I was always going to be too much of a baby pee-pants to ride it anyways.

Ride Adventure Express at night. You will thank me later. -
I do remember them doing the same for SoB way back. I regret not grabbing a piece of that track when I could.

Discussing Land and Space in and around Vortex
CorkscrewMcPuke replied to Klabergian Empire's topic in Kings Island
It's simple. Just build the coaster underground so it can't sink. -

It's possible that some sort of design flaw was discovered and they are inspecting all models in the field. It's hard to say though.

Does the park need another tower ride?

I'm more saddened by the removal of the original Bat footers than anything else if I'm completely honest.

I just assumed that was the one they cut up for those little displays.

I still feel that with even one train there is a chance for a problematic malfunction. The ride is either in working order or it isn't. I'd imagine the last thing Cedar Fair needs right now is their new flagship coaster being stuck on the lift hill right after a near miss.

Imagine the throughput...

The Beast is going nowhere, friend.

Possible coasters that could be gone in 5-10 years for parks
CorkscrewMcPuke replied to dropdasher's topic in Rumors
I keep seeing this sentiment, but I don't understand it at all. The Bat may be an Arrow product, but it's nowhere near as intense as Vortex. There are plenty of Arrows that are much older than Vortex that are still holding their own. What ultimately killed Vortex was how good it was. -
And thus twenty years later, OP will never live down his catastrophic fumble.

Regarding the Son of Beast Station
CorkscrewMcPuke replied to CorkscrewMcPuke's topic in Coming Attractions
It depends on the track layout and forces it takes. Corkscrew at CP is still going strong, but it's not even half the coaster Vortex was for intensity's sake. Mechanical engineering seldomly has universal metrics between vastly differing machines. Vortex was very large and produced a lot of g-force. It was only going to last so long before it tore itself apart. -
Phantom Theatre Video: BTS and On Ride Stills
CorkscrewMcPuke replied to beastfan11's topic in Kings Island History
Despite the goofy nature of the ride, I do recall being quite scared of this as a small child. The craftsmanship-to-cost ratio of PT is impressive when you compare it to the much higher budgets of Disney and Universal. I do hope the animatronics have still managed to survive to the present day without too much decay. I know they used them for haunt a few years back, but a lot can happen in five years. -
Regarding the Son of Beast Station
CorkscrewMcPuke replied to CorkscrewMcPuke's topic in Coming Attractions
Simplicity does bring reliability. That doesn't mean well planned innovation doesn't offer rewards. Son of Beast had a lot bigger issues than size. -
As many of you are aware, there is a wide tract of land that was left behind by the former animal watching exhibit Lion Country Safari. This area is now quite overgrown and still contains some of the original structures that housed the animals. It's an obvious choice for future expansion of the park, but I'm wondering what sort of plans could be had for such a large space.

I think that says a lot right there. I figured if they were going to move it, they would have done so already. It seems to me like they're leaving it there until its space is needed.
