  1. Kind of like how every thread now either becomes about the shed or the possible Giga.
  2. It was, but it was just the shredded mozzarella cheese (now that I think about it)...it just tasted off. I believe the traditional is white cheddar curds.
  3. They were okay....having eaten my fair share of poutine in Canada, the fries used at Rivertown Potato Works were not the best to use for it (being the bigger fries, just a few got gravy on them and the ones below didn't have gravy or cheese). Plus they just used the shredded cheese, they needed to use cheese curds.
  4. I'd say it's safe to assume whatever coaster that gets built taller than Diamondback, will not be marketed as the tallest, fastest and meanest coaster at Kings Island.
  5. Out of the parks acquired, Kings Island. Cedar Point is the flagship park...that's to be expected. But that doesn't mean that the coasters they have installed as of late are the absolute best out there and/or of high quality.
  6. I didn't realize Cedar Fair placed rides in parks more because of onsite resorts. That must be why we haven't received that Giga Coaster yet because we don't have a resort! I shoulda known ;-)
  7. I don't necessarily care if there is the Mac n Cheese at the new location...however, I'll hope there is a Mac and Cheese Bar close...that way I can bring it over and sit on the porch
  8. I can assume KI will announce the Cirque Show when it makes business sense...however, I highly doubt that they're going to announce any additional shows. You'd be surprised but there are folks who literally go to KI for the shows (sometimes it's a big crowd I see visiting shows after shows). There are some who don't ride any rides either. It's extremely disheartening that the park isn't pulling more local talent than they currently do. There are some extremely talented folks in the Cincinnati Region as @silver2005 said. I'll get off my soapbox now...but I can definitely say with 100% certainty...I'm extremely disappointed.
  9. But why? Why should we expect the typical. I’m quite aware most of the WF entertainment was contracted out. That doesn’t mean KI can’t hold the same standard. I mean, going to see Lusty Lil’s at CP I can say that is such a high quality show. Why can’t KI have the same quality? Why can’t thet have more shows? Aside from a Cirque show, I doubt we’ll see anymore shows announced. You know, because of the typical. Most here won’t get why the lack of shows is a let down.
  10. It's still a part of the experience though. I'm not really worked up, just let down. I can understand not releasing the show in the KI Theater, but you'd think they'd announce everything else all together.
  11. How does that explain Cedar Point having 14 shows and Valleyfair having 10? You'd think with the "corporate greed" we always hear about when it comes to Cedar Point (oh they're charging for lockers, charging for Fast Lane, etc.) they'd have less shows if they really wanted you out in the park spending money. Cedar Point has 14 shows and how many rides? Having that many shows works for them. Why can't it work for us? I feel like we're getting gipped. Don't get me wrong, I love the rides at Kings Island and there have been multiple years where I saw maybe 3 shows or less....but after WinterFest, I grew a hope that we'd see quality shows during the year and more of them. I then think of a few folks I know that love shows but can't ride the rides. Two of the shows are Peanuts shows, geared toward kids...for most adults that'd get quite old, pretty quick. Just doesn't seem like there is a good balance.
  12. You're barking up the wrong tree (see what I did there?) with the dog shows. I'm not a fan of a show being outside during the summer with dog performers. WinterFest had quality and quantity, so why would it be wrong to wish for the same during the regular season? I don't know, maybe I was being a bit unrealistic hoping for shows that weren't just revues and/or something we haven't been seeing over the past few years. Part of my displeasure with what I'm seeing for the entertainment line up as it stands now is that with my experience working in entertainment and theater, I'm seeing show spaces not used to their full potential, I'm seeing shows that are updated but with just an overlay of new songs and media packages.
  13. Just looked and Cedar Point just posted they have 14 shows for the operating season.....
  14. Re-read what I said. When parks are considering a new attraction for the future, 95% or more of the options are on the table at one point or another. Close is an extremely relative term. No matter the context of what Don said, doesn't mean it's gospel until it's in the works/confirmed. As I had stated, "there are so many sound bites out there that don't tell the whole story, until you listen to and examine the whole story." You could put your whole narrative together on why KI is getting a Giga or a Dark Ride based on sound clips...but that doesn't mean it's true.
  15. Hate to kill it for you @Hawaiian Coasters 325, but they constantly talk about different concepts/ride ideas for options each and every year. Just because it was said at No Coaster Con last year doesn't mean it's a hint as the next thing. There are always options. Rob Decker and folks from Cedar Fair travel to IAPPA, attend various meetings and network with a bunch of people in the industry. They get pitched ideas all of the time, they look at different options all of the time and they definitely pick out possibilities throughout the different ride portfolios, but that definitely doesn't mean all options are going to come to light. You should take a step back and look at the whole picture. There are so many sound bites out there that don't tell the whole story, until you listen to and examine the whole story.
  16. Well, color me disappointed. I'm hoping there are more shows to add to this list. Of the parks with shows announced: KD has 9 Dorney has 8 Valleyfair has 10 Knott's has 6 While their lineups may not be completely full either, 5 shows (outside of the Fireworks) is kind of disappointing especially after the crazy amount and quality of shows at WinterFest. Really hoping there is more coming.
  17. I can't agree more with @TombRaiderFTW. I mean I'm indifferent. I like the shed....but I could do without it. I know on the over 50 some rides this past year on it, I always found something new in the shed, whether it was there at the beginning or not. As far as them changing the screens for Halloween Haunt and WinterFest....is the cost of having the animations made up again by Holovis and programmed by IOE really worth it? Not to mention, both companies likely had other projects to do. It's not like they finished up on Mystic Timbers and were sitting around waiting for another project to pop up.
  18. @jcgoble3 I was seriously ready to beat you when I read this! Haha Good one!

  20. I like the concept that @GigaLover shared. While I don't personally think that's the location we'll see a Giga come to, I like how the user made it work for the area. I love the multiple tunnels, although I'd rather see just a couple tunnels that are a bit longer.
  21. They've already got an Elevator. New 2 years ago I believe. The last time I was up there when A/C was warranted, it didn't feel too bad.
  22. Barrel Ride at CP is great....I like the foot massagers at KI...need to remember to bring quarters.
  23. Looking at the 2017 map, it was listed as International Restaurant (Banquet Facilities Only) For the 2018 map, it is listed as International Restaurant. I can't say if I think it's a clue or not that it'll be open, but I can say I hope that it would be.
  24. Yeah you mentioned it about 5-10 posts above this post.
  25. I'd rather see it from the bottom up while in the park.
