  1. from SkyTower ride: http://abcnews.go.com/US/seaworld-guests-off-sky-tower-ride/story?id=35892669
  2. Well...a coaster that is still there is also gone. Sorta. Terp, a stand up kinda guy, but likes his coasters sitting down. Usually. And a Togo elsewhere went, too....
  3. The title, based on Terp's Experience 2015 Opening Day: A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum OR Bye, Bye Terpy (or was it sccard01? I forget)
  4. Bavarian Beetle. And it's supposed to be the mid-70's here Wednesday.
  5. Would be riders were either spending too much time in slooooow food lines, left the park to eat, or didn't come back because of the first....
  6. If it's sprinkling on Wonderland's Thunder Run, there are bigger issues to worry about!
  7. That's all very nice. Delta bought....a refinery. And by all accounts they are making out like bandits.
  8. And with the patronage that ride gets, the gear will be very well suited to transferring all kinds of living things.
  9. It stayed "fixed" a little while. Even when it was "fixed," it bore little resemblance to what it once was. A well meaning volunteer did the work. Perhaps it is time to call in a pro and pay good money to get it done right.
  10. You probably flew Allegiant. Fares are their smallest profit center.
  11. Fuel prices are currently waaaay down. So, air fares? Uh.....no.
  12. If that's a major risk, CBS made things worse, and Cedar Fair hasn't changed that, by herding people outside the gate for too long (where they can't spend money) instead of clearing them through security and into a park where open shops and eateries let them spend and not come in nearly all at once as a potential unruly, riotous herd. See Fontaine Ferry for an example of what an unhappy bunch can do.
  13. ...as it once was at Paramount Parks, including Kings Island. In the event of a, heaven forfend, tragedy, just think of all the money Cedar Fair HAD saved. Then there are the delays and frustrated (perhaps never to return) guests during Haunt. Penny wise, pound stupid!
  14. Note that at Six Flags Great Adventure, for one example, the detectors are set so high that they once went off when a forgotten quarter was in a cargo pocket. Belts must be removed. Parks near NYC and Philly take this far more seriously. I hope this isn't one of those things where the horse must escape before the barn door is fixed.
  15. ....rust. Apparently. Which evokes an interesting question. Why IS Diamondback's water THAT color?
  16. Or Flight of Fear before that. Six Flags audio added to coasters (or Kings Island's Italian Job: Stunt Track)...
  17. Six Flags has had metal detectors and strict security for many, many years...as DID Paramount Parks.
  18. Tax values are not indicators of fair market value. Fair market value is the amount of cash, or things reasonably equivalent to cash, that would change hands between a buyer and a seller, with both having full knowledge of all relevant facts and circumstances, with neither being compelled to act.
