  1. Who knows, I don't know anyone that's ever had the regular pass, but I was saying it's of no real negative impact to the park to extend the offer.
  2. I don't think any work has been done back there in a while. They may have pressure washed it. They store trash cans in that area in the offseason.
  3. My wife asked this question last night. I think sales are fine, but there really isn't any negative to extending the gold offer.
  4. Boo Blasters is already a "Cave of Discovery" for the teenagers in the park.
  5. I'm not sure how it's been the past few years, but in the past, the busier days were Saturday and Sunday. The Monday tends to be the lightest of the weekend.
  6. I think it was mentioned that they redid some of the footers, however, I highly doubt they are totally new. Also, please don't correct me and say it's supposed to be called a footing.
  7. I can tell you without a doubt, there are no back roads that are going to save you time. Unfortunately, Cincinnati has very bad traffic at rush hour basically from the I75 cut in the hill all the way up to 275 just south of Kings Island. Occasionally 275 will not be as backed up, but I assure you, if Google Maps or Waze didn't re-route you, then there wasn't an option.
  8. Just use google maps. It'll give you the best route. It's very accurate from day to day. The traffic patterns are different nearly every day. Also, not sure why you would go from 71 to 75. KI is right off of 71N. That is most certainly NOT the way to go.
  9. Kings Island's food department can't hold the jock strap of what the Reds do. They also have the benefit of having a lot of volunteers, less days to work and far less hours. That was why he didn't do it! We're only about 5 minutes from the entrance gate, so it could MAYBE be done in an hour, but it just ended up not being worth it.
  10. My coworker considered getting the dining plan for lunch, and another was going to do it with him.
  11. When I was in Rides, it was up to our discretion. Some are easier to open than others.
  12. All the food is made at the individual locations. They have a central warehouse where all of the food is stored and brought out to the locations between when the park closes and opens. If it's really busy, they may get a delivery of some things during the day, but that's not the standard. @chugh43, when you add in the cost of the food and the lack of quality, that's enough reason for me to leave. I haven't in the past, because I've only gone about once a year in the past few years and I go with my in-laws. I do intend to leave for lunch when I go to the park Friday.
  13. Look at the live cams on their website. I can barely see anyone in the park. These weeks are generally walk on city until the schools get out.
  14. Glad to hear that when my friend and I visit on Friday, we can leave, get a cheaper and better meal, and come back faster than we'd get our food otherwise.
  15. That video could have been me, possibly, I haven't seen it. I would walk out in the line if we had additional staff and recommend that people not wait because it was so bad.
  16. The Picnic Grove? Which is used in some capacity almost every weekend and quite a few weekdays?
  17. You wouldn't rather have Dracula's Haunted Castle instead of Elvira? /s
  18. Bulldoze it and turn it into a campground.
  19. They won't build a resort hotel, I'd almost bet money on it. They had one, it closed, Great Wolf is next door. Campground is a possibility, but unlikely.
  20. The demographics for Kings Island and Cedar Point are wildly different. Kings Island is, and always will be, a family park first. Cedar Point is a thrill park with some family friendly rides. Cedar Point hasn't had a major children's area expansion since 2008 and hasn't added a major childrens ride since 1999. Kings Island continues to win best Children's Area in the Golden Ticket awards every year. Cedar Point has 3 kid friendly coasters, 2 of which require the child to be 48" tall. Kings Island has 4 kid friendly coasters, none that require that child to be over 44" tall. They also have a log flume that your child can ride at 36". Also, Kings Island has invested heavily in the water park since The Beach reopened across the highway. We will get a coaster in the next couple years, but that's not a priority for the park, because they continue to be successful without adding one.
  21. Also, do they count waterpark attractions? Kings Island has had 3 Water Park expansions in the last 15 years.
  22. Back before they were removed, the ride grouping was Scrambler, Tiques, Dodgems. They embraced the acronym.
  23. Granted I don't go to KI, but once per Haunt, but CarnEvil has the shortest line in the park, every time I am there, despite being the first Haunt attraction that you cross.
  24. It's hard to predict, depends on park availability for staffing. Since UC is done for the semester, they'll likely be fine. It was more of a problem when UC's Spring quarter ended in June. Some of the smaller rides in Planet Snoopy might be closed, possibly a flat ride or two. The big thrill rides are the last ones that they will close if they have to. During Math and Science Days the last time I was at the park (2010), I would come in around 10:15 as I got out of class at 9:50 and run The Vortex until noon or so when other people were available.
  25. They were asking if they'll set up another Haunt in that room, which is where Carnevil was held. I would imagine, that if they tore that Haunt out and are investing money in that theatre, they will likely be using it for Winterfest, maybe a kid's themed show.
