  1. Yes, I wish they at least played some of the original ride`s soundtrack music in the background more.

  2. The park was packed when I went opening day, and there was a huge crowd that showed up for the opening of Flying Fox. Attendance definitely seems to be higher than it was before Herschend started investing into the park. It's worth noting that Kentucky Kingdom still competes with Holiday World and Kings Island. However, Holiday World doesn't invest into new attractions very often, and Kings Island's investments have been slightly diminished due to the merger with Six Flags. If Herschend continues to consistently invest into Kentucky Kingdom, it may become much more enticing to get a season pass there, not to mention their season passes are still the cheapest of the three parks.

  3. I was just thinking this. If 2027 truly is the indoor wild moose as is rumored, I would think the next best move would actually be updating the flat ride package with some more modern things like a screamin swing, disco, some sort of frisbee that’s less carnival like than cyclos was, wave swinger, stuff along those lines for 2028. Then for 2029/30 do the waterpark enhancement. At that point they may run into some of the older flat rides like Himalaya, Breakdance, Flying Dutchman finally aging out. They could decide to immediately replace those or take the big jump and make a major investment in the now completely open and vacant land near Deluge, T3, Raging Rapids, Eye of the storm. That area could very easily become the flagship land of the entire park. Even if it were something like big bear mountain as the coaster attraction. If that happens even somewhat similar to that, I’d think Kings Island would be forced to take it more seriously. It’s really not that many moves away from going from small family park to a regional draw.

  4. The complete and total refusal to tow illegally, dangerously parked cars in the parking lot amazes me. Other than the people who park in the literal road in the row that only has parking spots on one side, you have the people nearly parking on the sidewalk in preferred, people parking in the new second exit lane from the parking lot, people parking in between cars in handicapped, etc. I know they need some quick cash- I'd certainly pay for footage of people coming back to find their illegally parked cars gone.

  5. It wasn't packed when I was there on Sunday, but it did seem busier than it had been in years past, even outside of the water park.

  6. Just went to Efteling a few weeks ago and I would think the park could do a killer dark ride in the old tomb raider building akin to Dance Macabre. Perhaps a different theme and storyline but that ride system was definitely enjoyable and I'd love to see a completely indoor attraction to give guests another option during winterfest and also during rain storms. An indoor/outdoor coaster would still be forced to close in thunderstorms unfortunately

  7. I actually was thinking a ride like Werewolf Gorge that uses the Crypt building and goes out into the woods and hugs the terrain would be very cool.

  8. Just a wish, but feasible....to tie into Mystic Timbers and The Beast, use the Big Box and construct a coaster that goes inside and outside, launched but not spinning, similar concept to Verbolten.

  9. I thought the pacing was a little odd, but maybe it was because of my first time watching and trying to get good photos at the same time.

  10. I keep noticing the lack of music as the vehicles transition between scenes. If they're worried about sound bleeding between scenes then I think it would be best to add something quiet to the onboard audio.

  11. The only other show I checked out besides Brad Ross was the show at the bandstand. My only gripe- please don't use male vocals for Spice Girls covers. Their rendition of Spice Up Your Life made me want to gag. It sounds so flat with a lack of upper alto/soprano voices. Blah.

  12. If the market around Louisville responds well to what Herschend is doing, Kentucky Kingdom could end up being one of the more surprising turnarounds in recent theme park memory. Things look promising so far.
