jondrewfoo replied to ralphmtsu's topic in Kings Island
of course noone is going to be there on tuesdays, as it is a slow day, unless you are ordering dominos piza, in which you may experience delays for their 2x tuesdays! its the new friday! -
What is the best day of the week to visit KI?

@ interp, at least i got the point across... i think thats what matters here. Id love to attend an empty thusday, but im in the process of moving, so i probably wont be going to the park for a good while, or specifically until thursday, July 8th... -

i certainly cant be quoted as being totally accurate, but i do know this from previous visits. Stay away from days that have special events, or around special events (like july 4th... and the weekend following as someone else so kindly pointed out...) i tend to also agree with the middle of the week as the best time to hit the park. tuesdays, wednesdays, and thursdays seem to be the least empty, although in july the park tends to be quite crowded on any given day as it is the heat of summer. Im going thursday, july 8th and i hope it isnt all that crowded, but then again im going with a group of about 1,500 people that day... -
i can attest, as my brother is autistic and cant stay in line with a ton of people around, last year when we went, we would take the boarding pass and get it stamped and then come back in the alloted timeframe. I do admit though, that although the policy was in place last year, the kids working there did not know how to use them. the only people who did, were those running Firehawk. The Vortex crew just was confused when we showed them the disability guide and let us on right away, even though there was a ten minute or so line, and same with The Racers and a few others i cant remember.

as of last year, i believe if you have the ticket you used from that same day, you can use that towards the price of a season pass, but only how much you paid, so if you paid 20.00 for the ticket you would only get 20.00 off, it tells you how much you paid for the ticket on the actual ticket, and id imagine free or reduced price corporate tickets for special events may not apply. again, this was last year, things change and i would wait for another response or call the park to make sure...

it is good to note, that while you cannot buy those tickets for the same price after whatever the set date in june, you can however buy them now and they are good any public operating day this year.... if i didnt have a season pass, id do that...

boomerang bay closes promptly at 7 every day i believe... and the park never has fireworks unless it is open until 10 pm or later, that is a known and posted fact...

i love how i come back to the thread that is about Pepsi, and everyones talking about dr pepper vs. mr pibb... I also knew about the Dr. Pepper, my dad corrected me from when he worked at a Pepsi plant
-
that is what i figured, im glad as i prefer Coke, although i wont ever buy one inside the park.

I noticed this while at school. In our Pepsi machines, specifically the ones that sell 12 oz cans have discounts to many places on them periodically. Even though my town (Fairborn, right near dayton/beavercreek) is quite closer to Kings Island the cans do not have any promotions for Kings Island whatsoever. They do have 2 different designs on the Pepsi cans, one designed for Cedar Point and has a Cedar Point discount, and another for coney island, but no Kings Island. Could this further the discussion that Kings Island will not be switching to Pepsi any time in the near future, or is it just a coincidence that they do not have Kings Island Pepsi cans? Could there be a Pepsi can with a Kings Island promotion?

i second the cargo shorts, they are life savers, its amazing how much stuff you can fit in them!

once, with friends, we played slaps while in line for millenium force. when with others, ill chat with them. When im by myself however, sometimes ill just stand there and think, other times when im really bored ill pull out the cellphone, turn on bluetooth, and find random people with bluetooth on and send them stupid pictures of things like laundry detergent and cool whip. its kinda funny expecially because they are almost always visible, and actually accept the transfer.. lol

id really like to see bumper cars that can really bump! the current ones at Kings Island are quite unenjoyable... the ones at coney island are pretty sweet, but the best ones ive been on had to be the dollywood bumper cars, dang they were quick.

id imagine to encourage more and more guests from farther locations they offer steeper discounts... daytons much closer than louisville...

Top five things you'd like to bring back/change

noone wants The Bat to come back? im surprised... -
a little off topic, but my schools band is going to a competition down at Cedar Point today. Very odd, as we live much much closer to KI than Cedar Point...

bring in the premade koolaid/country time lemonade powder mixes in the plastic jar type things. you just mix that with water that you get for free, and have instant lemonade/koolaid! i do that all the time...

i noticed this, i think they made a small goof in the Kings Island fact sheet. 1979 – The Beast® opens, known around the globe as the highest, tallest and longest wooden roller coaster in the world. (Currently holds the world record for being the longest wooden coaster in the world, second only to Son of Beast.)

i really think that they should have something on the back of the ticket that says something along the lines of Kings Island reserves the right to close early due to low attendance or weather phenomena beyond our control. I would be so ticked if they closed the park while there were no lines, thats exactly the days i choose to go. i never go on a weekend or a normal day, i choose the odd tuesday and thursday with a chance of rain.

i love it! theres nothing else id rather be then stuck on a ride, preferably in a tricky spot. I liked being stuck on Firehawk. that was great! I envy those who have been on Tomb Raider: The Ride (The Crypt) and got stuck in free swing.

this has got me excited! i hope its about the early ride days for gold/platinum pass holders!
-
and no doubt unless there is a tornado warning or some other natural disaster it will be pretty crowded opening day. i tend to avoid them, ill go one friday in may!

sweet so you can shop now before 10! before you could just stand there or rent a wheelchair or get a picture, that was all.
