I don't know if you're thinking of the same thing as me, but I remember a while back that someone posted pictures of what they said was the loop after being dismantled however they were later figured out to be photos of it before construction, slightly altered. If not though, I'd love to see the pictures.

While we're kind of on the topic of logos and next year, anyone else think it would be cool to see the original Kings Island logo around the park next year as part of the 40th festivities? p.s. A water coaster would be epic.

Same information, but from Kings Island's Twitter While there has been relatively little hype and from what I could tell at the park on Friday, no visible construction yet, I am more intrigued now that the park itself is referring to this as a "major new attraction" for the park's 40th and the fact that they are making the announcement on Friday at the park at the beginning of a busy holiday weekend. Gives the impression that they are proud of what they are announcing as opposed to posting the new attraction on Facebook at 3 AM...

Sandusky Temperatures late October
Delirium13 replied to kingsrattler's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I was at Cedar Point last Halloween and the temperature started off pretty chilly in the afternoon, but by the time the sun went down I was wishing I had brought warmer clothes. Go prepared, and have fun! -
I can't comment on the Peanuts Playhouse but they are indeed beginning to set up already, even if it's just a little bit. I was there Friday and they have Tombstones outside of the entrance and the black curtain type things were being hung up in the Tower Gardens for the Cemetary haunt.

^ I wouldn't get your hopes up.

You missed my favorite part! It was all that and then it finished with "Welcome to the Son of Beast". I always thought that sounded cool the way they said it for some reason.

McSalsa's Coaster Adventures: Coming In HOT (Holiday World 8/21/2011)
Delirium13 replied to McSalsa's topic in Trip Reports
Great trip report! I made my first trip out to Holiday World a few weeks ago and cannot wait to go back. All 3 wooden coasters were amazing but I was slightly disappointed with the Raven (started off a little lackluster but got really fun towards the end) and the Voyage (fun but beat the crap out of us and we were in the front). The Legend however proved to be my favorite of the trip and one of my favorite roller coasters overall now, I was blown away by it, I was surprised that of the three coasters there I had heard the least about it. Unfortunately I didn't get to ride Wildebeast as it had a 1.5-2 hour wait the whole time I was there but the waterpark was awesome as was Pilgrim's Plunge. All things said Holiday World lived up to the hype for me. -
I don't know anything about how often they change the wheels but when I rode last Tuesday I didn't notice any rattling and I was sitting in the last row. When i got off I looked at the wheels and they seemed to be new - I remember looking at them after getting off a "bumpy" ride earlier this year and the wheels looked pretty worn down, so I don't know if all three trains had their wheels changed (or honestly if they were changed or it was just my imagination) but the two rides I had last week were very smooth.

Glad they aren't giving up on CornStalkers. I think it's a neat concept that's just lacking the right execution (of course that could be said for a few other mazes as well). But after seeing CornStalkers at Cedar Point, I realized how much potential the idea has, can't wait to give it another shot. Side note, seeing that picture of Curse of the Crypt has me feeling nostalgic. I loved that maze, it was my first maze at my first FearFest. Wish it was still there.

More detail in her trip report.

Thanks for the trip report, glad you had fun! I'm also very happy to hear that they're still working on the ride program for The Crypt, using the lava pit, ice, etc. is great to hear. How long does the ride last now?

Starlight Spectacular @ Canada's Wonderland
Delirium13 replied to vortexfan's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
While I agree that the Canada's Wonderland Starlight Spectacular is quite amazing, I don't think your description of KI's is necessarily fair... -
Adventure Express opened in 1991, 2 years before Paramount purchased the parks, so I don't think that's likely unless Carl Lindner was planning on paying for the rights to Indiana Jones, which isn't likely. I could be wrong though. Side note while we're on the topic, all the red lights were on in the 'Volcano' tunnel of Adventure Express when I rode last night, a welcome improvement over an empty tunnel but I'd love for them to add some fog or something.

No, but I was there today and really like it. It's a perfect fit. Edit - Sorry, I know that wasn't helpful.

Starlight Spectacular @ Canada's Wonderland
Delirium13 replied to vortexfan's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I was just about to come here and post a topic about this! Canada's Wonderland's Starlight Spectacular does truly look like a Disney' Quality light show. Some pictures can be found here: https://www.canadaswonderland.com/events/event_detail.cfm?event_id=751&ec_id=12 -
Very nice report, I visited Chicago a couple years ago for a little weekend trip and had a great time! So much to do. Loved the video, brought back some memories from my trip. And yes the Skydeck is quite an experience, very cool!

Wow! Thanks for taking these pictures. I think one of the things I've been most impressed with this season is that the theming on the rides is actually improving the further into the season we get. I've been to the park 3 times this year and each time I notice something new, and each visit has been better than the previous one because this attention to detail does make a difference and I'm ecstatic that they seem to get that. Not only are they bringing theme back that was already there, they are getting creative with what they have, little things like the landing strip on Flight Deck. My last visit was 2 weeks ago and I noticed that only the colored lights were on in the hangar area, but the rest of the queue once you got into the saucer was nowhere near what it looks like in those pictures. That's a lot of improvement in 2 weeks (in the middle of daily operation!). I cannot wait to see what is in store for the rest of the season! Great job to everyone at Kings Island!

Great pictures, thanks for sharing! I'm planning on making a trip out to the Cincy Zoo sometime this week to check out Night Hunters, I can't wait.

This choice seriously has me very excited! I half expected them to go with a Cedar Fair insider, but, as others have said, the idea of a former Disney executive being in charge of Kings Island and the other Cedar Fair parks has my mind thinking of the many possibilities, improvements in theming, attention to detail, food quality, etc. Maybe I'm getting a little ahead of myself... But I wish Mr. Ouimet the best of luck and look forward to what he may have in store for the parks!

I thought there seemed to be more colored lights when I was there last Tuesday, though I doubt any more were actually added, it's nice to see them used. It also appeared that the computers and such around the UFO had finally been dusted!

S&S Worldwide purchased Arrow when it went bankrupt and supplies parts for Arrow rides I believe.

Windseeker & Coney Mall Construction Continues
Delirium13 replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
Oh the speculation that happens when a ride is delayed. Test dummies falling out of WindSeeker during testing could become another "Vortex is sinking" type of rumor. When someone asked whether it was true that a dummy fell out during testing, Kings Island answered simply with "No." -
Dinosaurs is Coming to Life!
Delirium13 replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
Footlong Coneys are back at Kings Island! I hope you can buy these outside of the area too: Footlongs Edit: The food items are sold at various locations around the park... The footlongs are sold at Coney Mall Skyline. -
This isn't in the park, but while looking up the weather I found some evidence of Paramount still around at Weather.com
