    NYE at KI

The park is open until 1 and the fireworks are for everyone. https://www.visitkingsisland.com/play/events/new-years-eve-celebration
  2. Someone's never ridden any of the Justice League rides at various Six Flags parks or Ghostwood Estate at Kennywood.
  3. ^I have a sister who can remember vivid things from over 2 decades ago. Some people just have photographic memory.
  4. Wouldn't it be EFT (early/exclusive food time)? Unless they've found a way we can ride food...
  5. ^Agreed with the route. Considering I-Street is still the main thoroughfare in and out of the park and a good chunk of those people head straight, using the paths that run by the fountain would pretty much shut down I-Street for a parade which you don't want near the main entrance.
  6. I'd trust B&M with any prototype. All of their first coasters of each type they've introduced performed well. They do their homework when developing rides and have a stellar track record in terms of reliability. B&M flyers do have a bit better of capacity and can also have duel loading stations like Firehawk did, but like their dive coaster cousins IMO, aren't very exciting unless KI goes for a decently large one. Superman: Ultimate Flight at NJFTP is my least favorite B&M.
  7. See that floral structure in front? That used to be a fountain, at least through the mid-late 90s.
  8. To @pianoman's disappointment, there also used to be a small fountain in front of Festhaus.
  9. I plan on one day at each including BGW. With the shorter drive between Doswell/Williamsburg and Charlotte, I may hang out in downtown Charlotte before heading to Carowinds. If I go ahead and add Dollywood, I plan at least 3 days in Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge including the GSMNP, downtown Gatlinburg, and at least 2 alpine coasters. Also, a round of putt-putt.
  10. I think its more a matter of being practical to not do Fast Lane for Winterfest than anything else. Rides aren't really the main feature, thus, its not necessarily the best use of a Fast Lane program.
  11. I just feel like the victims of Son of Beast get glossed over too much when it comes to those who constantly bring up positives without acknowledging the negatives. I'm not saying to not talk about it, I'm just suggesting people be more comprehensive when discussing it. For all the talk about how much it was an 'engineering marvel', it still that led to a few dozen people being sent to hospitals, many of whom may never and/or be unable to ride a coaster again. I don't give it that kind of credit when clearly it didn't do what it was designed to do in a safe manner. Well designed things don't have those kinds of problems.
  12. I wish people would be less cavalier when discussing Son of Beast. I realize people have a lot of interest in it and their reasons why, but I feel the supporters often cherry pick from SOB's story and detract from the big problems it actually had, and that those reasons leave it as a big black mark on the park's history.
  13. Take note creators- use less convincing roller coaster sims for your speculation.
  14. We must like having eerily similar travel plans to each other because I'm also planning a SE trip with those parks and possibly Dollywood in addition to that. If you're planning a St Louis trip the next summer, I'm gonna get suspicious.
  15. @harveyhaddixfan You could use those 2 stations and go in a straight line. There's nothing blocking that route in any way, though, the Rivertown station would have to be up high a bit to clear Diamondback's last helix.
  16. ^What do you mean? We know for certain its a B&M.
  17. While I lean heavily towards a giga coaster, I still think a floorless is still entirely plausible.
  18. Well, I'm FINALLY getting my chance to see Winterfest next Friday. Here's hoping for my first coaster snow ride.
  19. Track work on Copperhead Strike is now complete. Link
  20. That is a big thing to me in what makes International Street one of my favorite places to eat outside at the park. silver2005, who enjoys fountain ERT while eating.
  21. The changes to the water park have all been significant cosmetic/aesthetic changes.
  22. There's a lot of room around Millennium Force's island as well.
  23. @NewD4y20 Are you just inventing new ways to kneecap arguments you don't agree with now? That's all you've done to react to such posts. Also, I'd argue that any new coaster is a major coaster. They're all huge investments intended to drive up attendance and are ways to incentivize people to return. I think you underestimate what smaller rides do for parks overall. At least try to argue with people on the merits of the topic instead of inventing excuses to not address certain members' posts.
  24. I can't think of a park I've been to where the hyper coaster isn't one of, if not, the most popular ride in the park (regardless of make), and Diamondback certainly holds true to that.
