  1. Add: The claim of: *That's all I can say* was used 2x by the same member in 2 different posts.
  2. ^ Do you have green fluoresent hair?
  3. I'm sticking with the Mayan calander.
  4. You always down play the employees at the park and it's getting rather annoying. You're obviously butthurt. Just because you didn't enjoy it doesn't mean everyone else feels the same. Just like any other job I guarentee most employees with Cedar Fair enjoy their positions, that is if they have a good attitude. Not "butthurt" at all. I agree with you, but I'm also thinking of it realistically. The summers are hotter than hell here, and often times when they are out there in that heat for 5+ hours it gets to you. Even if they like what they are doing (now) doesn't mean they won't have an off day or two. But again the employees will put on the facade of being happy and friendly which is what they should do. I say this, we should wait till Mid July, mid August and see if the Awesome Attitude is still there (Which it must likely will but not as great as it was on Opening Day/weeks afterward). You are right. I hope the current trend is the norm, but the park has been open a handful of days. Once the daily grind sets in, and the "new" job has worn off, it will be intresting to see if the happiness continues.
  5. When CF purchased the Paramount Parks, many were critical. They feared change, which is natural. Most were used to "PKI" and not "KI" from the 80's. I believe the changes have been positive and well thought out- to the point where some were unhappy with how long it took to change things. Knee jerk reactions or change for the sake of change often does not work. KI is a big place. It takes time to see what works for the park & for the guests. The park is slowly reflecting what it was like during the 80's: attitude, cleanliness, fun, food, etc. The 80's were 30 some years ago, so believeing the park will be just like then is unreasonable, but I am still excited to see what will change in the next 5 years. I don't drink the kool-aid and applaud Mr. Kinzel for pulling the trigger to get what he considered "the jewel". His vision is becoming reality and will only get better with Mr. Ouimet.
  6. I heard someone make a claim the president of a local company gave them inside/ sensitive information minutes after their first ever meeting. This information came just days after a local media source had an actual quote from a high ranking park official that: "no decision has been made." EDIT: This has made Screamscape, only reinforcing that the claim is crap.
  7. ^ Similar to Steel Phantom/ Phantom's Revenge at Kennywood?
  8. ^ Strike that, reverse it.
  9. I'm glad that nobody was injured during the storms. It sounded rather violent. Did the park alert guests to seek shelter?
  10. Being obsessive complusive about FL has a rather good chance to ruin your day at the park.
  11. ^ That is the kind of stuff that only proves I have the smoothness of a blacksmith when it comes to being PC.
  12. That sounds better than: "Wildcat suffered another accident during the pre-season test cycle and it was determined to be dismantled as opposed to being a safety issue." Granted- that may be a bit dramatic, but I believe the deciding factor was somewhere along those lines.
  13. CP will find another spot for those employees. They park goes through employees at a great rate.
  14. I was wondering the same thing. The timing is weird given the amount of time between now & opening day, and since we had such a mild winter, they could have taken it down at almost any given week.
  15. Nice find! That could very well be the video I remember (or don't remember ).
  16. Long waits do not necessarliy mean high ridership.
  17. There was a suspended looping coaster was tried, and I assume, failed. There is a video taken many years ago of an Arrow "test" suspended coaster that did loop and corkscrew. Figures that I cannot find/ or remember where I saw the video.
  18. This is unfortunate, but not exactly surprising. WC has suffered two incidents in 5 years. It does not mean those incidents led directly to today's press release, but I believe it was considered as part of the decision. I am surprised about the last sentence given the current trend of a more family atmosphere. Sure, it does not mean any guarantee of massive coasters, but it will certainly fuel speculation (as if enthusiasts needed more fuel ).
  19. My shocked face:
  20. Thats sounds really healthy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YZ9Yy3NgABY
  21. I'm surprised they have not made up a Smartphone App yet for Disney or Universal regarding FP. .

  23. From DDN in 2011: http://www.daytondailynews.com/news/dayton-news/kings-islands-halloween-haunt-now-open-weekends-1256094.html IMO, KI should not allow guests under 16 without parent supervision for the HH hours. The event is for mature audiences, and the appropriateness of many of the "skits" have been discussed (beat to death) here (KIC).
  24. I didn't realize there was a problem with discussing what positive changes could be made by comparing it to an established system at a similar chain that works. Where did you get that from?
