  1. ^Thanks! As for how I deal with those pesky argument-starters (the ones who do it just to rile us) I use 'ignore user' when a troll comes a trollin'. The less response they get, the less they'll stick around. My motto: When a poster makes you sore, report and ignore! (well, that's not really my motto, but it rhymes!)
  2. Thanks for the article, RailRider. (This article says the Jury's still out. Have they reached a verdict?) I'm saddened that such a thing happened, especially at Disney.
  3. KIC is a living community of people that will outlive the site if it were ever to fade away... I don't know any of them personally, but I've been nothing short of impressed with what "The Enthusiast", Dane, Ryan, Bill, etc. (from the Staff page; I don't know who else was involved) have brought us over these years. Not to mention the wealth of quality info and thoughtful input from the members. As long as I've been able to come in here and have such fun discussion with fellow KI fans, there has been no such thing as an off-season.
  4. I can imagine the people's thoughts getting on the cherry picker with the firefighters: "We waited an hour in line for this?" Glad to see everyone was safe.
  5. The only thing anyone is allowed to cast from the Eiffel Tower is one's gaze upon the majestic view below! Seriously I was busted when I was 9: I dropped a small piece of paper, and as I watched it flutter like a moth over the wonderful fountains, I felt the sudden grasp on my sholders of the watchful tower supervisor, and was quickly escorted to my dad. I think I wasn't kicked out of the park that day, because it was 1978, and spanking by parents in public was still politically correct...
  6. I wanted to make a special photoshop for Terpy, so I tried to look up the Roman numeral for 20,000, and it's just a boring two X's with lines over them... just wouldn't seem fitting ... so I'll just say "Thanks, Terpy, for 20,000+ reasons to enjoy KIC!" -Tb, who at least got in one "spit take" !
  7. For me, KIC is like being at Kings Island when I can't be there physically. Mostly, it's sharing great conversation with like interests in the park and the amusement industry (sometimes I admit I get a little over-the-top, and I apologize to you for that). Some of the rude and/or irrelevant posts I see on here give me the same feeling as I get when encountering a line jumper, "free-range smoker" or someone spouting off profanity. Still, it is the most balanced, well-moderated site I know, and thankfully, the worst 'offenders' seem to always be dealt with quickly.
  8. Those fountains are versatile: tennis court, wishing well, skating rink... I like them best as visual theming elements, but only with the right atmosphere (i.e., music).
  9. I'm right here! Whaddya mean? Seriously, though, the only ride that still "thrills" me is Delirium. I've discovered that if I close my eyes for the whole ride and just relax, I get the maximum 'country road stomach' effect. Diamondback, Beast and Vortex do the same, but not as intense for me.
  10. The words "Citation Needed" is always a big clue for me that the info may not be reliable.
  11. No POVs here. I answered my phone on the 2nd lift hill on Beast, and my wife laughed when she heard everybody screaming, but that's about the only time I've done anything remotely like that. What happens to people who get caught making illegal POV's, I wonder?
  12. Heck I'd settle for a clamshell! ...well, a wide clamshell
  13. Terpy, you're the Dean of hilarious posts!
  14. Good music that sets that "magical" feel about a park.
  15. I had to recently correct some people who believe Kings Island bought Paramount Studios. Boy, the grapevines that information passes through these days!
  16. That was a tenuous title, given all the sensitivity surrounding Firewood's SBNO status lately.
  17. What are these orange, flying ant looking things all over the place? My wife says they're called "Pizmyers" or something like that. I call them creepy and annoying!
  18. Now, that's what I call a confirmed coaster closure story! Sorry to hear about it. More Sources Here
  19. I think that...uh...U.S. Americans and such-as, should vote...for...Diamondback because people in the Iraq and such-as don't have rollercoasters like U.S. Americans...and such as...
  20. ^^Congratulations on 5K... Diamondback certainly has the buzz and magnitude to garner that kind of attention. The competition seems to be in more touristy locales, but we'll see.
  21. ^1. I'd hope the body was alive and well; and 2. I'd go over the three click rule again.
  22. EDIT----Oops! Trying to be funny, I accidentally created a picture that may have been taken offensively. I apologize. -Tb
