The Legend, The Captain, The Alien, And the Mod
TheKlockster replied to Captain Nemo's topic in Trip Reports
I told you that air in the back of Vortex is great! Best air I have ever had. Well I have had more intense air on Tornado at Stricker's Grove but it sucked cause it was painful... -
I have to take the long drop airtime - as experienced while sitting in the back of Vortex or Legend. Legend seriously owns Raven because it has more of the type of airtime that I like.

INTAMIN or B&M?
TheKlockster replied to The-Snapper's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Do you mean you find humor in the WORD "obese"? DICTIONARY'D pwnt. -
Not EVERYTHING! But yes - I like to ride roller coasters while sitting in the rear of the train... Anyways - you get more airtime in the back. Vortex is cool because you get good airtime in the back in certain spots - but in the front you also get awesome airtime, but in different spots. Vortex in the front and Vortex in the back are two totally different rides!!!

Yeah that is total crap too. Just don't POV on my ride!

Indeed I didn't like Maverick. He was too much of a ... maverick... I liked Goose, Viper, Jester and Iceman.

Kanonen Liseberg
TheKlockster replied to TheKlockster's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Actually the smaller Accelerator coasters have good reliability. Xcelerator, Storm Runner, Rita: Queen of Speed, Kanonen... It is the giants like Dragster and KingdaKa that are screwed up. -
Actually I like Top Gun in the back. Goose 7.

Kanonen Liseberg
TheKlockster replied to TheKlockster's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Kanonen track length: 1443' 7" IJST track length: 1960' So yeah it is a little shorter than IJST. But I think that it packs a serious punch into a tiny little package. Plus it could be easily themed. Something like this would likely have a 48 inch height requirement - maybe 54. So it might not work for the little ones - like Adventure Express - but I think it still would be good. It would not be an extreme thrill ride - most likely a 4 - high thirll ride. Don't forget - it is basically a miniature Top Thrill Dragster! -
Has anyone seen this coaster? It is a very small and compact Intamin Accelerator Coaster. It operates at Liseberg in Sweeden. It stands about 80 feet tall and has two inversions. It is in a very small area like IJST - but looks like it packs a punch! I wish we could have got something like this with mini coopers on it instead of IJST!!! I would LOVE to ride this!!! This picture is from RCDB and is Copyright Ann-Marie Pendrill

Well I think it is ironic we got the first and the last Arrow Suspended coasters. I am a huge Arrow fanboy though - so I'll stick with the Arrow!
-
It was my lunch and IJST hoodie - but I didn't end up eating my lunch because the employee cafeteria food was just too good to pass up... Actually I was in the mood for something other than a turkey sandwich.

Th3 Admiralz & Lesbirex's visit 10/16/05
TheKlockster replied to LesbiasaurusREX's topic in Trip Reports
Nice pic of Hablo! Never seen him in a blue shirt. That was old school! Vortex/TROIKA ALL THE WAY!!!! BEST RIDES IN THE PARK!!!!! -
Vortex did have an insane line... At times it topped 45 minutes when rides like FOF and TRTR were walk ons...

What should PKI do with the obsolete HB rides?
TheKlockster replied to italianchef's topic in KI Polls
They should be installed in my yard... Or Italian Chef could whip up a good HB Ride over Fettucini Alfredo. -
Sorry Snapper but I voted Thornberries. Two reasons. One and most importantly - ITS AN ARROW!!!!!!!!!!! But two - I hate getting wet.
-
^ LOL Greezed Lightnin is OK - but FACE/OFF owns it. It is more exciting, more intense, more fun, goes upside down three times more often and is bigger. The only thing that I really like about GL was the short line - and the smoothness of the launch. Other than that I rank it up there with Runaway Reptar and IJST...

Yes they are permanent brakes. But the magnets on the gondola create a magnetic field between them. Then they slide over, but do not make contact with, the fins on the tower. This causes it to slow down - but there is no physical contact at all. And why would they attract cell phones? They work in a smiliar principle to LIMs - except they are always on.
-
YES! Someone who agrees Legend is better than Raven!!!!

Yeah the survey asked all kinds of questions about a themed campground. I sent my survey to my stepdad cause I knew he would get a good laugh out of it. He is one of those roughing it guys. In the area it asked - are there any other things you need for a campground - he wrote - all I need is level ground and potable water... Some of those options were crazy. High speed internet hookup at a campground?

I have definately found my share of "highly questionable" items at PKI... Among them, some of the family planning tools as mentioned by PKINickRoedl. I mostly see those at TRTR. Also - believe it or not at Shake, Rattle & Roll I found a ... uh ... feminine hygiene product, that from the looks of it had been used... Yeah... It was sitting on the ground under one of the arms - but it wasn't there as I was checking on the previous cycle - which means someone threw it down during the cycle. I hope to heck they took it out of their purse, poured water on it and threw it on the ground - otherwise - thats disgusting... Lets see - what else - ah yes I found a toupee in a tree near Delirium last season. If I remember anything else I will let you know...
-
^ LOL Actually - that crashed my browser. Java sucks... I take it that it is one of those VR things?
-
I am disappointed I couldn't ride Son of Beast, but I guess it is for the better. It was really getting rough. I thought it was just me.

LOL! They have great support!
