British grammar is an horse of a different colour.

I hadn't given that much thought, and I sincerely compliment you on such a great thought-starter! Kind of related to what you've written here, I've noticed that, sometimes when someone themes an area around a specific span of time, such as the 1950's or 1980's, they tend to play selections of music exclusive to the respective decade. However, one has to believe that, during the 1950's, for example, public tastes in music ranged vastly beyond just rock & roll. Radio stations were still playing Tommy Dorsey, Duke Ellington, Cab Calloway, etc., just like how, in the 1980's, it wasn't all Cyndi Lauper, Prince and Huey Lewis - lots of 1960's & 1970s rock, Motown, country and pop (and even some disco) were still being played, and could just as easily evoke memories of events in the 1980's just because they happened to be on the radio at the time. Anyway, just a thought. SR&R's exciting upgrade is very pretty at night!

I think it's time to sprinkle in a few flats; however, if I were to choose, I'd say a nice, 3600" Giga would be awesome. Clip clop clip clop [door slams]

Just got back from the park. Great, short lines everywhere. I love the dusk look of SR&R. I showed the Eiffel Tower deck supervisor how to find downtown Cincinnati through the telescope; he had never seen that before (Bonus: I also saw the Great American Tower clearer than ever, too, which was cool!) I saw more people cutting into the line for BLSC than ever before; just walking up through the grass, under the rails and into the line. They had the "switches" configured for maximum queue, so everybody was doing the sideways limbo to get into the line (except yours truly, who must set a good example, if only on principle). Still, it was a short wait for a wonderful, smooth ride! The Bat was smooth and fun as always, and I looked around at things I've never looked at before while riding that particular coaster. It made for a 'different' feel. It was a walk-on, but only if you didn't care which seat you got. I stopped into Guest Services and asked about the landscaping. Yes, there will be flowers! We just have to wait for Ohio's weather to level off and be warm consistently. So yea! I didn't buy park food this trip; instead, I'm heading over to the Skyline near Fields Ertel to munch on some coneys & salad (It has great wifi).

It's ok. Thor would've whooped my behind anyways!

And I was so looking forward to challenging 'Thor' to the strength test game. Oh, well.

New Kids on the Block Member Rides Diamondback

Six years after the DB photo? Maybe an event worth such a power-bump? Should we dust off the old British Knights kicks? -
Little Glitches....not a serious complaint thread :)

Line item #2 is a little confusing. -
Tumble Bug was such an awesome ride! I'd love to see it "return." As I was walking by the big, open field that used to have Saltwater Circus and Burnout Spectacular, I kept thinking how nicely a nice, colorful Paratrooper ride would look in that space. Not something I remember the park having, but a nostalgic flat to be sure.

I remember parking in the grass once in 2004. It was strange, but we had a decent time that day.

I've got it! Just cover up the "S" on the Slaughter House until Haunt. Then it looks like: LAUGHTER HOUSE Much more family-friendly, no?

There's still a few good weeks for things to get up to speed. I was encouraged to notice that, despite Kings Island not being a Disney or Universal property, thousands and thousands came into the park, rode rides, ate food, bought souvenirs, and were entertained by... well, geese for the moment, but the season will eventually go into full swing, memories will be made, friendships will develop, personal ride-count records will be increased, and the hiccups of the first few operating days will be long forgotten.

I've heard a lot of club remixes, especially to songs like "Best Day of My Life" by American Authors, and "Fireflies" by Owl City, where the tempo is a little faster, and the rhythm accents are split.

Welcome to KIC! The Glass Blower shop is in the corner of the Emporium near the Eiffel Tower, opposite of where it used to be.

The dinosaur that is close to the pass/ticket center is, I believe, the one that used to be out close to Kings Island Drive?
-
That would be a bummer. May we see a link to the photo? I, for one, am very interested in seeing the cable.

EDIT: Forgot which thread I was in. (Sorry)

Oh, me, too. Vortex's inaugural seasons did, indeed, see mammoth queues! Hey, remember when Screamin' Demon debuted, and you had to pass through the line of people just to get on Der Spinning Keggers? (It was the only time I can remember where two lines criss-crossed.) I think I stayed pretty much out at Giant Slide/Zodiac all that day while my folks did their first ride on that new coaster. I remember, 'cause my dad came over like at 3:00-ish and took us over to Hanna Barbara Land, where my cousin and I marathonned the helicopter ride (the one that allowed you to control "lift" - they later took the helicopter "blades" off and made it a Jetsons' ride) almost the entire rest of the day, and were amazed as we made our way to HBL, at how the line for Screamin' Demon was still past the Keggers! Ah, the memories of this zany little park of ours!

Loved Adventure Express! The ending tunnel voice is off, and the stone drummers are a bit squeaky, but other than that the ride was awesome as always!
-
Probably later in the season on that one? Like much of the landscaping, and some of the shows, etc.

I used to love taking pictures of his works through the windows, with the tower in the background, and to just stand there and watch him create things with fire. Now it's a kiosk across the midway; no torch, no windows; the person working there telling me they do their blowing at Trader's World now... I just miss the old location, that's all.

Fun day! Park looks great (although I miss Glass Blower in its old spot, and I miss the Wood Carving shop altogether). Tower Gardens looks wide open without the waterfall, and with the new layout, I guess. Anyway, off to a great 2015 for sure! Tb has left the building (gotta go soak the sore and tired ol' "dogs" after all this walking). Great meeting everyone! See ya around!

From the perspective of some guests, Bring-a-Friend-Free Day was indeed awesome. Lots of great memories, friends having a good time genuinely, and lots of new friendships being formed right there in the park, as so many people had this huge "event" in which to share in excitement and fun. The lines were hilariously long (Vortex's would stretch to the Goblet toss), and if you thought basketball bouncing was annoying on regular admission days, thunder, my friends. Thunder. But it was alive, and full of laughter and screams (and not just at food prices). I have no data to form an opinion about the perspective of the Park during those days. I can only guess a possible underestimation of the percentage of pass holders who would actually participate in the offer? I'll never know.

I like how you put that! I tried doing some research, but it led to a fascinating, albeit impractical result: 1. Given certain, average dimensions of people, including an allowance for personal space, 12,388 people can stand on a single acre of land comfortably. 2. Kings Island is a 364-acre park. 3. 12,388 x 364 = 4,509,232 But of course, no. That would be half the population of New Jersey. So it's back to the drawing board I go!

I like all the radio station vans/trucks from here and abroad. Adds a certain level of excitement to opening day.
