  1. I am pretty sure this has been debunked on Myth busters as well.
  2. For a second I thought you confused Racer for Raven! : )
  3. The press release states the following:
  4. I think that the $5.00 charge is fair and will be a great addition to KI. I am sure my son and daughter will love going through it and I am glad that KI decided to invest in a family attraction! Another way KI is thinking outside the box to bring in more families to the park!
  5. Sorry for the double post, but after I made the last post I figured I might as well email Paula and see if she would answer me about the speculation of the train config. I got permission to quote her email so here it is.
  6. This looks really awesome! Press release here. http://www.visitkingsisland.com/_upload/pdf/2011/PR-Dinosaurs_Alive_KingsIsland.pdf
  7. This is a good but tricky question. Original they had the 3 PTC's on Voyage. They sold 2 of the PTC's before the start of the 2010 season and only had 1. When they realized they were not ready to use the TL's for 2010, they took 1 of Ravens 2 PTC's off of it and refit it for Vogage. So then Voyage had 1 original train, and a retrofitted Raven train. Raven ran with only 1 PTC for the 2010 season. I would assume they still have the 3rd original PTC unless they sold it after the season was over last year. Can anyone confirm that? If not, I think they would only need 1 additional PTC for 2011. Whether that would be a used PTC or a brand new PTC I have no clue. The way I read the article they were getting 2 brand new PTC's for 2011?
  8. We saw how big the pieces were in the parking lot pictures, but does not seem that big in the webcam. I don't think the webcam gives us a good ratio of the size of that area! Can't wait to see it in person.
  9. Nope, I have been nervous all week from not seeing any crane activity.
  10. Yeah, can't make out what that is. Maybe it is the device that they are going to use to attach the steel pieces of WS onto the crane for setting in place? I could be totally wrong here, just speculating.
  11. I am guessing the ride experience was fine, but I wonder if the track was wearing out parts on the trains to quickly?
  12. Awesome you got such a good video of the transfer! Thanks for sharing. IndyGuy would would love to be at KI waiting on the train to be transferred to the track so he could ride it!
  13. Here ya go! http://www.visitkingsisland.com/public/fun/webcams/index.cfm
  14. It looks link anchors for hand railing and queue lines are being attached to the concrete now. I saw some hand railing earlier but not on the cam now! EDIT: There is railing on the cam right now. Who knows for how long though?
  15. I have seen several news articles now that have the following quote as a description for WS in their article. Is "twirl them around" the best description they could come up with for WS? This sounds more like a carnival ride. As a writer of the story I would think "Spinning riders at 30 mph, at a 45 degrees angle" would be more exciting and appropriate to get people excited about your story.
  16. I can not get over how fast they can pour concrete!
  17. Either way it is going to be crowded at the end of CM this season!
  18. Discussion for WS crane started yesterday in the WS thread. http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=23358&view=findpost&p=419283
  19. I am guessing this will be the last concrete pour needed for WS?
  20. Then that means you are not changing your habit!
  21. With the addition of WS, I was wondering if you plan on changing your ride habits on Racer. I chose No - I choose whichever has the shortest line
  22. I have heard some people like Pinto Beans as well! Back on Topic: I still do no think it has anything to do with SOB or about anything new in 2012.
  23. Yes. Only rode it twice, Best Ride EVER It was good when it had the 100 ft tall loop on it I didn't get to ride it with the loop in it I absolutely love the first drop, it really is the best first drop of any wooden coaster that I have ever ridden. The original trains I think rode better than the G trains, although I think I liked the G trains retraints better than the original. I did not like how they restricted your feet.
