  1. Also, hopefully this will lead to fewer spills in the station bins, which would be a true blessing for ride ops and park goers.

  3. Why not a spinning coaster, like a MACK Extreme Spinner themed to a Virginia Reel in Coney Mall. Could even tie it in with the old Coney Island/ old school amusement midway theme.

  4. Saw this online: Couldnt believe it, so I went to eBay to check it out... sure enough... BTW - I have some KCKC water if anyone wants to buy it for a mere $200... ;-)

  5. I 100% agree. It would be a perfect fit for the park. Have it have launches like Ride to Happiness. Take off the steel plate that controls the spin and add crazy elements and boom perfect fit for KI. Plus that type of ride is very rare and would bring in tons of guests. ( Of course not everyone might agree on taking off the plate that controls the spin that is just my opinion )

  6. Not sure what to say on this one other than Disney consistently misses opportunities to make money....why didn't they package up some splash mountain water and have Iger sign the certificate and sell it for souvenirs? I mean Cedar Fair sold off Vortex super quick and I'm pretty sure wicked Twister didn't last too awful long either. We still have Kings Island offering cool collectables like racer and beast wood, Eiffel Tower paint chips, And Railroad Spikes or something like that. Don't forget about the vintage Coney island books too! The reason Disney missed out on this golden opportunity to make a bunch of cash off of the remaining splash mountain fans (which according to fan petitions are up around 100k) is the same reason they refuse to release the theatrical versions of Star Wars (unless there's a secret deal with George that prohibits it). I'm just saying that Disney consistently misses opportunities to make some money and instead does stupid stuff like axing magical express, and fast pass, and raising prices.... Guess this is why I'm not in the financial industry or marketing industry because the whole pay more for less motto numerous companies have adopted doesn't make sense to me. I will say it right here right now Thank You Cedar Fair for the Free Year of Gold Passes (2021) and thank you for not raising prices drastically, and thank you for still delivering great new attractions and for maintaining some of the older ones too! So lucky to have KI as my home park!

  7. Yes I absolutely loved the Houdini themed Mad House at Six Flags Great Adventure and as far as I know there's only 3 or 4 in the USA so it would be a welcome ride to Kings Island that could have a great story mode to it. I'd like to see the building get a facelift with perhaps a mine/oil rig design but if that's too difficult or expensive at least paint it brown or something other than the "I'm screaming that I don't belong here white" color that it currently is. However, I think the madhouse is a great idea, great ride, and would also be something families can ride (lower height requirements) and is also an indoor ride that can operate in inclement weather and during winterfest! I'm all for it!

  8. Well, at least they aren't offering those awful paper straws that taste like a #2 lead pencil. I also agree that the paper cups are a better option. I bought the drink wristband at Cedar Point one year and it worked well. No stowing a cup while you ride.

  9. I’m not aware of any other chain that offers the paper cup option. Cedar Fairs drink plan is the best because of this. For the reasons above. Plus it’s more sanitary if only new cups are touching these self serve machines. The only benefit of the souvenir cup is bigger drink size but By the time one to drink all of that it’s usually warm or watered down from the ice. The strawless cups probably are more sanitary for the owner. Straws are hard to clean inside.

  10. Too practical, but I'm sure the bean counters would agree.

  11. Still doubling down on a Virginia Reel. It's the 20s again after all.

  13. well I guess. i prefer the paper cup option just because I do not want to carry a cup around all day. you can get a new one every 15 minutes. In addition do not have to worry about storing it when you go on a coaster.

  14. Or use my idea, having the building to look like a RiverTown Mining Company's Workers den.

  15. Paint the building in forest camo, or even just green if it's getting reused though, the warehouse look doesn't really work.

  16. I don't think anyone is saying the park being closed after 8pm on that icy/snowy night so that guests and employees could get home safely was the wrong call. The park will never say if the 3 hours they were open that night justified opening at all. Information was in hand that they could have made the call to not open at all, but it is kinda like the school closings, some will be ticked off no matter what they do. But they made the decision to close early BEFORE the park opened, so it would have been just as easy to not open at all. They must have made the decision that a low turnout would still be worth it. I get this is the Winterfest closings thread lol, but the point that Super is making is often times it isn't because of weather. Let's toss this ice/snow event out and look at the summer season. Up until recently I never recall the park closing early during the summer season and have been at the park far worse days and they stayed open and certainly could have closed early due to the rain and so few guests than some recent years where the threat of rain had passed by 2pm yet they closed early with a decent crowd. I think they closed early 5 times in summer season in 2022, and had a few days where just Soak City closed on top of that. One of the days I remember it rained around 4:30 or so and cleared the park out. About 6pm they made an announcement that the park was closing at 8pm due to weather. But the weather had passed and nothing was on the radar and the sun was out and rides opened up around 6:30pm or so. For the few guests that stuck it out, they had the rides to themselves for a little over an hour. It is hard to argue in that situation that it closed because of weather. I too have experienced traveling to another CF park to find they closed early despite the rain had passed. I totally get they are a business, but they had stayed open in the past with far fewer guests on rainy days...but back then people actually had to pay for meals if they stayed in the park and many would grab skyline or LaRosa's and wait it out in the FestHaus, whereas now the business model is different with all the meal and drink plans... KI used to tweet out "with rain in the forecast, today is a great day to get rides in with lower crowds" or something to that effect and then would later have to tweet out park is closing...so I doubt we will see any tweets like that anymore...

  17. Without getting too political, the reason Disney+ is failing has a lot more to do with the President of Lucasfilm and the Marvel titles than Chapek. The large majority of people tuning in are not interested in woke content. Kathleen Kennedy has been trying to steer Star Wars in that direction, which is not going over well. The reason that SW has had any success is due to Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni. I don't really know enough to comment on the managing of the Disney parks.
