yes, it was 1982 i beleive, because of the bats mechanical problems they hyped up the people perturbed at The Bat being closed that they decided to have one racer car backwards for one season... which obviously wasnt the case because of popularity.

heh, on a more serious note, anyone know what time the Son of Beast has been opening the last few days? it started at around 1:45 every day for the first few, but id hope it opens earlier... i wanna ride it first thing...

heh, i want to get stuck on a ride... i think it would be a fun experience... like for a long time, not just a stop to get the trains in sequence... maybe im jsut wierd, bbut i kinda pray i get stuckas im goin up big rolercoasters... i want to get stuck!

i did that with The Beast as well, but only 13 times... it was fun, there was noone in the park pretty much, it was walkon along with everything else... it was fun. i love The Beast. also, not me but my brother and sister rode The Racers 32 times in a row, the same day. i had to watch over them,and i got bored after the tenth time so i just sat, and counted them go as The Racer people made you walk around even though there was noone in line....

i thought i read something about the coincidence, that intamin reccommended a part that had nothing to do with the incident for the rides, and that Kings Island jsut happened to not receive it yet.

has anyone rode it today or know what time they opened it today, he past few days has been around 145-2ish. im gonna be there right when it opens, and want to know is this gonna be a trend for a while, im going on tuesday...

id hope for a KICentral Kings Island exclusive day... but id say it is something to do with one of the two websites, KICentral, or Cedar Fairs Kings Island website.

hmm... interesting... i vote for a remake of The Bat coming to Kings Island! but it wont happen... have to stick to my bat promo video...

heh yeah, not too long ago i downloaded the dvd rip of that episode, it is an amazing historical video of the park. to see it in its second year of operation, in such great quality video for the time... amazing!

dang, i planned on riding it first thing when i go on tuesday, it would seem that wouldne be possible, as i get there at the opening time, 9:30.

anyone that ride it know if the on-ride photo was working?

hehe exactly, it could be shut down again if they find something wrong with it... which is why im going to ride asap a bunch of times... just to make sure. hopefully we dont have another The Bat on our hands...

oh boy, im going tuesday, and forget Firehawk, im going straight to Son of Beast!, and im gonna ride it like 4 or 5 times at least. i love the Son of Beast, ive been waiting so long for this....

heh sorry, i dunno what i was thinking when i wrote that, it didnt even make sense to me either...

out of all the people i know that i talk to enough to talk about Kings Island with them every once in a while, they all plan on reriding the Son of Beast once it opens again. its the target audience it appeals to. its for extreme thrillseekers and because of that, there is a good percentage that didnt even ride the Son of Beast when it was open. they will continue to not ride it. the thrillseekers i think will flock to it like herds because they love the thrill of it, and know that the danger of getting hurt is minimal. as long as it is open, i think this will happen.

So, I have done a lot of research on Kings Island, and especially The Bat. It seemed like such a neat ride, all i can find about it wants me to be able to go back in time and ride it, but it was before my time... Ive discovered plenty of info on it, including pictures, plenty of facts like The Bat caused The Racers to be turned backwards inadvertantly, and that it was closed down constantly because of its poor banking, and the brakes were not great either. so much that the progress of The Bat was in the local paper everyday. i wonder if anyone has any personal stories of them riding The Bat, or maybe some pictures or maybe even a video. i have a onride promo video i found, and it was really neat, but any info on it would be appreciated.

i saw on the other site, that a reputable poster pointed out that the closed sign was replaced with a human greeter. that tells me its ready to open...

dang, 10 bucks for the photos... last one i got was Son of Beast, and it was only 7... prices just go up i guess.... heh when i go my group gives us those stupid free "dora bucks" that we can spend throughout the park, ill prolly buy an orp just because everything else pretty much is temporary adn they give you exactly ten of them. btw how much are the tshirts?

plus that would take away the reason to ride it. i would be way less inclined to ride the ride if they did that. wouldnt be near the same ride. i just dont think woodens were made to have the steel tubing that makes the gemini so smooth, it was ok but i would have liked it better if it didnt have that.

and this had to do with Son of Beast testing how? this thread has gone off topic... if you want to complain about The Beast being jerky, go do it in the appropriate thread, or better yet, dont ride it! if its not for you, dont do it... geez.

i really miss the old log ride, that they transformed to the retarded nickelodeon wild thornberrys ride. and the antique cars... if i were older, id say The Bat, because the more i read about it, lok at the photos of it, and watch the onride video of it, the mroe i want to ride it.

heh, what people forget, is the fact that a lot of people actually like the roughness... i personally think the smooth rides feel like a confined car ride to me... at Cedar Point, with its monster smooth rollercoasters, it just wasnt the same. i lvoe The Beast, and the Son of Beast, with their roughness, thats why i ride them!

id definately say friday, sunday for me has always been too busy for my liking. i tend to avoid the weekends, but friday is a lot better imo than sunday.
