  1. All the news stations usually stop by within a few weeks of opening day, so we'll know more then.
  2. Yes. silver2005, avoiding one word posts.
  3. I'm okay with ride and park names, but the stuff posted above is starting to get weird... Anything above 4 letters that isn't a ride/park name is getting a wee bit obsessive.
  4. ^No, I meant that in comparing 2 off-seasons that had no new rides added and KI chose to wait on announcements. IDK what else is going on at the park. I mean, it could be. They also didn't announce or add anything in 2008 when they were prepping for Diamondback. But, we also have different management than those past events. This could be something completely different.
  5. I mean, IIRC, they didn't announce the RHoFG until later in that particular off-season as well, in a season that had no other major additions besides Banshee prep.
  6. X-Base is disqualified for lack of restrooms. Duh.
  7. Since when was this stuff turned into acronyms?
  8. ^If we could bring back the bakeries, then all would be right with the world.
  9. ^Add a few non coasters to that list like Drop Tower, Delirium and WindSeeker.
  10. International Street- one of the most notable entrances in any amusement park with some spiffy music to boot. It may not have as much charm as it used to, but it still gets a smile out of me when I enter and leave the park. Also home of Off The Charts!
  11. The last time the river was this high was 1997 and I think this year's flood surpassed that. I drive by it all the time, and I'm hearing one of the major roads that goes downtown (US 50) is flooding in spots. I've never seen that before. We're in good googly moogly territory now.
  12. ^Now 100% natural.
  13. With the quality of KI's food department, let's not try steak.
  14. Might I remind you of issues with Intamin's in the past, which include but aren't limited to- - Broken cables and chains - Massive redesigns of large track sections - Rides that are rare to open on time - Log flumes disengaging lifts, falling backwards and capsizing - Rider ejections And after all that, they have the audacity and nerve to say that they are an acceptable part of the industry and have little to show of any improvements with their installments overseas, nor have they had any innovations lately. B&M doesn't stoop that low. Show me something B&M has done that comes close to that list that wasn't human error. I'll wait (I'll save you the time, there aren't any). And say what you want about their ride quality in terms of experiences, but they have a second to none safety record. I'd rather have that than an under-designed ride, whether it'd be the ride experience or safety equipment.
  15. To all you guys wanting Intamins- are their designs really worth the hassle to the park that they bring? Many of us have posted time and time again the problems that come with Intamins, why do you look past that in terms of what direction you think the park will actually go if they go for a giga? You all know it'll be a B&M. I'd put money on it.
  16. ^Is there another reason other than an expired contract that made KI take out the Dinos? Your words make me think there's more to it. We all knew from day 1 it wasn't a permanent thing unless I missed something, right?
  17. Somewhere, Terpy is cringing at all the free basketballs likely being distributed at this event.
  18. In regards to that picture- I live about as close and as high up from the Ohio River as Kings Island is to the Little Miami River, and I get mass fog of the Ohio all the time this time of year.
  19. ^It appeared a year or 2 after KI's did and I imagine had a similar contract, so I'd put a lot of confidence in that rumor. They should be exiting the other CF parks within the next 2 years or so.
  20. Just to prove it had trims since day 1- here is a POV from 1979 (as evidenced by the lack of tunnel on the helix). The skid brake trims are all in the same places as the magnetic ones (sans the helix but I imagine they added them shortly thereafter, I believe they were added after the park staff and design crew took it for a test ride).
  21. I'm shoehorning this trip in here, which is, me likely going on a trip with UC to their NCAA tournament site since they look like they'll be a high seed, which, lets the committee keep them close to home. I know what I'm doing if they go to Pittsburgh, but I could use some hotel suggestions if they end up in Nashville. I hope they don't go to Detroit though...
  22. I also didn't realize how thin the single rail was going to be. That should be a weird and possibly unnerving aspect, especially with all those insane elements.
  23. If you have to go to a wheel seat, the front of the car are slightly better than the back.
  24. They look slightly cramped as well, or at least a bit claustrophobic.
  25. Here's what RailBlazer's trains will look like. From CGA's Facebook page.
