Looks great in the video, but we all know it's going to look nothing like that day to day. That's not a KI problem, that's a food industry thing.

WCPO: When the Timberwolf was the soundtrack of summer
teenageninja replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island
I'm sure at one point they have, but it no longer exists. Not to mention the venue up in Huber Heights as well. -
You should be drawn and quartered for this comment.

WCPO: When the Timberwolf was the soundtrack of summer
teenageninja replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island
There are a lot more concert venues in the area than there were before and Timberwolf has the least amenities out of all of them. They don't have a covered pavilion, for example. Their backstage area is not good, and they don't have the booking power that the others do, likely, because they don't have interest in it. It's a big detractor for large acts as well, as they don't want people to have to pay for two tickets to get in. The park, and the concert. -
The first couple weeks of operation tend to be lighter than others, no guarantees, but in general they are lighter crowds. With lighter crowds, come reduced service, though. Some rides may not be open. Honestly, you could probably ride everything in one day without issue, but two days you'd have plenty of time.

The bar behind Hanks' Burrito Shack or whatever it is called now had a couple options from Christian Moerlein and I believe the Reds Hall of Fame had a couple local options at their bar as well.

I think we should bring the Action Zone Friday concert series back. -
They put the trains on the tracks to make it crash harder into the ground.

Perhaps they are tossed in a KI junkyard somewhere instead of being transported out?

Sounds like Jurassic Park at Island of Adventure.
-
It's not everything, but at a park like Kings Island it is more important than others.

You aren't spending money out in the park if you are watching a show. When you don't have other forms of entertainment (i.e. rides) you have to have more shows.

Kings Island Announces 2018 Changes
teenageninja replied to IndyGuy4KI's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
It's basically impossible to enforce. Most people ignore your warnings and by the time security can get to them, they aren't smoking anymore. I would imagine you could ask one of the Chefs on Twitter. -

The reduced capacity as The Crypt certainly didn't help either. -
Kings Island Announces 2018 Changes

I highly doubt the Chef is responsible for the service aspect of the restaurants. He is likely responsible for coming up with new menu items and confirming the incoming quality of ingredients. He probably is responsible for tasting products frequently as well, but as you and I both know, if they know he's coming, they are making fresh food. The problem with Food at Kings Island, it is literally the last place anyone wants to work there. They are getting people who got turned down from other departments. We've gotten into this argument on here many, many times, so I'll spare everyone the bullet points. Basically, the food department is getting lower end employees than other departments and they have to settle for those employees. That's not to say everyone in food is bad, but the vast majority is. Also, if you aren't comfortable with food dyes in your food, you need to eat organic. -
Person Dies at Schlitterbahn Kansas City
teenageninja replied to Oldiesmann's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
More often than not, I tend to look at incidents like these with rose colored glasses. This is not one of those times. The information in the indictment is downright terrifying. One thing that comes to mind is the old Aztec Adventure at The Beach. That ride is nowhere near as tall or fast, but whenever I ride it, I have to hold on to the hand holds on the last drop, because I will come out of the tube. I can only imagine a ride many times larger has a much worse issue. The sad thing, is this guys ego got in the way. He was informed dozens of times that it was unsafe, but kept going. -
If you are going to Disney with your family, is $13-$24 a day really a deal breaker? Disney is not and never will be an inexpensive place to visit. I mean Kings Island charges $20 to drive through the equivalent of a gravel pit.

Partial Roof Failure at Kalahari

Those are absolutely terrible pictures, I don't know how you can claim to see anything in them. -
I'm not sure what the current standard is, but when I last worked in the park, in the summer, the characters were only allowed to be out 15 minutes at a time. They come out from the old Enchanted Theater/ Carnevil Building.
-
There is a 0 percent chance this would have happened. Kings Island's attendance is top 20 in the United States, despite being a seasonal park.

The 1997 flood hit 67 feet, about 6.5 feet higher than this years. US 50 was temporarily closed at Delta Avenue, but due to flash flooding.
-
Son of Beast would have been refurbished, probably to a steel topped track, probably not RMC. Tomb Raider would have been updated to a new theme. IJ:ST would have been rethemed. They would have added more low cost, low capacity coasters.

Riverbend floods almost every single year. Coney floods almost every single year. This is worse than usual, but still par for the course.
-
River is projected to get up to 59.5".

It's almost like this happens ever year... crazy.
