  1. You may not like it, but this was the peak of souvenir cup design.
  2. You had better get some Skyline Chili if you're not from around here or you're missing out big time.
  3. Too practical, but I'm sure the bean counters would agree.
  4. Still doubling down on a Virginia Reel. It's the 20s again after all.
  5. That color scheme just makes me think of the Rotor so much. It brings me such joy.
  6. Did you tell them both that Tomb Raider was actually a game on the Sega Genesis?
  7. The actual structure itself likely doesn't take too much abuse. Coaster supports regularly get shock-loaded every time a train comes by, but a tower like that kind of just guides the vehicle back to the station. I don't see Drop Tower going until they already have something planned to plop down in its place, but that's really just a guess.
  8. Would be pretty baller though, you gotta admit.
  9. Vortex put a lot more force onto its tracks than The Bat does. It was also built very high off the ground, on uneven terrain no less. The growing roughness of the old girl was due in part to how awesome she was. Firehawk was always an unreliable maintenance nightmare. I don't think there was a day I visited where it didn't have some kind of problem. I feel that it truly deserved its demise. King Cobra was an unremarkable TOGO which relied on a gimmick that was insufferable for roughly half the people riding it. There is still a clone of it operating in Italy despite this. Italian men must really like their standup coasters. While I have an undying affinity for classic Arrow Loopers, they really don't offer much of a unique experience to your average thrill rider. It pains me to say it, as it was my favorite in the park, but Vortex was a rough antiquity that didn't appeal to a lot of riders. This is the real reason it was axed. It was a jerky novelty from yesteryear that people seemed to be very mixed on. The Bat is not anywhere nearly as uncomfortable as Vortex was during its last few seasons, nor does its location cause any real congestion in the absence of Son of Beast. The Bat's day will come, far sooner than I'd like, but I do not see it going anywhere for a few years, especially since we just got Orion on that side of the park. The wheel incident was a bad look, sure, but so was Vortex's chain failure back in 2011. If I am wrong then feel free to jeer me a year or two from now. For now, let those woods roar.
  10. There are some people in the amusement park community that seem to only have interest in extreme thrill rides, I've come to find. Arrow classics like The Bat are likely about to die out across the board, and many won't respect their uniqueness until they are all gone.
  11. They could certainly do something a little bit more entertaining than Congo Falls if there is new construction involved. They're definitely not gonna move Congo Falls at this point though. It's far too old and requires complex plumbing to make it work.
  12. The Beast will finally get that new luxury restroom expansion it's been needing.
  13. There is never a dull post from you, Shaggy. This ride has always been a bit shrouded by mystery to me, including its alleged storage at Sunway Lagoon in Malaysia after Wonderland Sydney closed its doors. I want to believe that it still exists disassembled to this day, although I am almost certain it was likely scrapped in the late 2000s.
  14. Here's a hot take. What if CF built an expansive, high-capacity 50s themed go-kart track on the old Vortex plot? Thunder Alley has been gone for ten years now, so the park has been missing an attraction of that nature.
  15. Best tactic I can think of is to camp out in a dark corner of the room in the Boo Blasters queue.
  16. I doubt you'll see it on a coaster for safety reasons. Boo Blasters and Action Theater are exactly what I was thinking. I could easily see the prior returning its former glory as a modernized Phantom Theater.
  17. As I've mentioned in previous threads, I feel that VR technology will play a major role in certain attractions within the park by the end of the 2020s. This will make updates to the ride experience extremely easy to implement.
  18. I'm having a hard time processing that 2005 will soon be 20 years ago.
  19. I do, as a matter of fact: 1. Coney Mall 2. The gaping hole in my heart that Vortex used to occupy
  20. Holy necro bump! I did not expect to see a thread about bare feet tonight on here. Woowee!
  21. I am perhaps a bit biased, but that's the whole point of threads like this. 1. Vortex 2. Beast 3. Adventure Express 4. Flight of Fear 5. The Bat 6. Mystic Timbers 7. Son of Beast 8. Orion 9. Diamondback 10. The Racer 11. Banshee 12. Firehawk 13. King Cobra 14. Woodstock Express 15. Actual Dog Excrement (with trim brakes) 16. Backlot Stunt Coaster 17. Invertigo 18. Flying Arial Chase 19. Ghoster Coaster
  22. Words cannot 'Express' how perfect this concept is. I didn't exactly weep over the death of Slingshot either.
