  1. ohh.. well yeah, and most people that sue mcdonalds dont excersise when they eat the food, so they cant really sue. Most people ride SoB and dont readthe warning, so why can they sue? but i could see how they wouldnt want to drag on a court case. THey can sue because anyone whos willing to pay for a lawyer can file a lawsuit if they wish, but mcdonalds most of the time will chose not to challenge the legitimacy of their claims and just pay them to back off so they dont need to waste their time. Like I said, stop posting about nothing which you know about, the last 4 recent big lawsuits brought against mcdonalds were about food poisioning and improperly prepared and served beverages such as coffe that was way too hot.
  2. Very well said Hank, its glad to see some people on here still post with intelligence and respect to the victims and park employees. I'm sick of reading disrespecful posts from people like the user above me. I couldnt agree with you more Hank.
  3. ^Most of the time the legal team will just settle with the person ahter than dragging on with the court case, most major companies do this too, mcdonalds for example, rarely goes to court with ayone even if the "victim" is a complete idiot. Vortexqueen, saying the riders had no sense is completely irational and insensitive to what happened to them! First off stop posting about things you dont know about, people have filed lawsuits against the park all the time particuarly about SOB, those lawsuits did not force the park to re-track it like you claim they did. The ride has re-ceived retracking and major maintenance all over it every year since it opened, it received the most work this year in an attempt to make it a more enjoyable ride, not to stop law suits. It has been confirmed that what happened on SOB was not a regular part of how the ride operates, so guests could not expect that, so saying they had no sense is completely stupid. Seriously, something serious has happened here and the details are jsut starting to unfold, stop being an idiot!
  4. Currently at this time theres a lot of questions and rumros going around, please only post if you have something intelligent to add to the conversation. PKI is a safe park, American amusement parks in general are very safe places, the staff at PKI especialyl the SOB ride operators and wood coaster maintenance team are impecable employees just like the rest of the operations team at Paramount's Kings Island, I'm sure they did their jobs to the best of their abilities. The ride owuld not have been running that day if it wasnt safe, what happened was unfortuanate but what exactly happened is uncertain so lets all stop throwing accusations untill we find out the real truth. Like SOB_TOM said, the maintenance staff knows what theyre doing at the park, better than the average guest knows, and I can personally say as a former employee that SOB_TOM knows his stuff.
  5. ^Wasnt it Flight Commander, not the zodiac, that ended up there?
  6. WWC during daily, pre, regular, and post season operation opens sharply at noon.
  7. different rides have different lock out areas, for example, at The Beast and employee may go to the bottom of the first drop and retreeive something as long as he/she is arm's length away from the track.
  8. ^Did it carry any viacom theming or paramoutn entitys etc. ? Why was the contract not re-newed, why did Paramount parks want to manage it and when the 5 parks were purchased from KECO, why was Australia's wonderland not purchased?
  9. The recent SLC's theyve built supposidly have a better reputation since Vekoma has changed management.
  10. Many people just find the extended suspension and negative g's of the slow ascents painful and forceful, but if you can handle them theyre fun, its definently worth a try, the theming (although not what it used to be) is still pretty good, enjoy your ride!
  11. Great pictures Kenban, if you oculd can you post some more pictures of the forgotten sea world relics, those woul dbe realyl good to see. You should submit your thunderhawk picture to rcdb since they dont have an updated one with the new paintjob
  12. bottled water is $3.25 not $5000.00
  13. ^The Aquarium and zoo I could see being more fun to take younger children to, granted PKI has some great attractions and rides for the younger ones, I'm not discrediting them at all, but I found it easier to take my 4 year old niece to the zoo one day than to PKI last week.
  14. Vortex power hour better than The Beast!? HA! I think not! Not atleast when the 1337 crew is in over there and gets teh crowd shouting B-E-A-S-T whats that spell? BEAST! and "If your gonna ride The Beast clap your hands" and "Carwash". You arrow coaster employees are one tricky pony types, The Beast crew keeps it real!
  15. ^And is still there today, I rode it saturday night and saw it.
  16. Those guys that were set up next to the swan lake in rivertown across from IJ are the same ones who do the show at GL? No offense to those guys, they put ona fun and interesting show and we're veyr nice but they use an entire stadium? Cedar Fair actualyl uses and entire former sea world stadium to do that lumberjack show that was on the grass by a pond at Kings Island? That is a huge waste, with all respect due to the performers taletns they dont need that big of a venue. Is that the same theatre where the ehrm...accident....happened? *PKICentral fun fact* You can see a PKICentral contributer shaking hands with one of the lumberjacks in PKIC's new nights of fire 06 video!
  17. ^IT was Ryans first video in about a year, not the sites lol. I made a winter soar construction tour one and Bill made a new for 2006 one.
  18. ^but the newsletter editor, and i mean this in no offense to the current one employed, is not some major position that is unique to these parks that wastes resources and requires termination, I'm sure CP, KBF, and other CF parks have newsletters, I seriously doubt CF came in and cleaned house on thsoe that write the newsletter, they have other matters to worry about.
  19. Wooferbear, you were employed at KI when it made the change from KECO to Paramount werent you? I seem to remember you said you were a cart sup, or maybe a manager, how did Paramount change the management and upper jobs?
  20. ^Even if the lines for rides are long there is so much other stuff to see and do that you'll still have a fantastic time. The park is also VERY well staffed on these weekends, that means lots of employees working rides, many employees cleaning, and many working food service to keep food lines (lines not prices ) down.
  21. muwahaha eveyrone knows Dick Kinzel hates newsletters!
  22. But, how do you know that they fired the newsletter writer? Doesnt CF have bigger fish to fry? I mean, the just aquirred five parks and I'm sure they're looking at how/if they want to re-structure the management and what changed they'll make, I doubt the newsletter writer was the first on their list to axe.
  23. Hey wooferbear, this topic is not about your opinions of President George W. Bush or anyone's opinions of the president for that matter, head over to a different forum if you wish to discuss that. This topic is about Nights of Fire and the content that was filmed and photographed last night and put together over night through lots of hard work and effort on the part mostly of Ryan Suhr who did a fantastic job with this video. Whether you like him or not, he is our president, what he says in the video is true and all Americans can relate to it. The speech included wasnt one-sided, right wing, or left wing, it was condolence to the lives lost on September 11th, so lets have some respect here for the lives that were lost ont hat day and some respect for the man who has to lead the country through times like that and stand up under the eyes and scrutiny of every American through tough times like that, whether you like him or not it takes a lot to do that job and thats something to be respected of every American president so leave the politics off this topic! Great editing work Ryan, the video really captures how spectacular the event was, I cant telly ou how much I enjoyed contributing and working with you guys on the filming and production of the video, it really shows the effort and work we all put in. Night's of Fire was a great event that any American could be proud of, despite thsoe who feel Kings Island cut back this year they should know that Nights of Fire is still as powerful and moving as ever and that its full effect can not just be felt in this video. Have a safe and happy fourth of July weekend everyone!
  24. It closed at 11. Nights of Fire was great, not as long as in the past but still great none the less. The soundtrack was fantastic too, featuring great quotes from FDR, Reagan, JFK, and current president George W. Bush. The music was pretty good, especially the classic lee green wood song "i'm proud to be an American".
