  1. Probably helped there were people actively on site versus over the night or some such
  2. And if I remember correctly, the photo spots were taken care of very well as well. Paint and foliage all looking good...
  3. Yes modern tech has fixed the issue with the speed. It is just a modified version of the tech used when the ride opened.... Trims. Laterals in the Helix probably feel less intense since you are older and stronger. The Beast is as wild as it once was when it opened.
  4. Did it fall while in motion? If it did I would probably classify it as flying off. If it was not in motion then it broke off...
  5. Many may not remember when AT opened it was a very very long line. An hour or two. That was with both sides open and shuffling people through. Both sides playing the same movie. Near the end it was a 10-15 minute wait, usually with only one side open or each side playing a different movie. It was not like they removed 1 whole side cutting into a very popular ride
  6. Serious question, I brought up earlier and never really got an answer. How long does this version of KK have to survive to be considered a success? I mean they have managed to keep the lights on all summer, is that a victory? Will 2 years be enough or do we need 5? What if it's sold, is that a success? Does it need to turn a profit? KI is a success and many would say it is even if tomorrow it was announced that KI would never reopen. GL was a very successful park. Even in the last few years. So the What about the new KK
  7. It's like how certain car companies pay or give funding to certain awards. They are a jay dee award winning vehicle but don't recognize Car and Driver awards or US News and Reports.
  8. Not sure why that is a fail. More like a political statement. She did what she thought would get her message across. An epic fail would be if she dropped the bucket on her head or something.
  9. How do I know if Sam is returning on my night. I will be there with my Sister and she does get frightened easily, unless of course the actors know her name...
  10. I love KIC, I really do. But if we were to go to a paid site, I would miss you guys and the wonderful discussions. I already pay over $650 a year for memberships linked directly to my licensure. There is a reason I'm not a paid member to other sites. I just don't have it (the money and the want to pay to be part of it)
  11. TBH the only stand-up I have ridden was KC. Other than that, never have I been on one. Its also the only coaster I ever grayed out on.
  12. Then you have created a monster thing. Why why why It's an interesting theory. If a coaster gets a new name and
  13. Not sure but when I read it originally it wasn't rude. The thing about Internet forums is this. You read into what you want it to be. If you interpret something as rude when in all honesty it's just a statement that's on you. It's not like boddah said "hey stupid...."
  14. Same can be said for a broom. If you replace the handle then a few years later replace the broom part is it still the same broom.
  15. There was a family that had little ones (about 6/7 years of age) that went through Board to Death and Delta Delta Die. I think it all depends on your little one. If shes fearless, then I think you will be okay for all of the ones from last year (not sure about this years crop). Then again, you could always just hit one maze here and there and do your night rides. The scarezones are pretty awesome as well for the little ones who are fearless. Wider walkways so you are not as confined. Also it allows you to see a bit more than you would in a room.
  16. Also, besides the building near The Beast and maybe the one in Action Zone, which buildings were BUILT exclusively for Haunt?
  17. Last year, we went right when it opened. During the lighted hours it wasn't too bad. A few actors out and about but nothing too bad. But once it started gettingn dark and the fog hit, it got spookier.
  18. It's all cycles. The big monster films of the silent age, the creature features in the 50s and 60s, the unknown real life horror movies of the 70s, the slasher films of the 80s, the torture porn and found footage of the last 20 years. Each era had small pockets of other things. A fun thing is to watch the George Romero zombie movies. Each movie is made with a certain fear built in. Over commercializations, isolations, etc
  19. Don't forget found footage movies are cheaper as well. Not as many rigs needed, not as many cameras needed. Don't need to pay as many make up or cg people. Plus the fear of the unknown. That's why people like them. That's why studios like them because it makes a bunch of money. If movie A costs 95million to make because of make up etc, and makes 135 the studio would be happy. If movie B costs 35 million but only makes 95 million, the studio would be very excited.
  20. I kind of don't like the idea of not being able to run back to my car, but oh well. Not worth fighting a mountain for
  21. So it would be a floorless standup or just a sit down floorless? Are there such things ?
  22. Yea I'm not sure what the deal with it the one and only time I saw it down. They closed the line etc. but after eating and riding two times on The Bat it was reopened no harm no foul
  23. I have only seen it down 1 time and it was down for about 20-30 mins?
  24. Could someone anyone please point me in the direction of a standup that has been made floorless... I'm confused and what it will look like
  25. "Man this is the longest pause whenever." "Dude, I hate this ride, I did the county thing you said, and we are still here" "Be cool dude" 5 minutes later "so then I was like.. ahhhhhhhhh"
