  1. I do maybe 1-2 gung ho ride marathon days at KI a season, usually 1 using FLP, and that's it. I sometimes don't mind going slower or even waiting in line, especially for KIC meet ups, plus I spread out my visits. I think I would get tired and kind of spoiled of the park if every visit was with FLP. If you go through my TR's, I pay a lot of attention to park atmosphere (even at KI, I love any and all spontaneity during visits), and being a psych major, I like to people watch as well, not to mention taking in a few shows (coughOffTheChartsHornSectioncough). In short, I definitely wouldn't go for this.
  2. ^Both CA parks announced coasters on the same day though.
  3. I just realized that KI must really be going cheap since CF even convinced Knott's to announce the same time as the rest of the chain. Knott's usually does its own thing and announces kinda separate from the eastern parks. I was pulling for that Boomerang to go to MIA though. Also disappointed Dorney didn't get anything either (more so since I'm going there next season).
  4. Out of left field, Knott's is getting a Gerstlauer Infinity Coaster called Hangtime, something similar to Smiler at Alton Towers but with a third of the inversions (5). 150 ft, 57 mph, a holding brake at a 60 degree angle, 96 degree drop. Similar trains to Smiler (4 cars, 4 across). Still waiting on renderings as they didn't show them on the live stream via Facebook. Its light aqua blue track (think Invertigo's track) with white supports. EDIT: Here it is. https://www.knotts.com/explore/hangtime
  5. Cue Goble melt down in 3, 2, 1...
  6. But its never been done at 2 separate parks before...I think.
  7. ^So we now have sequel rides? silver2005, asking questions.
  8. BTW, it's pretty much confirmed that KBF's new ride is a coaster since CF said there'd be 4 coasters and 3 have been announced, and no way is it going to Kings Island. I was pulling for MIA to get Knott's Boomerang...
  9. My only problem with Twisted Timbers is that it tries to do too much in too little of a space later in the layout, similar to my criticism of Storm Chaser.
  10. Hopefully they solve the issue of only having 8 riders per train at some point.
  11. The parks must be slowiy adding them on their respective websites then.
  12. Fun fact- both RMC conversions for CF will be the first of the RMC Iron Horse conversions to make the layout longer than the original. Which means SIX has been cheapening out.
  13. ^I went through some of the bigger Iron Horse conversions like New Texas Giant and Iron Rattler just to double check, and those are still indeed 48".
  14. Some CF parks are whipping out a Pre-K pass for 2018. 3-5 year olds will get complimentary admission. https://www.valleyfair.com/tickets-passes/pre-k-pass https://www.worldsoffun.com/tickets-passes/pre-k-pass https://www.dorneypark.com/tickets-passes/pre-k-pass https://www.carowinds.com/tickets-passes/pre-k-pass https://www.kingsdominion.com/tickets-passes/pre-k-pass Thoughts? EDIT: It appears to be a chain wide promotion.
  15. It's gonna be a while before we know what's up at Knott's. Their announcement is 8 pm Pacific time/11 pm Eastern time.
  16. Looks like the smaller CF parks are starting this Pre-K pass (as stated under Dorney's entry) where 3-5 year olds get complimentary admission. Valleyfair and WOF are also promoting them. EDIT: CGA's announcement is now starting. SR1 might stand for single rail, so they may be getting something similar to SFFT (yep, RMC Raptor) EDIT2: Knott's is announcing today (found a confirmation on TPR)
  17. There's one made by Gerstlauer in Japan that did inversions first. https://rcdb.com/6453.htm
  18. Knott's might be announcing later as well as KI. They have 2018 passes up on their website with no additions mentioned, but then again, Knott's is kinda on their own schedule being open year-round and what not. They don't usually announce in August like most parks do, at least going by memory. With KI, we kinda expect little to nothing, but the rumor mills around Knott's have been speculating something sizable for next season with Boomerang gone. GCA should be coming up shortly.
  19. ^In theory anyway, in practice is a whole 'nother can of worms. DB's crew has been pretty good this year to be fair.
  20. CF parks aren't the only ones doing announcements. Silver Dollar City is up to some 2018 goodness as well. Introducing Time Traveler. The tallest (100 ft), fastest (50.3 mph) and steepest (90 degrees) spinning coaster with a 0-47 mph in 3 seconds launch, 2nd launch later in the layout, 3 inversions, just a hair over 3000 ft long designed by Mack. http://www.silverdollarcity.com/timetraveler
