  1. Also heard from multiple people that despite the huge crowds that were definitely anticipated there were still several drink stations closed causing lines at the ones that were open to back up siginificantly as well as at the food stands. I saw one comment on facebook saying they had to wait in a huge line at potato works just to get a drink bc the other drink stands closeby were closed. That's inexcusable and a fireable offense by upper management! It's one thing to have drink stands closed on dead weekdays, but on a Saturday in July when several companies are doing their picnic that day and are giving out drink passes for attendees?! That's completely inexcusable! Also heard a rumor (idk if true) that one of the companies also offered Fast Lane passes which would explain the pic I saw of Diamondback's Fast Lane line spilling out onto the midway. I may sound entitled for saying this, but in my honest opinion if guests are waiting more than 20 minutes in the Fast Lane line, you've oversold the passes!

  2. There are (apparently) three large company buyouts at the park today, at least one of which provided tickets and all-day dining passes. I thought about heading over after work but there was no way I'd have even made it through the parking lot. Today is less "giving away the gate" and more "we're fine bringing in a metric ton of guests with standard staff placement". I'm sure it being National Carousel Day also helped to bring in some crowds 🤣 (I'm only slightly joking but nonetheless happy National Carousel Day to our beloved 100-year old Grand Carousel!) Really though having three big companies there today is probably what added to all of those crowds.

  3. I believe the ghost points are actually just the cast of phantoms playing the game for you 🤣 In all reality it's probably just something to do with the tracking system working a little too well. If the flashlights are always on (the buttons on these and the triggers on the blasters probably both had the same issues) then it might just be that they are always tracking even if you don't see the beam on the wall.

  4. So the only park ads I've experienced in St Louis so far are for Holiday World. BTW, the pass worked at SFSTL.

  5. I was wrong to doubt the gooey butter cake. While the texture isn't my thing, the caramelized crust makes up for it. Does require milk, its pretty decadent.

  6. Somehow, I never touched a flashlight on 2 rides through on Monday, yet scored on all 3 colors. Different amounts!? Wonder if you don’t shoot at all your flashlights just syncs with the ones in the paired car?

  7. I have a suspicion they're rewiring them or something when the buttons break. Maybe they already ran out of replacements. The flashlights, especially the buttons, seem extremely flimsy for something used by hundreds of guests per day, so it doesn't seem like a surprise that they're not lasting even a year.

  8. Of all the screens the furnace seems to be the one that usually is not working. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. As far as the flashlights, I have never had one "auto shine". That being said, this encarnation of PT seems to be more inviting to younger riders and maybe their hands are not big or strong enough to reach the button let alone hold it. I think having the flashlights on constantly would be a good move for the ride.

  9. Furnace heat was working which is nice although tv screen was not, not sure if this is new or not but the first time I rode, I didn’t even have to hold any of the flashlight button down as they lit up by themselves without me needing to do anything the second time I rode even when you don’t hit the flashlight if you shine it, it will still get your points so it’s almost as if hitting the button it’s just for show. I also noticed a lot of new music throughout the ride, which is cool.

  12. Wonder if it's KI, SALLY or a combo of both still making these tweaks. It seems like theres more dialogue now as well, or at least yo can hear it better. I rode it this week 2x and feel like the ending w Maestro and Larry had different lines each time - both ending with a variation of "You'll be back:"

  14. Music definitely seems better. The entrance area seems to have a track ive not heard previous to this week. The overall sound system seems to be running an underscore based on the original theme, and the in-car audio seems to be carrying Larry's voice over with individual characters having their own dedicated speakers. Sound levels in the queue seem much better as well with both characters being heard in all areas of the queue.
