I feel completely opposite of you, which is fine. There were several aspects that I found to be pretty amazing while watching in 2014. I truly felt each act, took me to a different dimension. I believe that it'd be another success for KI...I could definitely see it filling the theater as I witnessed at Wonderland. Edit: For those wondering, here's more information on Dimensions: https://www.productionshautvol.com/ongoing-productions/dimensions The one thing I really loved about this act aside from the things we've seen so far with Imagine and Origins, is that they added a laser aspect to it.

I'm sure part of the reason they started construction this time last year for Smokehouse is due to Soak City opening later. I don't believe Smokehouse replaced anything major. They roughly had 3-4 months to do that project With this new building in Coney, they had to raze a couple of buildings and prepare the land (which all happened before January). Late December we started to see mason work started. If this building is going to open on Opening Day...they've had roughly the same amount of time. I don't really see anything out of the ordinary for this project. I'll continue to say, they don't necessarily need to announce anything. Sometimes it's just better to let the speculation "announce" what's going on.

I fully agree with you.

I'd have to go through my list and see what exactly they are....but I've not been on Blue Fire or Helix.
-
Very out of the ordinary, but when there's nothing to announce that won't help sell passes/tickets...no need to announce.

The thing for me is the train....I really wish they would either just play music or not have spieling like was done during WinterFest. I don't want to hear someone spouting off facts about the park...I'd rather enjoy the view, listen to the music - if it's a must, and just relax. It's almost obnoxious when you are barely out of the station and you start hearing about Diamondback being the tallest, fastest and meanest roller coaster at Kings Island.

I've been on a few.

I'd love to see a color not certainly seen at KI or CP.... Maybe a true purple track and black or white track. I'd also like to see a bright green or orange track.

My issue with the Voyage is after the triple down heading back to the station...it just knocked me around too much. Never fun leaving a ride with a headache. I'm hoping with this off season track work (in that section) that it'll be a more bearable ride.

SFMM adding another tier to Gold Pass
Creed Bratton replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
It looks like Busch Gardens released a membership program today too. 3 tiers.....in the short term, it seems like a better way to visit their parks. BGW is $90 one visit...with the option to go twice, it'll be a better option financially to do it that way. -

That sucks!!!!! -
Maverick had it's fair share of downtime this past year (one of my best friends was one of the TL's there and I got a daily update lol). Millennium has it's fair share too.

Kennywood announces Thomas Town
Creed Bratton replied to PhantomTheater's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I think more of the "displeasure" that is coming from it, is that the areas being utilized for this are more historic than the other areas. -
I truly miss having a show there....it was a nice break, it was nice to be inside and the show wasn't awful!

I agree! Ye Olde Mill at Playland Park in Rye, NY is amazing! -
In regards to flat rides....have they ever announced what they received from their Japanese "hunt" for rides to rehab?

2018 Off Season Poll: What Food Item Should KI Bring Next?
Creed Bratton replied to BB1's topic in KI Polls
Festhaus really should be turned into a Harmony Hall type venue. I'd love to see a Mac n Cheese bar for sure as well as a place to get the gluten free chicken tenders they had at Coney Potato Works...they were amazing! -
@IndyGuy4KI @malem can we lock this thread so the conversations can stay in one place?

The Ridiculous Record Thread
Creed Bratton replied to SonofBaconator's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
When I worked at the park, I used to say that The Crypt was the world largest indoor Ferris Wheel. Kings Island has the most buildings converted to haunt mazes. -
As far as opinions on Gigas....that's exactly what they are....opinions. As far as popularity goes....Millennium Force, Fury 325 and Leviathan I know for sure have been popular attractions in their respective parks. I mean Millennium Force ended up giving the most rides in 2017. It doesn't truly matter if folks are coaster enthusiasts or fans of the industry. No one signed on a dotted line saying that they needed to like ____ and they have to be of a certain mind frame. That's what makes KIC a great place, not everyone has to like the same exact thing, not everyone has to have the same opinion and not everyone has to have fit into a certain mold to be a user here. To some, a Giga is their ultimate ride....to some it's a blitz coaster like Maverick...to others it's a nice family attraction. It's been rumored for KI to get a Giga for a good number of years. Those who want to speculate it is fine...as fine as it is for others to point out why they don't think it's going to happen next and/or soon, but it's not okay to belittle anyone for thinking it's going to happen because you're of the opposite mindset.
