  1. I can agree with that. It paved the way for sure on ways not to do things for innovation in the wooden coaster world.
  2. They pushed the envelope too far. They apparently did something right and knew how to build coasters if they've got 6 coasters still in operation. No matter what, it was attempted to hit 200 feet before technology was really ready for it on a wooden coaster. All I am saying is that RMC while they are a reputable company...they just broke into the 200' range...their technology is likely not ready for the 300' range. If it's attempted to rush into a new "record" for something without the technology being ready, it can become dangerous to the companies involved/riders involved/parks involved. FYI...use the multi-quote option.
  3. They literally just got into the 200’ range. I’d rather them not jump up to 300’ just to break some records. I seem to remember another coaster that was built to go to the next level to break some records and it didn’t turn out well....what was the name of that? Son of a b.....
  4. Professor Delbert's Rivertown Fling! Professor Delbert's Miami River Tire Swing!
  5. Really looking forward to the event and love that they added a pre-check in this year!
  6. Honestly @JubJester my first visit was in 2010....the visit after that was in 2015....that transformation that the park saw between those two seasons was amazing. Even seeing the transformation from 2015 to 2016 and then from 2016 to 2017 was pretty amazing in my eyes.
  7. It's worth noting that some folks leave mid day either on Friday or Saturday to go take naps. I find myself enjoying the entire aspect of the event...but can understand going for 32 hours isn't for everyone. I will say that the tours, ERT and guest speakers shouldn't be missed.
  8. I don't visit Carowinds a ton, but I really am loving seeing the transformation of this park each time I go back.
  9. Absolutely....you just attach a thing to the crane and then attach the thing to the ride and walllah! Definitely isn't extremely easy....but picking up rides and moving them can happen, ala Firehawk/Dominator/etc. I'd say it has to be semi "easy" (relatively) to move flat rides...see Carowinds refreshing their kids area and moving some rides) Do I think it's a reality for them to move Congo Falls and/or BLSC? No...at least not in the near future.
  10. Removed to open up the beach front....as part of the expanded boardwalk and to be honest...removed because it was awful to look at as well as over welcomed it's stay.
  11. I honestly would love to see it moved to Rivertown.... 1) it'd be better on guests having all water rides in one area...no need to go across the park to go to the next one while in wet clothes 2) It'd open up Action Zone more 2a) would be a great place to move BLSC 3) I feel like it could really refresh the plot of land that the Crypt building sets on.
  12. Mandatory showers for everyone before the ride!
  13. Found a report from 2001 on an injury from SOB: https://ridesdatabase.org/sites/default/files/accident_reports/OH_904303.pdf Decided to request information through the state (public record) on the incidents in 2006 and 2009.
  14. Actually, question about it @King Ding Dong what was the best part of it...the views you got from being up top or the ability to cross the park from the HB area to Oktoberfest area?
  15. Where do you suggest finding this book? Looked at the library catalog and it's not even registered in the network......Amazon sells it for $50-70 which is out of my price range for a book.
  16. Is the 2018 season here yet?

  17. How is SV themed? We don't really have any evidence that there will be actual theming on the ride...unless you're talking about the story which I understand what you're saying.
  18. I'm thinking it was a breakdown in material.....sun exposure probably doesn't help. The person who I saw the original picture from (works in maintenance) has stated that they tried to fix the seats as well as having 3rd parties trying to improve them with no success. Can anyone photoshop the seats to be black? @MDMC01 I highly doubt they'd get rid of the stadium style seating....that'd have to reconfigure the programming for the station, they'd have to get new chasis, and they'd have to reconfigure the PLC system. Apollo's Chariot at Busch Gardens Williamsburg does have black seats on it....there are quite a few B&Ms that have black or dark seats. 19. The original photo came from a maintenance worker on Facbeook in a group. It's fair to assume we'll be seeing the black seats on Diamondback in 2018. They've attempted to have the orange seats cleaned/fixed/etc. by those in maintenance and 3rd parties and the damage is too far gone. There are several B&M Coasters that have either black or really dark colors on their seats. I'd rather not see anyone wear booty shorts anyway...so if they do...serves 'em right for getting their buns toasted.
  20. While I'll likely ride Twisted Timbers before I ride Steel Vengeance, I'm most looking forward to that, as I've watched the construction pretty heavily for it.
  21. Haven't heard anything. That's odd though.
  22. I cannot agree with you enough on this. I love being able to eat outside when I want to...but I'd also like to eat inside when it's just too hot or the weather is a little bit too damp. It's not fun trying to eat your food while it's raining.
  23. Don’t forget that the regular pass doesn’t include admission to Haunt or Winterfest. The regular pass also doesn’t include parking. The numbers of passes are high at KI. I couldn’t imagine the PR nightmare if they limited the amount of gold passes they sold.
