  1. Come on, do we honestly need to abbreviate Firehawk to Hawk, that just sounds dumb. I mean Top Thrill Dragster to Dragster is one thing but seriously, Firehawk, the name is one word. i think its cool that they close it during fireworks, The Beast is great because you can ride it after them, and it makes it that much more scary.
  2. lol amen to a smooth rollercoaster, i love rough rides, but a smooth one needs to be there so i dont have a headache by the end of the day. and Firehawk isnt really smooth because its not relaxing, when you are laying down in the station going to the loop, it is not comfortable. although during the ride is. and getting stuck in Firehawks station laying down for 15 mins is definately not. so id say Firehawk is smooth, but not so comfortable.
  3. i really didnt have a beef with The Racer crew besides hey were unprofessional, but last visit, me and my friend asked for straws when we had water cups (we mix with lemonade powder). well noone would give us one... wierd. some guy at subway finally gave us a straw, only to be yelled at by his manager or supervisor or whatnot. then when we got to The Racers, the op lady was wearing a necklace made out or tons of straws twisted around together. lets just say we werent too happy about that.
  4. i think that is what they made that for... but its because its Firehawks first year at Kings Island, they never put in speed lanes on the first year rides. but i have had the priviledge of walking down that special walkway for Firehawk. it was an enlightening experience, they even let me put my backpack down there because its gate off inside yay! no 75 cent locker for me...
  5. yes, i have noticed the single rider calling out to the que on Firehawk, thats good they have put fans too... and SOB is running both trains, yay!
  6. sweet, yeah i know SOB has some nice crew people, i got to meet two of the ladies on the tenth when we got stuck in the pouring rain together. and i saw them again when i came back on the 26th. both days were thursdays, and they got us hyped up when i rode SOB too! its just my bad luck in the fact that its always running one train when im riding it seems...
  7. sweet, i hope it stays that way until at least when i visit this thursday... i hate it when we only ride it once because of the rediculous lines due to a one train operation. we waited longer for SOB than for Firehawk, which we walked onto then waited an hour for.
  8. you know i jsut think Cedar Fair and theming dont mix very well... i say we should start a petition for Kings Island to start keeping up on the ride theming, and repair the damage that has been done to its park theming in many areas.
  9. lol i didnt notice any new boats, they are the same ones ive seen since ive been going to the park around 1999. although, i do notice from the pictures from the offseason when congo falls was not operating, the ride is severely rusting. i wonder if they will replace that hill if need be. it looked pretty bad and kinda worries me a little when i ride it now, even though i know nothing will happen, or it wouldnt be operating.
  10. lol i said its my favorie in that it always reliable, i like SOB, and it would be my favorite if it wasnt closeed or running a one train operation all the time. congo falls has never failed me, and is a chance to cool off on a hot summer day (or to dare each other to ride it when its cold, or rainy out). but its not my favorite ride, nor most anyones prolly, but the park wouldnt be the same without it.
  11. heck no! its there so you can cool off without walking all the way over to the waterpark. plus its my favorite ride in that it never closes, and it never has a line. its the only ride where i have never ahd to wait one minute besides for the boat to come up and load us. even on really busy days. plus this ride is a legend, and a ride that everyone enjoys...
  12. i filled out a bad comment form for an employee that was operating congo falls on the 26th, she yelled at these kids that were about 5 that came up the exit ramp because one of them had a diability or something. she had told them to get in rows 2 3 or 4 i think, or something like that. one of them got in the first row, and she really rudely yelled at them for that. they werent old enough to comprehend it... anyways i filled out a form for that, and the fact that i got stuck on Firehawk laying down for about 15 minutes giving me and my friend a huge headache the rest of the day. they said they would be in contact with me, but they have not as of yet. i wold not have worried about it if they wouldnt have assured me they would contact me about the situation. do they respond late, or do you think that they jsut wont respond?
  13. thanks, love the quick responses, gotta hand it to KICentral, we have sucha great userbase with lots of valuable info.
  14. lol yeah, but it has been running a one train operation as of late.
  15. yes, very true, i never planned on going that day. im just pointing out for the normal day that day, it will be packed. if i could go that day for the tour, i would have, but i am unable to go to it.
  16. my main argument is that they crowd Kings Island all showing up those two weekend days, making them very crowded. im not against scouts, but them congregating at a public park on a weekend. they should have one group go at a time so they dont crowd the park... it would be much easier that way.
  17. Out of all i have heard, the red train is always down. when i have been both times, it was closed for repairs, making the line long. it did open for a short time for my visit on the tenth, to later be taken down again because of some unknown reason. id like to know any theorys, or confirmations of days it was/wasnt operating. i was there on the tenth and it wasnt running for half the day. then the 26th, and it was closed all day that day. I really hope they get whatevers up with that train fixed, as one train operation makes for long lines regardless of the day.
  18. that new sob logo is realyl ugly, im sorry. i even like the loopless logo better than that one.
  19. yeah, i saw some like areas with places that looked like they were building something, i heard it might be a place for a fearfest attraction. idk though.
  20. note: dont attend on these days unless you plan on waiting in rediculous lines filled with uniformed little boys in scout uniforms. i still dont see what the hell scouts go to Kings Island for, its nothing to do with their survival skill type teachings.
  21. lol yeah, paramount in its stupidity decided to move the FOF rides for some idiotic reason. because of this, they most likely discontinued all merchandise once the decision was made. add that on to the fact that Cedar Fair doesnt like paramont logo merchandise, anything that was left is now most likely gone due to clearancing of it. Id imagine they will have some new merchandise to go along with the new videos they will be selling shortly, i saw them on my last visit on thursday. they are installed, and they were working on the booth. should be done very soon.
  22. ok i went on thursday, and we rode the last row, last car, and lets jsut say, it went from my visit on the tenth of this month as very smooth, to horrible. i wouldnt reccommend that seat to anyone with a working brain. i love the ride, but seriously, that was too rough, and ive never said that about it in a negative sense. ill be riding it towards the front next time.
  23. lol this topic is kinda useless now that both are running and operational. i went yesterday, and rode both. i too was there tuesday the tenth, and saw the red train running for a while, but it was then taken off later. i was there yesterday, and sufficing to say, it was a different ride than the tenth, way more rough. and the red train was still out of service making the line forever long.
  24. heh, just yesterday i got stuck on Firehawk. we wer in the front car, and we went through a full cycle, and were ready to come up into the sitting position to get off, except it didnt go up. we were there for a bout 10-15 minutes. they had a lady asking us how we were doing, and telling us to hold on that if they couldnt get us out automatically they would manually do it. eventually, we got out and continued on our journey. although it gave me and my friend a major headache. i cant complain though, we walked on Firehawk as the park opened at ten. and we just walked there, no running involved.
  25. my local theatre just installed a digital screen in one of its spots or rooms or whatever you call them. its number 12. it says dig: in front of the movie name, it doesnt have those stinking spots or whatever, and is so much clearer. i saw transformers on it just last sunday.
