words - no more funeral marches. If anything, one of the rolls I just put on is running a little too fast! The handle that changes the tempo is still broken, but tempo can still easily be adjusted manually inside the organ. New front snare drum head! (the back head was in good shape) The fixed snare mechanism also arrived today.... After I got back from the park. So the reiterating snare drum will be back soon, but not yet. TUNED! (Not perfect, but it's much better) Me and a few guys from maintenance moved the facade forward and the organ back and I went through and tuned about half of the organ with the time that I had. I did not have time to tune the entire organ though, so some ranks of pipes are not on, simply because it wouldn't sound too good! The extra ranks are controlled by 2 draw stops on the side of the organ, so while there are ranks not playing - this could be reversed with just pushing in a stop. A lot of cleaning was also done to the areas around the drums also. The two rolls now playing are 6612 and 6641. Still much work to be done, but most of this is something to be saved for the wintertime. The 'thing' in the pipe, for the record, is to stop the pipe from playing while being tuned. Several ranks play from one note on the roll, so this allows each individual pipe to be tuned. (Original 4/18) Hello everyone! I was at the park 4/18 (Monday after opening weekend) to do work on the band organ and spent around 5 hours on various things. It was absolutely wonderful working with the skilled, friendly people in the maintenance department who helped me a great deal; you never get a real appreciation of a park until you meet the people behind it! First of all, I changed the rolls, the rolls currently playing now are 6681-6682 and my own arranged roll: 6614. Second, new bass drum heads were put on. The old ones were in pretty poor shape, probably being around 30 or so years old. (They were not the originals) I also have new snare drum heads to be put on, but it wasn't practical to put them on yet as the snare drum is currently not in operation. Speaking of the snare drum, I have sent the mechanism out to a specialist in Pennsylvania for repair. The snare drum mechanism has not reiterated for (what I hear) around 25 or more years but will be back sounding great, along with new snare drum heads in a few weeks. Some problems I should address that I wish to fix soon: 1. Again, the snare drum mechanism is not on the organ right now, it is being fixed and will be back soon. 2. The (low bass) trombone pipes have been malfunctioning which is why they have not been on the past 3 years the organ has played. A draw stop on the side of the organ turns them on/off, but when on, one note consistently plays, this is likely due to some small particles blocking the action from moving, which I would like to fix soon. 3. The organ needs a good tuning, I am aware of this! This was what I was going to do Monday, but I got caught up on other things such as the bass drum heads, which took longer to install than I originally thought! 4. The tempo is quite slow and the tempo control is not connected to the mechanism as of right now. At least it gives a longer amount of time before a song repeats! If anyone goes to Kings Island the next few weeks and hears it - let me know what you think! It's going to be a long haul to get the organ back to what it was, but it's one I'm willing to go through! I agree to an extent. It would be a bad idea, but there could be a couple ways that disaster could be averted. For example, if multiple flats were installed, it wouldn't be that big of a problem. However, many people would be upset if no coaster came. (Many people will be upset no matter what though)3 points

They do order parts from them, but I believe that is the extent of their relationship as of today. This doesn't mean that they are on good terms though. Parts are needed for former coasters and does not mean that they will buy new coasters from them in the future. On a side note, they need all the parts because their coasters are always breaking down!3 points
