  1. First off the "trampolene thing" is Eurobungee at Coney Mall - and it's not that thrilling. Hands down....Sling Shot is the most thrilling! You shoot up like a missile and spin backwards several times over. I never screamed so much in my life as like on Sling Shot. Have a great day! Italian Chef :chef:
  2. Usually not so crowded on Opening Day as many folks don't know the park opened yet. Have a great day! Italian Chef :chef:
  3. Yes, it was indeed on Extreme Rides 2003. FusionDude won a copy of the program at PKIC at Siam Orchid Day. It was a cool program. PKI got more coverage in the Delirium show that the TR:TR show. Have a great day! Italian Chef :chef:
  4. I would like to thank you all, especially Ryan, for your well wishes. Antonino Hiroki Infosino was born on March 31st at 10:22 PM weighing 5 lbs., 11 oz. We named my son after my uncle, who has been acceptionally kind to us - and for those of you who have a copy of The Unofficial Guidebook to Paramount's Kings Island, you'll notice I dedicated it to my uncle. My son's middle name, Hiroki, is to honor my father-in-law. In case you're curious, my wife is Japanese...hence the name Hiroki is Japanese. Mrs. Chef is in good shape in spite of a C-section birth - as is the baby. We are very happy with our new son and thank you all for your kindness. I hope to see many of you at PKIC meetings this year. Sincerely, Italian Chef aka Charles Infosino :chef:
  5. I was very angry that my occupation, EFT Conversion Specialist, was listed instead of Author of the Unofficial Guidebook to Paramount's Kings Island. That mistake by the Travel Channel probably cost me at least $1000 in book sales. For the record, EFT means electronic funds transfer. I coordinate the installation and removal of ATMs and other electronic forms of banking. Sounds like fun? Have a great day! Italian Chef :chef:
  6. He is a boy and his name will be Antonino Hiroki Infosino. We will call him Nino for short. I live about 30 minutes from PKI, so if I go and my wife goes into labor (which can take up to 10 hours until the baby is born), I can definitely get home on time. I can assure everyone that I would NEVER miss my child's birth for PKI. The risk is that I might get my wife to the hospital 1-2 hours after the first signs of close contractions. Have a great day! Italian Chef :chef:
  7. This is a tough call. The way things look now, I will NOT be there on opening day. However, I am hoping to be at PKI on Season Pass Holders Preview Day on 4/4. Our due date is 4/19, but the doctors think that my kid is on his way already - my wife is dropping. If she hasn't given birth/gone into labor by 4/4....I will have an AWESOME time at PKI. If she has given birth/gone into labor...it'll have to wait a few weeks as family comes first. Either which way, I am expecting my son to be born early - and hence I doubt I can make the 4/10 Opening Day. But if my wife hasn't given birth or gone into labor by then, and the doctor says it's okay...I probably will. My family comes first. But if the birthing process hasn't begun yet, I really wish to go to PKI as I miss and love it much. After my son is born, I will bring him there in his stroller to introduce him to Daddy's favorite place. Have a great day! Italian Chef :chef:
  8. If the deal goes thorugh, I hope that PKI leases and doesn't sell its land. And I also hope that PKI will be a partner with the hotel, sharing its characters, theming, specials, etc. I still think that 300 rooms are too many. Have a great day! Italian Chef :chef:
  9. The Great Lakes Company wants to build a 300-room hotel with a 90,000 foot indoor water park (almost 3X Great Bear at CP) and have a conference center to fit up to 1200 people. http://www.enquirer.com/editions/2004/03/2.../biz_pki24.html In my humble opinion, PKI would benefit and financially profit from a small hotel that can accomadate around 100 people and has a 30,000 foot indoor water park. But 300 rooms.............NO GOOD! The hotel market on I-71 Exits 19 and 25 is already too saturated. With 300 rooms to maintain (electricity, heat, labor, etc.) the hotel would probably do okay in the summer and lose money the rest of the year as most of its rooms would be empty. And 90,000 feet of water park with CDBB and The Beach so close...NO GOOD. We live in Ohio, not Florida. I don't think there's enough demand for a third large water park in Mason. Hey, that's just my opinion. What is yours? Have a great day! Italian Chef :chef:
  10. Great idea! Wasn't there some short Italian dude who kept saying that PKI should have its own hotel? Have a great day! Italian Chef :chef:
  11. Thank you much! I greatly appreciate the compliment. I was interviewed for 20 minutes...and only got 10 seconds of air time. Oh well, at least I made my national debut. I wasn't told what to say. They just asked me a bunch of questions and I did my best to answer them. It wasn't easy because I was running on 4 hours of sleep and was worn out from multiple TR:TR rides. On a side note, I'd like to say that I think that it was un-fair to lump PKI and CP in with Universal Orlando. PKI and CP and regional parks with limited budgets. These parks can't compete with Universal Orlando for money, technology, marketing, etc. In my opinion, the show should've been limited to seasonal parks only. I was hoping to see more of PKI and less of Universal Orlando. Have a great weekend! Italian Chef aka Charles Infosino :chef:

  13. I too miss the Hanna-Barbera characters..........VERY MUCH! Have a great day! Italian Chef
  14. I just got confirmation.....this is our show! Have a great day! 15. I called Morning Star to confirm that this is the show we made last year. They themselves don't know yet because the Travel Channel didn't notify them. Once I know for sure....I'll post it as I want everyone to see my 2 minute exclusive interview. Have a great day! Italian Chef :chef:
  16. First off, I'd like to thank everyone for their opinion as it's not an easy decision to make. If my wife is healthy enough and a trustworthy friend of ours will stay with her in my absence...I'll be there opening day. If my wife is not doing well physically and/or I can't find a trustworthy friend to stay with her in my absence...I won't be there on opening day, but after my son is born. If I'm at the park and I get a call that my wife is going into (2 weeks early) labor, I will exit the park and go home immediately. Have a great day! Italian Chef :chef:
  17. I plan to ride FoF first because it's lines are the longest of any ride at PKI. FoF is my second favorite ride and I hate its long lines. After FoF, I'll probably head to my # 1 ride...The Beast! Have a great day! Italian Chef :chef:
  18. I am very excited about the parade and wonder what the parade will look like. Last year PKI introduced Nickelodeon character breakfasts and this year we will have Nickelodeon parades. Is it just me...or is PKI becoming more Disney-like with the use of Nickelodeon and other things???? Have a great day! Italian Chef
  19. Mr. Hogan won't be visiting PKI this year...at least he isn't scheduled to anway. Please keep in mind that Mr. Hogan is not only pitching Crocodile Dundee's Boomerang Bay for PKI, but for another Paramount's Great America as well. I'm most certain that Mr. Hogan is filming both sets of commercials simultaneously. It wouldn't surprise me if PKI hired an actor who resembles Crocodile Dundee (Paul Hogan) on Media opening day as they hired look-a-likes of Lara Croft (Angelina Jolie) and Forrest Gump (Tom Hanks) for TR:TR and Bubba Gump Shrimp Shack respectively. Have a great day! Italian Chef :chef:
  20. I've seen the DAFE site before and appreciate the fact that Phantom Theater still lives on the web. I hate to beat a dead horse, but I really do miss Phantom Theater. I wonder what PKI will do with the music and figures. They were supposed to be on auction this year...but to my knowledge weren't. Have a great day! Italian Chef :chef:
  21. No more whale, no more animals, no more DC Comics names and theming, no more Batman show, and no more Looney Tunes. Why in the heck should I ever visit that park now? All my reasons for liking Geuga Lake are gone. I don't need to travel to Aurora for their 10 coasters, since PKI has 12 better ones close to home. I really wish that Six Flags never bought Sea World in the first place. Ohio no longer has the prestige of a Sea World and won't even have a major marine life park. In conclusion, as a Looney Tunes-DC Comics-Marine life fan, I think this is bad thing. However, as a PKI fan, I think this is a good thing because if I'm upset about the loss of SFWOA's themes....other people will be too. Don't expect me to visit Geuga Lake anytime soon. No whales, no DC comics theming, and no marine life mean no Italian Chef visits. The only positive thing I see for Cedar Fair is that they won't let people visit both parks on the same season pass. If they would, that would burn a hole in their bank accounts. Have a great day! Italian Chef
  22. There's a slight chance I'll make it because the baby isn't due until the end of April. I'd feel guilty about leaving Mrs. Chef alone in case an early delivery. But I REALLY REALLY REALLY miss PKI. What to do??? Have a great day! Italian Chef :chef:
  23. Greetings MommaBeast, I have been told that PKI will do something special for The Beast's 25th anniversary. However, I don't know what. Here are some WILD guesses: 1. A birthday cake shared by ACE members and the media (they've done something similar before). 2. A new paint job (not very likely). 3. They may auction the first ride for charity. Your guesses are as good as mine. Have a great day! Italian Chef
  24. Between Crocodile Dundee's Boomerang Bay and The Beach Water Park, both in Mason, I wonder whether or not Mason will have a water shortage. I sincerely hope not. Have a great day! Italian Chef
  25. I'd be happy to be at the park tonight just to walk around and look at some of my favorite rides, like The Beast. And I wou'dn't mind a few rides on FoF. Have a great day! Italian Chef :chef:
