  1. Re-posting, as the original was lost in the upgrade attempt. Also on my way over to help reinforce the signage at WWC. What kind of guest-operated theming would you add, and to which ride(s)? Share your imagination. Here's my (updated) "fan-mercial" for the geysers. Enjoy!
  2. I am here at the park today. The park looks beautiful today (and the weather is going to be great all day). Say 'Hi' if you see ol' Tb. I'm the guy in the black shirt, blue backpack and black UA hat.
  3. All things considered, it is safer to enjoy the relentless splashing of Whitewater Canyon, and the geyser-obsessed soakaholics therein (arrr, and so on so forth)... The last time I was in a water park, a young couple very near by (it was so crowded, people kept bumping into one-another) started, well, doing that which cannot be concealed (a more deliberate kind of bumping), and I got out immediately. I've never gone back. Private pools from now on... and I don't spare the HTH.
  4. Ironically, they'll appear again in the "I Love the 2010's" gift shop of tomorrow.
  5. Some amusement parks sell them in their souvenir shops.
  6. It's about time! The bulb on the signal was starting to overheat!
  7. WWC is running at a ratio of 4 to 1, empty-to-occupied (sometimes with only two or three riders). Also, the orange, red and white geysers are out-of-order, so I get to save some quarters today. Tomorrow, however, I'll get plenty of practice on the high-angle green, purple, bronze and pink cannons, which isn't as fun because everyone thinks the guy in the tower operates those. Tb, @ Starbucks
  8. I had to park in Diamondback 65 ... at 11 AM ...on an overcast day, so it's pretty crowded (I think it's a B.A.F. day, as well as Spirit Song, so lots of happy guests . I'm at Festhaus finishing up lunch; on my way over to WWC. I'll update in another hour or so of what I see on the way.
  9. Interesting parallel to all of this... Today is the day... (From a site that actually counts down to October 21, 2015)... still fun, though.
  10. Wha? Who ARE you people? And what's with the puffy, red winter vest?
  11. ! They have an attraction called Maui Wowie!?! Hasn't anyone there seen the movie Nine-to-Five? Oy!
  12. There, now. All prim and proper. No one is offended; all are happy. Peace in our time in our time in our time in our time
  13. I saw the nice, shiny welding sparks from up on the Eiffel Tower yesterday. It was good to see all the arms back on. I'm feeling a quick return to Monster goodness soon!
  14. There may not be many flies, but carpenter bees rule the skies here. Tb, chalking up yet another bee joke on KIC.
  15. Welcome to KIC! Nice combined trip report! Glad you seem to have had a great time! I don't know about the trims, but I think the Blue Racer has a winning "streak."
  16. Roller coasters and bounce houses are gaining a sort of shadowy reputation of late.
  17. It's nice to see a park that was closed in the 1990's reopening after so many years. Just like I did at the movie theater on Friday.
  18. I think I'm tied with the OP at 10 so far in 2015. I lost track of my life-time count sometime back in ... 1985.
  19. It's interesting looking back at stories that shaped public opinion during that critical election year. I would never have imagined 'meal plans,' much less 'free wi-fi' seven years ago. I guess when the going gets tough, the tough... innovate.
  20. Eiffel Tower closed for "maintenance." No eta on re-open. Off to VF I go. EDIT- Never mind; it's open again.
  21. Below is a CGI POV of what it must be like for those poor, dry passengers of Whitewater Canyon who, thinking they've made it through with only a mild sprinkling, look up to realize that, behind those colorful, unnatural tubes, way up there on the high banks that dominate the swirling stream below, stands a crowd of delighted (possibly even a little mischievous) fellow guests, each manning a quarter-operated panel that gives them the power to help fulfill Kings Island's fair warning that "you will get wet on this ride (you might even get drenched!)" For whatever reason, this has been my most relaxing, therapeutic passtime in the park this year! Most hilariously, last weekend, when what looked like the US Secret Service showed up (it was: 1) our own "Sky" pilot, 2) a gentleman of the Service (he of the Caduceus), and 3) another gentleman, all dressed up in dark business suits and mirrored sunglasses) to join in with a barrage that included someone manning every possible geyser for a ten-minute deluge that had the local woods drowning out even the mighty, five-chime blast of the green train's whistle with happy screams and laughter! I budgeted for another round of such hilarity tomorrow. I like the red geyser. It soaks so, so well! "Hey, what's that red thing? D-Oh!"
  22. If the roller coaster ever gets up and walks into a temple and makes an egregious claim of power, then I'll worry.
  23. Sometimes I think that if some KIC members pooled their talents and imagination, they could come up with an amazing, block-busting media project!
  24. The ride gives you a sustained abdominal drop thrill through each pendular transition, similar to what you might feel when riding in a car on a hilly back road while not looking out any windows; and there's about 1.5 - 3 seconds of weightlessness at each swing reversal. The restraint is snug, however it feels like the ride 'catches' you (comfortably) and throws you back into the other direction, with the added fun of being on a rotating wheel that constantly changes the angle of your "flight." There are "leg chopper" visual effects in the form of the sign, and blue spires with red lights toward the Festhaus side of the attraction (not to worry, unless you happen to have shins that are 9 feet long) . The ride is known for each seat stopping at the exact same position from which the ride starts, so each seat has its own unique "path" through the ride experience.
