  1. I totally agree.....well not about the basketballs...but I honestly find it a pain to go to Coney from Rivertown but having to pass through the I-Street area and/or WinterFest way.
  2. I wouldn't be surprised if more rides were added next year....to help spread out the crowds...it has been quite interesting to see the rides open having their queues overflow into the midways.
  3. Not really....Kings Island doesn't bank those fees. That would be Accesso. Most parks have fees for online purchases. Most anything has a fee for online purchases. No one forces you to purchase anything on Kings Island's website....you can just pay more overall if you pay at park. $6 or 99 cents still is typically cheaper than what you pay at the park.
  4. Purchase online before going to the park to try to do the buffet. It's extremely popular and has a few blocked days.
  5. Did they ensure that you weren't with a group in the regular line? Because if they were doing that for the SRL that's stupid and isn't against the use of that line. The point of the SRL is to fill spaces and increase capacity...doesn't matter if you are with a group or not as long as you understand that your group will not be seated together and possibly not on the same train. I don't understand why this is still an issue, not to mention it's very likely that the SRL will not be here during the regular season with the FL+ line coming back. It's temporary for WinterFest. Personally, I get enough rides during the regular season so I may be of different thinking that riding during WinterFest shouldn't be the priority.
  6. @Rustbucket heading down there just after Christmas...anything that is a don't miss at WinterFest Carowinds Edition?
  7. Looks like you had a great time! I'm looking forward to checking their version of WinterFest out soon!
  8. I can't say I'm upset to see it go...although it was my 91st coaster, so I'm not too sentimental over it haha. I just don't find those coasters enjoyable...I'll ride them but eh. I hope that Dorney does get something in the realm of thrill ride soon!
  9. FYI, Mystic has slipped to #2 behind the haunted mine drop...go vote
  10. Honestly, it's whatever you think will work for the price point and how many events you'll attend with those groups. ACE overall is a good group for national events, but the price can be a bit steep for some. GOCC and Coaster Crew are more affordable and have great "local" events. I have been a member of all three, although ACE was a temporary membership when they offered it in 2012. It didn't fit where I thought the club would be socially so I moved on. I do work with Coaster Crew as the discount coordinator for discounts to a good number of parks and attractions near some of our events.
  11. Part of the reason the 2018 season schedule hasn't been release is that our 2017 season is not over.
  12. Looking at the original question at hand in the thread title.....no standup coasters are not dead....as they were never truly living creatures......
  13. It was mashed potatoes with the skins, stuffing, sweet potato casserole, salad, mac and cheese and possibly something else...but I'm not remembering.
  14. That episode of ghost hunters is so inaccurate too...they did a good job at not investigating actual areas there have been reports of activity.
  15. I've had issues with my front gate photos actually linking to my pass. None of the ones from this past weekend showed up at all :'( which is frustrating because the ones from opening night didn't either and I had to go get it fixed.
  16. Not every Cedar Fair park has a Giga there buddy.....most of the major parks do....but Knotts and KI don't. I don't want to say that KI is late to the party when it comes to new kinds of coasters....the park is more conscious for who visits the park and the business needs.
  17. You've got to click on map when looking at attractions, seasonal dining, etc. It's also found here (when you click explore, directions and map), just have to clip download map.: https://www.visitkingsisland.com/explore/directions
  18. Typically folks will use the Kings Island website to see the map for this info.
  19. A group of us have during the KIC meetup....it was enjoyable...would have been better had they actually had turkey that evening.
  20. It will probably be packed up and used for next year....they typically don't put "current" merchandise on clearance/discount the year it comes out. If anything, I could see them next year adding some of the items to Sugar Plum Sweets at a discount.
  21. While they don't have the same amount of associates as they do during the normal season, I've been made aware by a few folks in entertainment (actors in the shows) that some shows are contracted....so I'm assuming the cost is higher for staffing at least in that department.
  22. I think Racer and Woodstock Express would be great additions!
  23. I don't think it truly matters to anyone here aside from the OP whether or not he could explain it in a job interview. I don't think it truly matters to anyone here aside from the OP whether or not he'll regret it in 5 years. It was the OP's prerogative to get the tattoo and it literally affects 0 of us that he has it, so we shouldn't even be worrying about either things.
