^If you wanted to save people time, you didnt need to recreate the same topic again, instead you oculdve just searched for it to make sure it already existed or didnt exist, then commented on it instead of recreating it. Hence the rule.

Whose it hurting? The peopel who wanna find the information when they search, its just more convienent to have it in one place, not a million topics about the same thing. I didnt make the rule, I just pointed it out to you, no need to whine.

Kentucky Kingdom Troubles?
Gordon Bombay replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Everyone on this topic seems to think this is a death toll for SFKK but if SFKK is doing so bad then how come it isnt one of the 6 parks SF listed as for possible sale? -
*rollseyes* Please follow the T.O.S. and search before recreating the same topic over and over. Theres alreayd a few topics on this subject. Topic 1 Topic 2 Topic 3

You are right, I noticed this two days ago when I rode, it smells awful.
-
^You probably feel its more bumpy because you cant see whats going to happen next and cant predict exact timing of what hill is going to hit next. I know I get the same feeling, when I rode backwards the other day I thought I had the ride memorized then right before you hit the hill to where the track splits off theres a little bunny hop that you dont expect when going backwards and it ejects you really high then throws you back down, its great. I prefer backwards though because what little airtime you get, it ejects you out of the car and then the car forces you back down.

I havent eaten at the park in years, unless it was a candy bar, everytime I've gone I've just eaten before I got there, left the park and ewaten someplace local, or went out with the people I visited with afterwards. However, on July 4th weekend while helping Ryan and Bill film nights of fire I decided to eat with them at the park. I paid 13 bucks for a bacon cheeseburger, medium dirnk, and fries at Happy Day's Diner. The food was REALLY good, worth 13 bucks? Hell no, but defienently really good, the food may be over priced but if your willing to splurge KI does have some great food. Especially Potato Works, as much as I like them I never feel like paying for them so I just pass on buying them while visiting.

Death of A Theme Park
Gordon Bombay replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
^A very good article with very good points! If you're going to be paying a lot you deserve a quality product. A lot of these promotions that parks do are bad. Bring a firend free day for example, yeah the park makes a killing in profits but they also have a lot of problems. Thanks for sharing INterpreter, I hope all theme parks take note and I hope Magic Mountain can be saved -
^Beast and Vortex both go well over 100ft son. And since you said rides, so do Delerium, Drop Zone, The Eifel Tower.
-
^At one point they had a merth-mobile from the Wayne's World movies and then it dissapeared and I saw it later that year at Paramount's Carowinds. They never had a Knight Rider car but did have a classical looking Model - T that can now be seen from the Eifel Tower sitting in a backstage lot close to Boomerang Bay where it has been seen for 2 years now. The only thing really in the Paramount story is some fake miniature submarine models from the hunt for red october, a star trek ship, the chariot from cleopatra, and some random stuff here and there.

^Whats Thunder Canyon? Is that a new ride?

will they rename the rides of the paramount parks?
Gordon Bombay replied to peteytherocker's topic in Rumors
Adventure Express is not themed to any movie, it was installed theming and all before Paramount Communications bought the park, they wouldnt have to change a thing about it, maybe just drop the Indiana JOnes music in the que. Top Gun...to re-theme that considering much of the theme is gone they just have to throw out some signs, posters, and flags and your good. Maybe paint it and wash out the trough. Face/Off, just change the name, that could easily work. FOF is already set as it isnt themed to anything Paramount anymore. Tomb Raider could be quite the challenge, but what if you just tore down the building? -
^I'll be heading up to the park this evening and I'll take a look for you

^Could'nt the lack of strategic marketing also have led to its downfall, no offense to PKI's fantastic marketing team, but the only times I ever saw Winterfest advertised was on a billboard off of I-75 going towards Cincinnati and a small psoter at Kroger's in Fairfield. No radio commericals, and the only thing I saw on tv was a commercial to come in and apply to work at PKI for winterfest, not for the actual event. I think they were too dependent on assuing that those who had come in years passed would all come flocking back.
-
^I'm sure if you just let them know they'll make sure you get credit, it was probabyl just a mistake.
-
Could they possibly just be cancelling it this year because theyare going to have their hands full with integrating policies and people into 5 new major parks and possibly making many changes throughout the park, if thats so, maybe winterfest will return in a few more years when they feel they can do it right, but this year its probably just in their way. Another question posed is since the tickets were sold under CBS ownership then the cancelation took place under Cedar Fair ownership, did CBS get the money, and CF have to pay it back?
-
Very nice update, that is the most thourough and best collection of PKI hisotry I've ever seen on the net, all the information. Work like this goes to show yet again why PKIC is #1!

Me and so many others want King Cobra back!
Gordon Bombay replied to beastrider5334's topic in Kings Island
Togo still thrives as a coaster making company in Japan, I believe they've built two new coasters this year over seas. Their U.S. headquarters were once in Cincinnati. -

There was/still is a big difference between a togo stand up and a B&M stand up.
