When I was still too young to die, I used to ride with UH1N Iroquois pilots who would "practice" mountainside RTT ("Return-To-Target") maneuvers in between convoys out in Montana (whether I liked it or not). Lots and lots of times. I learned to like it, and enjoyed the thrill. Yet I still enjoy the thrill of roller coasters, mostly because I don't have the element of fear of rotor blades coming off as the vehicle starts heading back uphill! What's fun about them nowadays, is the endless possibility of that one or two "first-time-ever" riders, and their never-the-same-twice reactions that are forever entertaining.

That is, of course, as long as their disagreement doesn't violate the generally accepted norms of ... 'correctness,' whoever happens to be in charge of that at the given time. -

Gosh, I just wish things like this didn't happen. Glad he's going to be ok. -

The days when they played the movie themes over International Street were nice. I chose pre-DB Rivertown; although the present-day Rivertown is very open and bright. I still miss the certain, tucked-away feel of the pre-DB days.

"News people" can't help it. Sensationalism pays the bills. It's why you hear dramatic, show-stopping music and sound effects, with minor-chord, violin-rich action news cues, and with a warble of deep concern in their voices, the overly-made up anchors break in with "Breaking News out of West Brockway! You're looking at live pictures of the doors to the courtroom where the jury is deliberating whether Joe Schmoeckle is guilty of slander in the Spaghetti-Johnson affair that has rocked this tiny, suburban community since last June." And you're like... [cricket... cricket... cricket...]

My dad invited our aunt, uncle and cousins to spend a Friday and Saturday with our family there in 1973 (from the date on the back of the instant photos my mother took of the get-together) -- I was too young to really remember much else that running through the halls chasing my big brother and older cousins, but I was impressed with how big the place was. I remember it still smelled like fresh paint and carpet glue our rooms (my mom explained it to me when I asked). It is that aroma which I believe the Brady Bunch mistook as a "fish" smell when they stayed there later that year (source Nick at Nite Pop-Up Brady). My last visit ever was to attend a reptile exhibit, where I ran into an old high school friend who sells snakes as pets. I was wondering when they were ever going to change the yellow, "All In The Family"-era wallpaper from the hallways! ...Well, I guess they're changing it now... to ...air.

#30... If you leave a b out, you don't have "about". -
Ronnie, I wasn't sure we'd ever get such a last glance at the ol' Inn, but somehow I knew you'd come through for us on this! Thanks for posting it! Although it is very, very bittersweet to those of us who can remember across four decades to a time when it seemed that place was here to stay forever; one had to feel it slipping away as it deteriorated and faded into the shadow it had become. Time marches on.

When you're half asleep and NASA TV is on, and you wake up early in the morning and they're interviewing astronaut Scott Kelly, and you're rubbing your eyes because you think you're seeing two Dons! National Aeronautics and Space Administration

Starting to Decode 2014. So much happened, so much drama, so much humor! It was itself a roller coaster ride, and I think it brought a lot of KICers "closer".

Was your poem in anyway inspired by Poe, Craven or perhaps Stephen King? Jeesh!

^ Well, no, maybe not that extreme... but perhaps a sentence of, say, 10 full revolutions on one of these:

Awesome Mr. Big tune: EDIT - Sorry, wrong thread; however, this is kinda my genre right here.

Gosh, that's a tough one. Depends on what day it is for me. Seriously, one minute I'm jamming Andy Grammer, then classic Rush, then Vince Gill. So, "Poprogountry."

In my teens, I once knew a cute girl, about two years my junior, who had all of life ahead of her. I recently discovered that meth destroyed her life; and the only picture was of her mug shot, and she looks 83 years old and almost dead.

Yep. Third Eye Blind can go right back into the studio and record a few more verses of "Semi-Charmed Life." Yep. ♫ Doo doo doot, doot-do-doot-do, Doo doo doot-- The park was closed, I was gettin' visions of it- From a panty hose-type, shiny egg-shape spaceship, UFOs, an' I wish I could get back there, to the Place I used to stand in li-i-i-i-i-ine! Doo doo doot, doot-do-doot-do, Doo doo doot, doot-do-doot-do ♫ (with a little work, it'll scan. )

LOL! Well, no. My UFO likes it here, and remembers what happened when someone suggested illegally entering a certain park back in the pre-Eve era. I'd watch anyone carving Fury 325 in their mashed potatoes, though ...
