My warmest memory is dragging my older sister on the Flight Commander (who had never been flipped over on any type of ride at all at the time) under the condition that I wouldn't make the thing barrel roll. Well.. you guessed it... I made it barrel roll and she wasn't happy and slapped me or something, so in response, I flipped the thing upside down and kept giggling the joystick back and forth to keep it upside down for the rest of the ride. Needless to say, she wasn't very happy. The queue line would go through a small underground queue house near the food stands that Drewbari's talking about and then you would spiral around the base of the ride and end up on the inside of the ride. By that I mean that you would be standing with your back to the center of the ride facing outward looking at the cars. They had individual cages for each car what went all the way up similar to Face/Off's. Click here to see the remains of the queue house. These photos were taken with permission of the park, I wouldn't advise going back there and exploring without permission. You may notice that the queue basically crashes into a a cement wall. That was where the staircase began, but the whole base of the of the pad was filled with concrete with the installation of Eurobungee. You can also click here to check out the 1990 media day debut of the Flight Commander. Hope this helps, Ryan

I remember riding it just a few times the season before it sat SBNO for a whole year. To think, it was replaced by a climbing wall that's not even there anymore...

M@ilman pointed it out to me, so he can probably clairify a bit better, but when you're half way up The Vortex's lift hill, if you look to your right there's apparently a support sticking a foot or so out of a footer. Apparently it's near a bush and hard to see..
-
On the contrary, there are pieces of The Bat in the park, just not in a pile. The footers still exist under The Vortex, and there are even a few spots where the supports are sticking out of the ground a little bit.

As you guys have seen, our recent policy has been to move topics of importance to the front page news instead of creating new topics and giving the original poster credit. As a result of this, we ask that, if you make a post and you think that it may be something that's front page worthy, please elaborate on it and check your spelling and grammar. The moderation on these forums does reserve the right to edit the spelling and grammar of any post that we move to the front page, but we don't want to elaborate because that's destroying the content of your original posts. Although not every topic is worth bumping the previous news post, if you think that your topic may make it to the main page, at least throw some effort into it and make yourself look like the intellegent individual that you are!! Thanks, Ryan

School Of Rock & Nick Parade Returns
BoddaH1994 replied to PKI_Diana's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
School of Rock looks like it may be THE show of the 2005 season... I'm really looking forward to that!! -
Ah, and RingMaster brings up tough question #3: Since Paramount claims to have family parks but also has suggestive themes, do you think that the rating of the ride should not only indicate the experience, but the theme as well?
-
I always thought that was funny. I mean, you guys could tell by my past posts that I very much in support of conservative values, but I still never got the whole concept of being afraid or hating someone because of their race or sexual orientation.

We're using "Photoshop" as a generic term for any photo editing software.

What are you hitting this summer?
BoddaH1994 replied to Dane's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I think they have some pay-per-attractions on their boardwalk, but I couldn't swear by that. Other than that, you're several hous from Disney.... -
is that a good thing?? sorry some days i think im a blonde...... No, it isn't... truth be told this is probably the stupidest question I have ever heard. It's actually not that bad of a question. If it's a family ride, then a lot of parks will have height max/min requirements. Now, being familiar with the ride and how Paramount Parks operate, we know that it's very unlikely that they'll do something like that. Here's a related question for you: If this ride is supposed to be so family oriented, why is it based off of a movie that really isn't appropriate for younger children? It has a PG13 rating, so if you think about it, anyone who's old enough to see IJ is really old enough to ride pretty much anything in the park.

The photoshop contest will be based mainly on the skill and creativity of the actual picture itself, but it couldn't hurt to make one based off of some infamous dumb post or a long-expired rumor.

from looking at the video (from the tour) Im guessing its gonna be fish tailing on the walls of the auqa duct.... That's the best guess I've heard yet.

The sad part is, he requested that title, we didn't make it up for him. lol Seriously, stop the flame war. Show respect to others' opinions on here.
-
Nah, that was DirtySteve, I only do it by request.
-
^ Impress us? We managed to break the ride twice last year? lol It takes years and years of experience in order to bend steel with your snaps.
-
Well, I can tell you that regardless of pretty much any situation, it's going to be a long line. Hopefully Jeff's right and the load/unload station will help a lot.

Viacom considering splitting into two Companies
BoddaH1994 replied to CoastersRZ's topic in Kings Island
Not necessarily. Since it has never been a pay attraction, it would be hard to sell that to people. -
Brand New Italian Job Video & Historical Photos!
BoddaH1994 replied to Dane's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
Yeah, thank Diana for those... We're so lucky to have such resourceful members who are willing to contribute. -
Yeah -- Tom and I were teasing the idea of bringing some of the best snappers on PKIC (which may be some of the best in the world) down to Carowinds to run a tutorial.

Don't take this as a confirmation of any type, but from what I understand, Starbucks will open when I-Street opens, at 9am, so if we have meeting days, we can always meet there and get wired before we start.

lol... Stan Mikita's had to have been great. Did they have a crazy server there who would say quotes like, "Why is it that if a man kills another man in battle it's heroic, but if he kills a man out of the heat of passion, it's MURDER?"

Yes, but it's not Chipolte. -
Sorry Charles... they all seemed like bombs to me, so I chose not to vote...

House of Blues purchased the Madison in Covington, KY and that's apparently going to be their big project in Cincy. I wouldn't expect a lot out of the Timberwolf anytime soon.
