The Legend of The Beast Video
Great job Dare-To-Fly, I highly enjoyed it! Saw a couple of familiar faces in the video! Little over a week now gang, can't wait!

Rock work sign at new parking lot entrance?
Never understood why there wasn't a sign along I-77 for Carowinds similar to ours. The area around that park has built up over the last few years, with the Cabela's store under construction when I was there in July 2014. April 2015, the store was open for about a month at that point. I'd hate to see what traffic looks like during a busy weekend at the park with Cabela's being there using Avenue of the Carolinas. I miss our old sign. Pretty sure Kings Dominion's sign is the original one from 1975. Ours lasted 30 years until being knocked down by straight-line winds.

Disney Succession
Father and Son could run The Walt Disney Company! Father has 40 plus years at Cedar Point! "People Gotta Eat!" because "I'm an Operations guy, not a Finance guy!" At least they could be getting Michael Eisner back...

Rock work sign at new parking lot entrance?
I'm thinking an LED sign that can display messages, similar to our marquee that got upgraded a few years back. Surprising that there's no LED sign on the new tolls.

Kings Island 2016 Discussion Thread
Per Greg Scheid's Twitter account, @KIGMGREG. Looking good! Less than two weeks now until the second most important Opening Day in Cincinnati! Has it been announced how many passholder lanes there will be and if these (I would think) would be automated?

Gold & Platinum Pass Exclusive Preview Night 04/15/16 (5-10 p.m)
Last year...went to Carowinds the first weekend in April to ride Fury 325 and lost my pass. Got a replacement at Kings Island a couple of weeks later. Because I used it at Carowinds before KI, even though purchased from KI, it switched my home park down to Carowinds. Took a couple of minutes for them to get it straightened out. Has this happened to anyone else? See my previous post in this thread.Thank you!

Kentucky Kingdom/ Kings Dominion June 6th/7th 2015
Kings Dominion is a good park. Have to say that Dominator, Volcano, and I-305 are my favorites there. Kinda surprising that I-305 didn't have a wait most of the day. I spent 1 1/2 days in the park over the Fourth of July weekend a few years ago. Longest wait I encountered was 30 minutes at night. The Sunday of that weekend (July 6) it was a walk on and I was able to get 6 or 7 rides in a short amount of time. Thanks for sharing!

Half day was requested back in January for this and it's been approved! See you two weeks from Friday!

Strickers Grove's Teddy Bear
Well you can always cut over to Colerain since Putz's is over off the Montana Avenue exit on I-74 and head up from there! I-74 west to Miamitown exit is a straight shot to Stricker's also!
-
Project 2017?
We'll see you then! And I've never had Putz's Creamy Whip. Definitely will have to check that out sometime. Hopefully no rain like the last time we met up!

Strickers Grove's Teddy Bear
I may hit Stricker's up again on July 14th. Looks like the shortest route from KI to Stricker's is to take I-71 south to I-275 and head west to Colerain Avenue, exit 33. Then north on US 27 to State Route 128, then west from there a couple of miles. In total...29.8 miles from the park.

Project 2017?
Do it. We got Saturday also and the park is closed (as I've seen in the past) the Sunday of opening weekend. It's only 8 or 9 hours from DC to Cincinnati!

Project 2017?
Not sure if mentioned already but per KI's website...season passholder preview night. Friday April 15th from 5pm-10pm. https://www.visitkingsisland.com/events/things-to-do/events-and-promotions/Gold-and-Platinum-Pass-Exclusive-Preview-Night EDIT: I see that a separate thread for this has already been created. Carry on...

Project 2017?
Flight of the Son of Beasthawk or FOTSOB for short. Sorry I had to.

Strickers Grove's Teddy Bear
It's well worth it. A lot of classic rides, plus two roller coasters (Teddy Bear and Tornado) I visited for the first time in 2014 and I highly recommend it.

New for 2016 at Kings Dominion: Delirium
^ I thought that as well when the announcement was made that Shockwave was no longer. Tear down one of the roughest wooden coasters I've ever ridden or the oldest un-modified stand up coaster still in existence? The former was my decision. I'd like to know specifically what they mean by "extensive rehab"

New for 2016 at Kings Dominion: Delirium
Per KD Golden Years on Facebook, Hurler will not operate for the 2016 season.

VR coming to 9 Six Flags Coasters
It took so long according to her that the ride itself shut down and had to be reset.

VR coming to 9 Six Flags Coasters
No upcharge according to the poster (mutual friends with IBEW_Sparky and me) and not required. Speaking to her in the group chat now.

BGW 2017: Coaster Announced; YOU Choose the Name
My vote was for Invadr. Good to see a GCI being built instead of an RMC for once!

Kings Island Resort After it Closed
The other night, I saw the episode of "The Partridge Family" set at Kings Island for the first time. A lot of scenes that I saw were filmed at the Kings Island Resort. Did not know Johnny Bench had a cameo as a waiter. Any updated pictures of the demolition itself?

Coasterstock 2016
I've registered for the event and the 1:00pm Beast tour.

The Legacy of Arrow Development Lives On
I recommend any coaster or theme park enthusiast to check out this documentary as it was very informative. I highly enjoyed it. Did not know Dana Morgan's father was one of the founders of Arrow Development.
