  1. Tomato...tomato Footer....footing "I never made a mistake, but once I thought I did, but I was wrong." Exactly. That visitor that has no clue what SoB is thus cannot be upset about (or looked forward to) SoB SBNO as has been previously suggested. The park is taking the lesser of two evils by ignoring the white elephant in the room. The same practice was followed by BGW about 12 years ago. Anyone that came to KI only to only "enjoy" SoB is missing out on a great park.
  2. It's called Google, and it took less than 15 seconds. http://www.google.co...iw=1536&bih=718 So driving extensive hours does not constitute research on your destination? How do you know the park will even be open, or what kind of weather to prepare for? You may not, but I, and most people, certainly do. Gaining as much information, and finding the best deals, makes for a happy vacationing family, even if the vacation is for two days. Does SBNO mean it exists? If a tree falls in the forest and nobody is around, does it make noise? But I do have to ask, those you know that do not plan for a 1, maybe 2 day event could not have seen it on the website, so it's a non-issue. Right? Google is your friend. http://www.google.co...36&bih=718&bs=1 Aside from Google, if a road is not on a map, do you still want to drive on it? Or are you going to ask the SoB status question at Customer Service since you saw it on your way in? Again, you could. As I, and most people, certainly know what Beast is. You would be surprised how people's eyes only see what they want to see. Just ask some park employees how often they have to remind a guest not to break a park rule- a rule that has countless signs posted around the park. People need to stop digging/ pushing to find something to be negative about. It's time to enjoy KI's 40th season!
  3. C'mon people! You don't travel 10 hours from home and do zero research? Like people can access information from their phone.... I blame Kinzel.
  4. I am trying to add up the "want" for a failed ownership group to take over for a successful park.
  5. I was thinking the same thing. I certainly hope this does not open the door for seperate admission for SC.
  6. Translated: Fanboy loophole now closed. FastPass now sponsored by Kleenex. Honestly- good for Disney. It is too bad they have to "enforce" something that should be a no-brainer for all guests.
  7. Heh, Marge Schott.... Is it just me, or does anyone hear her name, and just think of her picture with a smoke and a St. Bernard?
  8. I believe the difference is biggest loop (diameter) vs tallest (highest off ground).
  9. http://www.latimes.c...0,2643870.story It will be intresting to see if Mr. Ouimet will start a re-birth of the "coaster wars".
  10. I gotta ask: who voted & what were the qualifications to be selected to vote?
  11. I love the idea, but I don't know if the cost would justify appeasing the "fan boys". Appeasing "fan boys" rarely happens. Too often things (and/ or decisions) like this are harshly criticized by those who have personal feelings tied to the park.
  12. ^ So where would the 3rd train be if one is operating, and the 2nd is starting unload/ load process?
  13. The US has become such a sue happy & ultra sensitive society (with practically everything- Billy Crystal's Sammy Davis Jr. spoof at the Oscars come to mind), no park or marketing firm would even think it. http://www.eurweb.com/2012/03/sammy-davis-kid-dad-wouldnt-mind-billy-crystals-blackface/
  14. As long as there is always a train waiting, pushing a 3rd train accomplishes nothing except a longer wait on the train itself. The purpose of the dual load station is for the load times.
  15. Oh the irony.... A member on an amusement park enthusiast forum that chose the name CedarPointer posting about generic names.....
  16. Much like Mantis (load times) @ CP, adding a 3rd train to FH does nothing to help wait times.
  17. Safety comes in various forms more than just a death statistic. Being trained in recognizing a potential distress issue (like the 10/10 rule mentioned) has to be near the top of the list. Also near the top of the list has to be having the proper equipment readily available if an issue comes up. I hope the Beach is not as bad as the poster/ x-employee made it out to seem. If one serious incident would happen, it could take down a very nice waterpark.
  18. Bat's demise had to do with MAJOR design issues which caused the abnormal downtime. The similarities in issues between the two rides are as close as apples and oranges. Now if you want to compare Bat & SoB......
  19. How does a SBNO ride cost the park so much money it justifies a decision before all avenues have been pursued to open it, or enough revenue has been generated to take it down?
  20. Significant being the key word, yes. Jackass!
  21. Yeah, while channel surfing, I have seen many sentimental people on Hoarders.
  22. I have good memories of my first car ('88 Mercury Topaz- which, thinking back, had numerous similarities to SoB). It doesn't mean I wanted to keep parts from it.
  23. Typically, the pricetag for a destruction/ demolition project has all the possible useable/ valuable material being sold by the demolition company. Unless requested, KI will not see any material saved for memorabilia. That said, why would anyone even want a piece of SoB? A failure that caused pain (literally & figuratively) & spent millions of dollars is not something I would want to be remembered.
  24. If SoB returns, it will certainly retain a "most massive" claim. The "most massive" price tag for a wood coaster on planet Earth.
