  1. Definitely a fan of the color scheme, excited to finally ride a floorless. However, the name seems a very odd to me. I'm not a fan of that so aspect of the transformation. It sounds like somebody is sneezing. Or a baby that doesn't know how to speak yet. Also, they didn't announce the announcement.
  2. That is really cool. I love seeing what the park looked like before my time.
  3. Hey, how about the username of the OP? Interesting...
  4. Yeah there was a bit of an exaggeration in there. I'm not going to hijack this thread with baseball talk, but he is hitting .214 this year. His usual 30-90 season is 16-61 with less than a dozen games left. I will give him the benefit of the doubt for this season and take into account the knee issue, but if it continues next year that production isn't worth the contract. Especially with all the contract decisions coming soon.
  5. Regarding the amusement park apathy discussion... For me, I feel like I almost take parks for granted during the summer. I attend, and I have fun. I like going, but I'm not crazy about it. However, as soon as November 3rd gets here, all I will want to do is go to a park. I will think about it and miss it all the time. I think it is just the idea of wanting what you can't have, and once you can have it, you don't want it as much.
  6. Many would argue that an RMC makeover is an entirely new coaster...
  7. Null vote because I was not around for all of these eras, so I don't have a fair say. I began attending in 2009.
  8. Son of Beast had nothing to tease about. It had been standing there as a black eye on the park for years. And I doubt that they have spent much money on PR here at all. Making that video, sending a few emails, and having Tony tweet a couple times probably doesn't cost much.
  9. Both of the hybrids look like phenomenal rides. I hate to see it at the expense of classic wooden coasters, but those rides look very intriguing. I feel like the mega-loop rides belong more at county and state fairs and small family parks than at a big chain like Six Flags. I can't imagine capacity being very good one those either...
  10. And that blue circle with the questions marks comes awfully close to breaking the 11th Commandment.
  11. I wouldn't call it learning... unless having revelations about the central concepts of rides and parks is considered learning.
  12. I would say that there are categories and major variations that can help differentiate things, (Ex. woodies, inverts, stand-up, sitdown etc...) but yes all coasters are in fact coasters. I wouldn't compare WWC to Banshee though, as water rides aren't coasters. However they are both rides, so at the very central core they are basically the same concept. Get on, get off, have fun in the process Geez... I've been back at school for like 6 hours and I'm already getting philosophical and over-analyzing things.
  13. Honestly, I would say so. Yes they are different, but in the simplest form they just are smaller versions of each other- with each individual ride appealing to a different taste. And I just talked myself into understanding what you are saying. Different tastes are appealed to on different rides because each ride is unique in it's own way. Gotcha!
  14. What is that difference? I have yet to ride a B&M giga, so I don't know. It seems to me that Leviathan and Fury 325 are just bigger and faster versions of their hyper coasters.
  15. Ahh that's what I was forgetting when I went Wednesday. I thought I was forgetting something when I left the park. Oops
  16. We just got a shiny new B&M. I honestly don't expect anything other than some maintenance and minor updates (fresh paint, new signs, etc...). Anything else is icing on the cake to me.
  17. According to Twitter reports, the announcement stated that there will be a "bigger splash in 2016." When was the last time they had a water park expansion?
  18. Visible from uptown Charlotte, park revamped from from top to bottom with the new entrance plaza, more to come... Even the introduction video essentially shows a swarm flying from Charlotte to the park. And don't forget the Charlotte Hornets NBA team... It looks to me that somebody is trying to develop Carowinds into a premier destination and connect it to the local population of Charlotte. Oh wait, I think I have heard that before. What an addition to do so! This ride looks phenomenal. I'm blown away.
  19. Does anybody on here have a link to a live stream for the announcement tomorrow?
  20. There was quite a rattle in 8-4 of the purple train today. I'm not sure if it is just because of the wear and tear throughout the season starting to take effect on the ride, but it did not feel like a new ride at all.
