  1. There was a net on the court as well, and it only went the width of the existing court.
  2. I don't know what to say... I went up to the park today for a few hours, and I saw the "tennis court." It's a TINY tennis court, maybe 10' x 10' and it's sitting literally on top of the first fountain "bowl" as you enter the park. I don't know how they're going to "warm up" as the park has described. In fact I don't know how they would even hit a tennis ball back and forth. While I didn't expect much, I didn't think it would be that bad.
  3. What's with all the events going on at KI this year? I'm really impressed by the park's effort in attracting guests. First off, there's the concerts they have. But now, they brought in the Extreme Sports event, Nik Wallenda, Tennis on the fountains, an eating competition on labor day, and the list goes on. Also, up at Cedar Point, there have been several celebrity events this summer, and now they're planning on hosting a Triathlon next year. These parks are turning into more than just amusement parks. Just wondering where this initiative started.

    SOB: Vortex: Nick

Am I the only one envisioning "Pilot Snoopy" in place of Avatar on the gondola for that ride next year?
  5. Wow. So who's changing their last name to Mabillard any time soon? ... *smacks forehead*
  6. I'm assuming they'll somehow build a tennis court horizontally across the fountain. Pretty exotic if you ask me. Of course this also begs the question... what kind of surface will they be on?? I've heard of grass, clay, and hardcourt. What's this? Plywood? Water? Inflatable Raft? I'm intrigued. But good job Kings Island for finding different ways to attract visitors.
  7. ^why? Do people seriously think that because someone's post count is high, they have more credit or value to their posts? That number is pretty worthless in my opinion.
  8. ^right. I've learned the course well enough now that I can lean my head into all the turns. It makes Maverick such a great ride when the bashing is eliminated
  9. ^Exactly what I was thinking. Maverick has small trains but has a pretty good capacity.
  10. I've been on it several times this summer and the launch seemed just as fast as it has in previous years. But I haven't ridden it in a few weeks.
  11. My favorites are Redbeard's Revenge and Massacre Manor. Never done Urgent Scare, but I want to.
  12. ^I love how Jasper's signature is directly above that post...
  13. I like the idea. I'll be waiting for my "tallest poster" award. There could even be a get-together with trophies and such. ok ok, i just want a trophy.
  14. Tower is your favorite time?? I know someone that works on tower
  15. This year the muffleheads were terrible too, especially during CoasterMania weekend. They are different than may flies, for those who don't know. But yeah, when you're going 40+ mph, bug spray won't do you any good...
  16. I said urgent scare. There's something about zombie hosipital scenarios that are just awesome.
  17. This Rivertown Junction sounds fantastic. Not a single flaw to the place. I bet the facade goes well with the gold-paved paths around the park too, right?

  19. I don't think that's the reason... I think it has more to do with the internet providing free news every day. And as for the SoB stories... I agree that Nik Wallenda's walk should definitely have been covered. But I think it's a good idea to let the public know what's going on with SoB, and why. After all, it's been closed for a long time now, and I bet a lot of people went to the park and came home disappointed, not knowing why it was closed all day.
  20. My favorite is Intamin. But I voted for other, as in "Any company that did not design Son of Beast." let the attacks begin!
  21. Well, seeing as the last thread about it got deleted, I figure some people may still want to talk about it. SoB is cleared to open by the Department of Agricuture. Now it's up to the park. If I'm wrong in re-starting a thread about this, sorry.
  22. yeah... avoid front seats of rides in the early morning and late evening. Other than that, keep your mouth closed
  23. I think I agree with you on 4 of those 6... MF, Maverick, Magnum, and Raptor. I love TTD, but it's too much of a one-trick pony, and WT is fun, but not as good as DBack IMO. Magnum is still my #2 coaster. Night rides in ejector seat = <3
