  2. Kudos to KI for knowing you can't do the same thing every year for entertainment. 2011 they make such a fantastic move to entertain people that in 2012 people complain when it is no longer offered. Woulda thunk it?
  3. And some thought midget wrestling would not be attractive to crowds!
  4. A few loose bolts on any structure/ machine sounds dramatic, but is not that unusual due to the constant vibration. SoB had SEVERE vibration that not only caused loose bolts, but numerous issues, including contributing to the support failure that resulted in guest injuries. It should be understood- loose bolts will not cause a structure to sway. They are engineered to sway. If there was no "give" in a structure, it would fall down like a house of cards. Even the Empire State building "gives" about 1.5 inches. The antenna on top of the CN Tower will sway 3.5'.
  5. 15 years for CP as top park? Wow..... No matter how some feel about CP, or how some feel about the awards, 15 consecutive years is a quite an accomplishment.
  6. Weebles wobble, but they don't fall down. That brings back memories. I had a Weeble Disneyland castle/ set as a child.
  7. It appears the attempt to generate interest has fallen on deaf ears.
  8. There is a pic of it gone on CP's FB page, unless it was photoshopped. Or the webcam was down and you saw an old view..... UPDATE- pic was photoshopped. SS is still standing.
  9. Fact: This is not a movie about Terpy: Another Fact: This is not Terpy:
  10. Stay strong my friends. Those who cannot be there will certainly be thinking of the family & all of you.
  11. If you ever wonder why KI has year-round security: http://www.timesheraldonline.com/news/ci_21480152/possible-suicide-attempt-averted-at-six-flags-discovery
  12. Don't mention this to some people. They will still make an attempt to convince you SoB could be seen falling apart while traveling 20+ mph from a considerable distance. I wonder where those folks went? hmmmmm.....
  13. It would be foolish to think that more parks are not on the table/ have been discussed. IMO we will not see a "new" Disney park for at least another decade. It appears to me the current direction is to renovate the current parks (Fantasyland) and add to the current parks (Pandora). On a side note: I would absolutely LOVE to be a fly on the wall in the meetings concerning the ideas for the additions/ ideas for the parks. Even the ideas that are shot down are probably phenomenal.
  14. FD obviously needs an epidural.
  15. Given how reluctant KI has been with the HH info (on FB), I suspect they are still finalizing the operating ride details. I personally would go on a Sunday to experience all the rides. Going on a Friday, you may experience a good handful of closed rides.
  16. While it may have had some kind of impact, promotions like this usually pay off in the future more than the present. i.e. When the family of four comes next year, the two children will be asking for blue ice cream & a hot dog.
  17. Is it worth it? There are SO many variables, it would be impossible for us to guess correctly. Ultimately, it comes down to the almighty buck. Ridership comes into play, as well as how much individual attention is necessary for the ride (this takes away from other rides) to operate. Location needs to also be considered, as in the case of BBW at BGE. That was a PRIME coaster location as we can see with Verbolten. I don't believe the same can be said of FD's location. Typically, CF has long range plans for rides/ areas. They also don't usually install a major new ride in the same area (close together) in consecutive years. Given SoB is coming down, I assume a general makeover for AZ, and the next major project to go near SoB's former footprint. My assumptions can also be full of crap as I didn't anticipate the removal of DT at CP given the last-second decision to remove WC, but if you look back to the decision to remove DD & installing WS you can see how CP planned GK many years in advance. All that said, I don't see FD being removed for a handful of years. (of course since I said that, it's gonna close at the end of the year )
  18. It is not difficult to take a part, reverse engineer it, and make it. We do it all the time in the shop I work at. It will not be cheap, but far from impossible.
  19. *recuperate? The disease may have taken his life, it did not dictate his life.

  21. No words. RIP KIfan1980.
  22. No, and logically speaking, much less than half. The precision necessary to remove a structure like SoB can only be compared to black and white to the precision necessary to construct a structure like SoB.
