  1. The original Tiques had pretty big and elaborate stations, too. I think its that big to keep the entire queue covered and be able to have multiple cars stacked in the station.
  2. Also, CF has just tore down a few other Vekoma's rather than relocate or sell them, including Knott's Boomerang and Stinger at Dorney, both of which are normally really good for relocating.
  3. The plant makes track for international projects as well.
  4. I trust RCDB as a source, so I think they'll be fine here.
  5. ^^They knew that beforehand with the forensics report from the 2006 accident. The 2007 re-furb was just CF's own band-aid approach to save it because of the kind of ride it was. Just look at how little was done for that refurb including the trains they acquired for it.
  6. Another example of Kings Island waiting to tear something down until construction on a new ride is ready to go- look at how long Son of Beast sat SBNO. They didn't tear it down until Banshee construction was ready to get going.
  7. Oh how I wish its dark ride music to re-theme Boo Blasters. Custom shed or Flight of Fear music would be gnarly, too.
  8. Same goes with taking Firehawk photos from the ground.
  9. Just a reminder- if anyone goes to the plant for pictures, do so without trespassing on their or nearby properties without permission from the respective occupants.
  10. Canada's Wonderland and Carowinds both call their 300 foot B&M's as giga coasters. Giga is also going by computer terms as another name used for hyper coasters was mega coasters, (referencing megabytes and gigabytes, hence why 400 foot coasters are often referred to as tera-coasters). The terms are only in reference to the height, not necessarily the layout.
  11. B&M has done duel stations before, but more along the lines of Firehawk's station. Its only on a few of their flying coasters, though, I can't imagine they'd not utilize it on other models. With the capacity B&M hypers offer, I don't really think 2 stations or a duel station is necessary. B&M flyers have the excuse of lengthy loading times at least. Also, you can't really say what B&M can and can't do with a giga since they've only built 2. Two is not a trend. Also also- I remember a time before Leviathan that everyone was saying B&M would never go over 250 ft. They've also been delving into different inversion and element types and shaping as well (ex. notice newer B&M's don't have the pre-drop after the lift anymore). They're certainly changing, just in more subtle ways than everyone wants them to.
  12. Concerning food- I wish Kings Island had somewhere with an actual decent burger. Juke Box's are really sub par, Reds HOFG aren't that much better.
  13. I want to keep Invertigo, I think every park should have a shuttle coaster in their lineup, and its easily the most intense coaster in the park despite its stature. I am about 50/50 on riding it and getting a rough ride out of it.
  14. Yes, I only rode it once a visit if the line was only so far, mainly due to the original OTSR's. The launch made it worth the wait though. I do miss when the video in the queue was more immersive with the hangar and the room would react to the video more. I was too short in 1996 to ride it, but got above 54" by the next season. And thank heavens Premier switched it to lap bars. One of my friends on the baseball team I was in each summer had a dad (who's since passed away) that helped build it back in the winter of '95-'96. I have the news article somewhere, I'll see if I can dig it up.
  15. I'm doing the opposite of @Oldiesmann and doing my first Holiwood Nights in place of Coasterstock. I may show up that weekend to hang with KICers though, may indulge in a Fast Lane to pass the time.
  16. @MonteCristo As for clubs, just go to their respective websites and see what each of them have to offer. A lot of members here are members of various clubs and can vouch for them respectively (including yours truly as a member of ACE), but its ultimately up to what you want out of a club.
  17. Fun fact- the US Navy and NASA also looked in on those 2 coasters opening in hopes to utilize LIM tech for the things they do.
  18. I would like to see Cedar Fair branch out to different ride manufacturers like Six Flags has. Sure B&M's are reliable, but there's plenty else out there that would make good additions to CF's ride list. I almost think CF is a bit too traditional and would like to see a more modernized approach to ride additions.
  19. Just a heads up- I heard on the local news that KI is cancelling the job fair at the park this weekend due to weather. I believe there is still something going on online though. I forgot what website was brought up.
  20. So when does the guide rail go on top? Is it embedded into the concrete as it dries or is it bolted down? I also didn't realize the track was that thick.
  21. In response to extremely specific fact checking, sometimes skewing the conversation-
  22. KI is in Ohio and BGW is in Virginia. Different states have different laws. HP has to deal with similar laws, hence why Great Bear has it's funky supports.
  23. I'm just rattling off cool elements. If CF and KI are going to drop $30 milllion+, I wanna see how much bang for the buck we can get and make it look awesome.
