You know, it really bothers me, the people who are saying this. There could have been problems. There still might be problems. Had Cedar Fair not handled this event so well, problems of some sort would have been inevitable. For nothing, indeed? Unbelievable. Nothing has happened. Get over it.

Knott`s Berry Coaster Accident
Browntggrr replied to Colonel_SoB_fan's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
There is a possibility that the initial report that the train being launched rolled backward into the station train is incorrect. It could be that the train being launched never rolled far enough forward, and the train entering the station rear-ended it. -

Is this an example of: what should not be taken wrong when they are just words on a forum, being abrasive, or are you actually being serious leaving the disappointment in your lack of control and then using menopause as a scapegoat? -

Added for emphasis. So you are disappointed in someone for having an opinion, especially after said person gave logical reasons for their opinion? I see many references in your post for how you feel. Should the same disappointment be felt by those who don't agree with you? BTW, the energy spent creating that joke site was minimal. -Browntggrr. The .com site was a jacka$$ move, but, there is a sound reason to why it was done. That said, take a step back and honestly ask yourself: "Why would someone take the time and effort to make a joke out of a legitimate fund raiser?" The .org site comes off as a scam itself, and if there were not people on KIC that knew the person leading the charge, I would argue that it is a scam just for how the site is presented. There have been rallies for BD. Articles for BD. Organizations have tried, years ago, to do the same thing with no success. While I applaud the creator(s) of the .org site for their motive, their effort falls way short of people & events that took place sometime ago. Why were those that feel the same way about BD not contacted? They obviously know more people that are willing to spend time and money for the cause. http://www.wkyc.com/news/news_article.aspx?storyid=81336 http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/09113/964731-54.stm I look at it this way: If I am going to a job interview, I'm going in shirt, tie, dress shoes etc., as well as, overly prepared with knowledge for both the interview & the company being interviwed for. To be taken serious, you need to look serious. If you look like a joke, you will be treated as such. -

It should be noted that the 2010 offseason has not started. And even when it does on November 1st, don't expect an immediate announcement. The park announced on March 18th that the ride was going to be closed and that there were 3 firms that were looking into solutions & one of those three was deemed unsatisfactory. It was also announced that they were not giving up on the ride. With all the modifications done to SoB, and with rider's safety in mind, patience is needed.

Why were you surprised? Due to the way Cedar Fair has managed their parks in the past, I had expected very heavy security in Festhaus, but a normal level of security throughout the rest of the park. So CF has had park wrestling events in the past with minimal security?

I see Halloween time as an opportunity to enjoy/ role-play/ experience something that cannot be experienced during any other time of year. Can that be considered a double standard? Sure. Is it acceptable in July? No. Is it acceptable in October, IMO I don't see why not.

I am not surprised that the live show is being treated with more humor than seriousness. I have been to numerous WWE events, including front row at Wrestlemania X8 in Toronto. Needless to say, it looks much more "real" on TV with the camera constantly flipping views. Most of the wrestlers are gifted athletes, and are actors.

Where did the informative post mention that the Festhaus was only being discussed? Honestly, some people need to stop looking for a problem.

^ What kind of junk is that all about? Anyway, glad to hear all the commotion was all about nothing.... At least NOW everyone can put the fears to rest.

Upset over a Ferris Wheel? Honestly, no. I don't think they would be upset. KI has so many things to offer, I really don't see a person splitting hairs that close. -

With respect to your comment, if you don't care, why comment? Advertising shoots cost a great deal of money. I have no problem with saving a few bucks here and there. -and- The only ones that really notice that the commercial was not on KI property are enthusiasts. Does it really matter where the comercial was done? -
It is too bad that when people: disagree on something, voice an opinion, and discuss/ debate, it is considered a fight. I feel this thread overall has been an excellent discussion. I learned a LONG time ago that it is in society's nature to disagree. Keep it business-like and never let it get personal. Objectivity and open-mindedness can go a long way...

Have faith and grab a ouija board! There are some tombstones being displayed at HH that refer to other coasters' death and resurrection. I believe it is a knock-off of Stephen King's 'Pet Cemetery' called 'Coaster Cemetery'. SoB has a chance to be a coaster enthusiat's "Elvis".

So I should go back and reread this topic's discussion? Really? Actually there has. While watching A show "Rehab: Party at the Hard Rock Hotel" A midget wresting crew showed up too party, and things go out of control very fast. Also I watch the full episode, After the fight, the Midget wrestling crew was escorted back to their hotel room(being kicked out of the pool area which is where the Rehab Party is). No more then 8mins later head of security was called to a Room for Unknown reasons. Turns out it was their room and these midgets were breaking everything, some of them weren't even drunk!! The reason the fight started was, Midgets were getting too out of hand in the next cabana, getting really loud and just being very rude towards the people around them, also they were trying to get girls that were involve with other guys into their cabana too party. I would like to add, while surfing the internet I found this article. That quote is from Puppet, one of the leaders I guess. Link here Now I hope that those I quoted do not take this the wrong way, as my intention was not to call them out on their opinion. I just wanted to let it be clear that there are some that are offended by the show.

Ok, what direction is the Haunt heading? The wrestling event has yet to happen, and it is already labeled as a wrong direction? How is that possible? If you don't like wrestling, that is fine. But making up things that forms an opinion before it even happens is just as bad as writing off a coaster just because the name is bad or the POV simulation is not thrilling enough. Give it a chance, you could be surprised....

Second, Rehab is not a midget wrestling event. Third, Please tell me you are kidding and could tell that it was scripted like many reality programs.

Undercover Boss filmed at GWL Kings Island.
Browntggrr replied to CoastersRZ's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
In every show, it is very clear where the "boss" is working/ training at. -
If a person was insistant enough and planned ahead, they could get out. Of course you don't think you could get out of DB's seating, there has never been a reason for you to think about it. Believing that the sporadic, unruley guest at HH is somehow tied to KI's actions is unbelievable in my eyes. KI should not be held responsible for a person's actions. Nor should KI decide to not to promote/add an event/ ride because for what a person may or may not do. As there has been no issues with midget wrestling either. Please tell me you are not comparing midget wrestling to porn.

In the examples Gibson and I gave, the park is taking a risk. The actual safety of KI's rides is not being questioned. How is the wrestling event more of a risk than adding a new ride, given that there have been no reported crowd issues at a midget wrestling event, but, we hear and talk everyday of a guest at a park doing something stupid that ends up in an injury or worse? (On a side note- if someone has the drive to do something wrong, they will accomplish the feat.)
