Depends on the ROI you are looking for. Small short term investment that looks good but is a minimal change/cost or are you looking for a big skyline changing investment and the ROI involved. Gatekeeper was a huge change and the park enjoyed the ROI of it, so much so that the park is doing similar investments at other parks (see Carowinds new front gate). This change seems very minimal to me. No rebuilding of track, no destruction costs. Just some possible station changes, new trains, and paint.

Geauga Lake: From Icon to Eyesore.
shark6495 replied to PhantomTheater's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
It would almost certainly cost too much money for CF to pursue that sort of renovation to the park. It doesnt appear to fit into where they are heading as a company. -
I know what you mean I mean I to am only 2 years out of grad school... You did mean currently, right ?

That is correct. Usually a name of said person. But if that would get the person fired, then well maybe the information shouldnt be shared. EDIT: See below VVVVVVV

Now that you mention it. That building does look like the corner of the first aid area. Were the planters always there next to the Elephant/Snoopy Statue? If not I think you may have figured it out. Thanks!

1. Well according to many articles on the interwebs and posted on here, Norway has not paid for anything since 2002. I think GYK even said that if they would have kept funding the area, they could probably have a say in it. Its like being upset that a car you used to own was repainted. Yes Disney did offer them the opportunity to re-up advertising in an area of the park that will be the most popular. 2. Disney has stated through its moves and press releases that they wanted to move the big crowds for Elsa and Anna out of MK by putting a meet and greet in another place. So I dont think this is a rush decision to put the ride in a part of Epcot that the movie was supposed to be based in. 3. Aladdin and Jasmine can be found in Morocco https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/entertainment/epcot/character-meet-aladdin-jasmine/ 4. I feel you may be on your own with that one. Many people visit WDW and DL to see things that are up to Disney standards. I loved seeing Tom Morrow, walking through the Haunted Mansion, or even walking Main Street because of the Disney magic. Seeing below average Disney rides is not what many find entertaining. Side Note here are a listing of Disney Cartoon CHaracters you can meet in Epcot Lands Aladdin and Jasmine: Morocco Belle: France Donald DUCK : Mexico Snow White: Germany Whinnie the Pooh, Tiger, Mary Poppins, Alice (from Wonderland): United Kingdom Mulan: China The point is, WDW Epcot is about learning about the countries, but to pretend this is the first time Disney is putting a cartoon character in the land is absurd.

Could it be because Atlantis was a major flop? http://jimhillmedia.com/editor_in_chief1/b/jim_hill/archive/2003/08/11/165.aspx You may enjoy and watch Atlantis, but I could not tell you anything more about that movie other than Michael J Fox (maybe?) was the voice of the guy who somehow was leading an expedition to find the lost city, or something. I think people have a tendency to hate things that are popular in a proportionate amount. If Frozen did poorly, it would get the kind of hate it is getting. But because its so wildly popular with people of all ages, has catchy music, has influenced pop culture, and has found a way to really get that sweet spot of taking over, more people hate it. We will take a look at Atlantis vs Frozen Box Office: Frozen: 400 Million Atlantis: 84 Million (to date) I think we could look at CD sales, merchandise sales, etc. But its all Frozen. Disney didnt force this on us. It was a solid film that hit people in the right way. Similar to Lion King, Aladdin, Little Mermaid, Etc.

WCPO Story - KI may have violated Federal Law regarding disabilities
shark6495 replied to disco2000's topic in Kings Island
A simple question that's not always simple. If we are talking about sidewalks it's pretty simple. You lower the curb to a ramp so all people are able to safely make it out of the street. At a restaurant it's so everyone has an opportunity to order and eat food (Braille, picture menus, have someone read it, etc). AAC devices for the non-verbal, chairs for the non-mobile, etc. But when it comes to an entertainment company that advertises thrill rides..... What's reasonable to you and I may not be reasonable to someone else. Heck not all paraplegics are the same so that even muddies the water some more -
WCPO Story - KI may have violated Federal Law regarding disabilities

Not sure where this convo is going. It's a very difficult line to walk. We fight for the rights of all people abled and disabled to experience the same events in similar or the same way. At the same time we accept that there are limits about what can or cannot be possible. Boiling this down to a one liner about lawyers or forged documents or he said / she said does a great disservice to the conversation that needs to be happening. It's easy to say nope can't ride sorry we can doctor the experience or vice versa if you just change this part..... -
This message board, like the rest of the internet, is a big echo chamber. We hear/read the info that we like to see/believe and it makes our opinions grow deeper. If we are to look at it purely from an economic side, the ride is aging and the company needs a fresh way to bring people to that park. This move is no different than putting Aladdin and Jasmine in their land in Epcot. From an artistic point, yes it's sad but it's not a museum piece. One day all rides will give their last rides to be replaced by something that some will say is a shoddy replacement. There are a few of us who despise that Stunt Coaster replaced the Antique Cars. But we tend to ignore the price of gas, and maintenance of those vehicles. When SC leaves there will be a generation or 3 that will mourn its loss and hate it's replacement. Movies like Frozen do not happen all the time. If Disney wanted to put this in New Fantasyland that would be great, but they have a land that is in need of an influx of new blood and energy. If the Norway Tourism board was concerned about the way they are being represented in Disney then I would have expected them to be making monetary donations or payments to help upkeep that land. Odds are this will be a great ride experience that many will enjoy.

^ yup can't agree more.

Yea when we go to Disney next year baby shark will be wearing a leash backpack but that's more incase he let's go of my hand and tries to run off or if someone tries to snatch him.
-
I saw a parent with a leash back lead him like a dog, he jerked him left or right etc. versus keepin the kid from running away... That type of control is what I was speaking of
-
That's the ride I was talking about in another thread^. Where was that ride located? Also the old vintage photo looks different with out the season pass booths built

Backlot Stunt Coaster Special Effects Removed
shark6495 replied to Italian Job 2005's topic in Kings Island
I wonder if preventative Maintenon would have helped keep the effects longer or if it just really tore up the track -
It looks like it says "Intern"
