  1. I like how the "Discounted" rate for purchasing parking in advance is $15. Ouch!
  2. I love roller coasters as much as I hate polls.
  3. ^Agreed. But Raven and Legend alone are enough to win it for me (haven't been on voyage... yet. )
  4. Millie Magnum Dback If you don't mind a little pain, Magnum is easily the airtime king. But nothing touches my Millie
  5. Voted for MS. But I wouldn't say that these were the most notorious of all time... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crystal_Beach_Cyclone
  6. 1. Diamondback 2. The Beast 3. The Racer 4. Vortex 5. Flight of Fear 6. Invertigo 7. Flight Deck 8. Adventure Express 9. Firehawk 10. Backlot Stunt Coaster 11. Fairly Odd Coaster 12. Runaway Reptar 13. SOB
  7. Millennium Force for the win (unlike other millie fans...)!
  8. AE ftw. Best mine train coaster I've been on, hands down. BLSC is okay. But it also forced the removal of the eagles...
  9. It's amazing that these things are built in the first place, but it amazes me even more that people are willing to ride them. Especially the trebuchet and the water slide. I just want to smack my forehead. And the kid that died on the trebuchet went to Oxford! .... sigh.
  10. Am I the only one that thinks Volcano is highly overrated? The blast out of the volcano is fantastic, sure. But after that I think it's borderline snoozefest...
  11. ^^^Kings Island tried an Enterprise once... http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=5444 It was a maintenance nightmare. I remember it almost always being down mechanical, because the ride would keep stopping at a tilt, i.e. it wouldn't go all the way down.
  12. I got 7 rides during the morning ERT today, and I was about to get my 8th when it went down mechanical. I waited until about 10:30, and one of the crew members told us it was going to be a while. We saw two maintenance guys carrying in some rather large piping, probably 2 ft diameter, under the station. Glad to hear it's back up.
  13. 90%. Stupid Paul Rudd movie

    Weekend Trip

If you can go all day on Friday and Sunday, that would be better. But if you can only go part of the day on those days, I would just brave it and go all day Saturday, and then part of the day one of the other two. If you're looking for a quick ride on Diamondback you can use the single rider line, but you won't get to sit with your party. Otherwise just wait it out. It has amazing capacity, so even with a full queue it's only about a 45 minute wait. And don't worry about time. With two days at the park you should easily be able to knock out everything you want.
  15. I rode the Crypt today, seeing as I haven't been on it since opening day. I must admit, for a long time I was defending the ride. I really enjoyed it back in April. Granted there's virtually no theming in the main room, but I still thought the ride cycle was good. However, today was a different story. The new program is pathetic! You in a circle (not flipping) backward, then a flipping circle backward. Then that is repeated the other direction, and that's it. What a snoozefest! So I gathered some extremely scientific data and came up with a graph of the ride's performance over time. I hope this shines some light on the situation.
  16. 55 rides on Coastermania saturday.. beat that
  17. Wow, that's unprecedented. Very uncharacteristic of Disney. That will really slow down the flow of traffic in and out of the park... Of course more importantly it's very sad to see anyone die in an accident like this.
  18. Went to the park for a few hours today. The crowd was much larger than I've seen it on a weekday all year. I was still able to get in some decent riding, though. I was only able to get 1 re-ride during the morning ERT, and it had 2/3 of a full queue by 11:00. Ride count: Diamondback: 7 Racer: 2 AE: 1 Viking Fury: 1 Drop Tower: 2 Flight Deck: 1 Vortex: 1
  19. 7-1! I'll never ride another seat. So much airtime on the first drop, and it doesn't bang your head at all.
  20. Close call between Invertigo and Firehawk for me. In the end I think that Invertigo is just too simple. There's really not much to it at all, and if there was one at Cedar Point, for instance, it wouldn't get nearly the crowd it gets at KI.
  21. I'm with Beast1979 on this one. Turbo Drop > Drop Tower. Downward launch + longer ride time. Not to mention the much shorter line.
  22. You make it sound like DT was a good ride at some point...
  23. I've got Diamondback down to a science now. Arms up + legs out + a nice gap, and in row 16, is incredible. I have really long legs though, so I just put one foot down at the bottom of the hills to keep the restraint from going down. Then I just put it back up when I'm going over the camelbacks for airtime goodness
