  1. ^^ Do you have a link to the news source? I cannot find info on it anywhere.
  2. That is completely understandable, and unfortunate at the same time. I had the same feeling with The Bat back in the early 80's. But it didn't happen on just any coaster. It happened on a coaster that has an extremely poor record. I don't see how all of SoB's "incidents" can be "coincidences" given the amount of coasters Worldwide.
  3. You are correct, none are in SoB's class. They have not had the issues or injuries SoB has had and most are still operating- for a reason. Oh, and I thought this discussion was about wood coasters. Anyway, just because there are more steel coasters being constructed does not mean wood coasters are becoming rare as you previously mentioned. Aside from that, the money that woud be invested for a SoB TG treatment could very easily be used to construct another fantasic wood coaster. That would solve your "rarity" concern.
  4. Now take a step back and think about what you just said. Why would SoB hold those records that long? Is it because SoB is that grand of a coaster? Or is it because other parks don't see the big deal in breaking records? The wooden coaster is becoming more and more rare. Given your 10 year watermark (2000-2010), there have been 57 new wood coasters constructed. I do not consider that number to be rare by any means. (source- rcdb.com) In steel coaster catagory, this discussion has been about wood coasters.
  5. Now take a step back and think about what you just said. Why would SoB hold those records that long? Is it because SoB is that grand of a coaster? Or is it because other parks don't see the big deal in breaking records?
  6. Absolutely it can be said. Some may have considered the ride rough, but every wooden roller coaster is to an extent. It has been up for ten years now, and still holds 2 WORLD records (and it started with 3). I think we take that fact for granted. The ride may have its issues, but it gives a superstar to the park. I know Diamondback is great (I love the ride), but it's not setting any world records like SoB. SoB had been standing for 10 years. Has it been up for 10 years? No. Does the ride have issues? That is an understatement... Holding a world record does not make a coaster enjoyable or good. There are countless coasters that have never been close to any type of record, and are absolutely fantastic coasters.
  7. TG was considered one of the best, if not the best, wooden coasters in it's prime, so an improvment/ rebuild of this magnitude is warrented. Can the same be said of SoB?
  8. It was mentioned that the video was not going to be like the actual show, you just don't like to listen and still argued (to this day) an opinion that had no basis. Nothing has happened. Get over it.
  9. ^^ I think having the name HH across the board, excluding CP due to a "tamer" halloween event, is simply a cost issue. It is cheaper for advertising, souveniers, in- house sings etc. As far as why not call it FF? The name change is probably due to a seperation between CF & Paramount, or like you mentioned, contractual obligations. Can it be considered leeching? Sure. Most industry franchises do the same thing.
  10. It is not considered a bad thing, yet, when an opinion/ speculation become fact, there is no reason to continue with "what if's" and "could- haves" to defend it. People learn from interviews. People learn from voting. If you don't learn from these things, then continuous improvment will not be achieved. "What if's" & "could- haves" leave a status quo environment.
  11. Many things have Christian origins, that does not make it a holiday as you previously claimed.
  12. Could have, should have, would have. Nothing has happened. Get over it.
  13. First, I have not added or subtracted any of your quotes. Second, it is unethical to go back and edit posts to change your meaning. You should think about what you want to say before you say it. If negativity had nothing to do with it, than why comment that "positive results far outweigh the negative"? That makes no sense. Saving 30 trees and being an boy scout instructor is nice, but it isn't even close to the same level of being a manager of an institution that deals & decides customer service and the concerns of the public. Again, the words. I never said security had been increased only due to the Half Pint Brawlers, or even partially due. Not once did I claim towards knowing inside facts about the park's operations. Added for emphasis. It's hard to argue black and white- or red in this case. Nothing has happened. Get over it.
  14. Then why decide to become a manager? Institutions get robbed all the time, and it's not the desk clerk that has a gun to their head to open the safe- it's the manager. Do you have an example of an event that you decided against, as the manager of an institution, that could have had a negative result? Midget wrestling was here WAY before it was at KI. To say that CF made it a great thing is actually insulting to the wrestlers themselves and the show they put on as their livlihood, whether or not you agree with it. Security at HH has always been questioned due to the crowd it brings in a small amount of time.. To assume that security was only increased due to HPB without inside knowledge is simply grasping at straws. In response to your edit add-on: No, it is not unbelivable that you have not changed your opinion on HPB. It is unbelievable that you still carry on as if you want to have something happen as it "could" happen. Nothing has happened. Get over it.
  15. WOW! Please tell me you were only trying to be sarcastic. Halloween is NOT a Christian holiday. November 1st, All Saints Day, is a Catholic holiday.
  16. This has got to be one of the stupidest topics started in quite sometime. If anyone thinks that KI is actually promoting Satan when it comes to HH really needs to get their head examined. This whole thread needs a different angle:
  17. You know, it really bothers me, the people who are saying this. There could have been problems. There still might be problems. Had Cedar Fair not handled this event so well, problems of some sort would have been inevitable. For nothing, indeed? Unbelievable. Nothing has happened. Get over it.
  18. There is a possibility that the initial report that the train being launched rolled backward into the station train is incorrect. It could be that the train being launched never rolled far enough forward, and the train entering the station rear-ended it.
  19. Is this an example of: what should not be taken wrong when they are just words on a forum, being abrasive, or are you actually being serious leaving the disappointment in your lack of control and then using menopause as a scapegoat?
  20. Added for emphasis. So you are disappointed in someone for having an opinion, especially after said person gave logical reasons for their opinion? I see many references in your post for how you feel. Should the same disappointment be felt by those who don't agree with you? BTW, the energy spent creating that joke site was minimal. -Browntggrr. (who is not trying to start a flame war, but doesn't drink the kool-aid either)
  21. The .com site was a jacka$$ move, but, there is a sound reason to why it was done. That said, take a step back and honestly ask yourself: "Why would someone take the time and effort to make a joke out of a legitimate fund raiser?" The .org site comes off as a scam itself, and if there were not people on KIC that knew the person leading the charge, I would argue that it is a scam just for how the site is presented. There have been rallies for BD. Articles for BD. Organizations have tried, years ago, to do the same thing with no success. While I applaud the creator(s) of the .org site for their motive, their effort falls way short of people & events that took place sometime ago. Why were those that feel the same way about BD not contacted? They obviously know more people that are willing to spend time and money for the cause. http://www.wkyc.com/news/news_article.aspx?storyid=81336 http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/09113/964731-54.stm I look at it this way: If I am going to a job interview, I'm going in shirt, tie, dress shoes etc., as well as, overly prepared with knowledge for both the interview & the company being interviwed for. To be taken serious, you need to look serious. If you look like a joke, you will be treated as such.
