  1. She doesn't particularly impress me, at least from the neck up. I prefer blondes, and, I must say, the girl in Flashback Totally 80s is better looking than KK. But, as long as we are all dating ourselves (boy that doesn't sound right ) noone will ever top Marcia Brady as far as I'm concerned.
  2. I say 13 as long as there is a way to communicate with the parent. But if they get out of line, the park should revoke their passes. I know that I was 13 when I first went without my parents and I never had a problem either. Wow!! Listen to me, I just gave myself three more seasons with my kids, then I suppose I'll be going alone.
  3. Exactly. The parks are private property and the owners should be permitted to set their own rules. Inevitably there will be an incident with a gun in a park if this policy remains. Imagine a gun in the mix during the incident at the Tea Cup ride last year.
  4. The sad thing is, there are attorneys out there who would claim that tripping over my own two feet was somehow the park's fault.
  5. Really. I tripped getting out of Vortex earlier this year and hit my elbow on the train. Guess I should have prepared a press release. LOL.
  6. Like the Gold Pass parking lot, which is rarely, if ever, monitored anymore........
  7. As of last Monday, Wildcat was up and running.
  8. Sadly, there already is: http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/4...goes_after.html
  9. A (former) Bengal in trouble with the law? What shocking news...
  10. That may or may not be the reality of the situation, but people's discretionary spending is certainly influenced by emotion and perception, probably more than reality... If the economy/taxes/gas prices/are uncertain, why would someone buy a season pass or plan a park trip if they fear/perceive that there is a possibility that they won't be able to afford the cost of using the pass or taking the trip in the future? IMO, regardless of which candidate anyone may or may not support, or what any particular politician is presently proposing for our nation, the uncertainty of the political and economic climate in the country presents a serious challenge to those who own and operate parks. They are faced with the question of how to convince the consumer that "in these uncertain times, you can still come to our parks, have an enjoyable and entertaining time, and do it in a manner that will not drive you into bankruptcy." The entire park industry is facing a boding challenge and I hope they address it well.........
  11. I was exaggerating with the "whole day" part of that post. I just think those three are better than TTD. But she is entitled to her opinion, as we all are.....
  12. And we have people (one in particular) running for President of the United States who want to raise our taxes, taking even more money out of the pocket of the consumer, thereby reducing discretionary spending and hurting the park industry even more........ --Beatle, not intending to be political in violation of the TOS, but merely attempting to discuss the potential future of the park industry in America today....... Edit: To make my point clearer: If people believe that their taxes may increase next year, they will be less likely buy season passes or plan amusement park trips that they fear they will not be able to afford and the industry will suffer greatly as a result.
  13. Having spent time at CP recently, I must say that she apparently spent her whole day in line for TTD and missed Magnum, Maverick and MF.
  14. My kids are already clamoring for me to "take the whole clan cross country." So, one of these years, I may just pack up the old family truckster and make the trek to Magic Mountain (where the movie was filmed). And I will make sure it isn't closed so I won't need my "Magnum P.I." That's a few years away though.....

  16. And if you have any allergies to pollen or mold, remember that early August is terrible around here in that regard.
  17. I had a physician friend of mine tell me the same thing about the fight or flight response. Seems your body produces testosterone and adrenaline in both situations making the sexual and fear experiences biologically similar. --Beatle, covering his face in the hope that more women will ask for his phone number .
  18. I agree with Brown on this. Security should be there. Diffusing a situation of that nature is a job that is more appropriate for security rather than ride operators. But this year, I've seen far too many idiots in the park get away with far too much while security does far too little. I feel for sorry for the kids who were working at The Beast that night.
  19. I like it! A very good idea and a long time coming. Especially when a single drink costs almost $4.00.
  20. It's a bad idea. The people who would try to immitate the stunt would, like John, probably be drunk. It would start innocently with one member of the group asking if anyone saw the guy climb the tower. Someone else would say that it was easy to do, one of his friends would dare him to try it himself, and a few minutes later... SPLAT!!!
  21. And always remember that we never know what's going to happen, and any of our trips to the park may be our last..... Based on my experiences, I always try to treat every trip that way!!!
  22. I must agree. I wonder how many miles I walk in a full day at the park.....And, yes, my physician told me that actually was exercise. He was happy that I had lost weight and my pulse and blood pressure were lower. I told him I had been going to KI a lot with the kids and he said "Exercise and stress relief at the same time...very good."
  23. You might be a KI addict if...your children know the Son of Beast "rider safety guide" recording by heart.....
  24. Stupidity knows no limits. At work, there was a defendant in court for shooting at traffic signals with a shotgun. His explanation to the judge was ,"My wife had a baby that day."
  25. Yeah, climbing a fence should be your first clue that you shouldn't be doing that....
