I believe that piece of track is headed to China for Flying Over the Rainforest. Does B&M still make their parts for Asia at Clermont? Delirium (First giant Frisbee) Son of Beast (record breaker) Screamin' Demon (first Arrow launch coaster) How many of these were under the current regime at 1 Cedar Point Dr.? And on the "family experience" discussion, Ouimet: "There's not a lot in the middle... rides that parents are on with their kids, but not solely because of their kids... This is one we are about to roll out in multiple parks, where I know a parent will have at least as good of a time as their kids. And I think that's the sweet spot." (followed my some coughing, probably allergies or something) Calm down, have a little faith. The man at the helm is a genius in this industry. He knows what he is doing- be it a family ride, a new show, or a 400 ft. looping floorless wooden coaster. Trust the guys in charge, and if you are looking to truly have FUN and not looking to point out every little flaw you can find, you will not be disappointed. End rant.

A Few Good Men? Code RED? Field of Dreams? Baseball? "Working on a special event for later this summer that will excite Cincinnati sports fans?" New for 2014: Big Red Machine: The Ride?

New straps on Dodgem

I don't really hate any rides, because I think they are all unique and what not, but my least favorite is Invertigo. I only ride that thing just to give it a shot, but because of how it beats you up, how awful the capacity is, and that it is rather boring, I usually only end up riding it once or twice a year. That being said, it sure is fun to look at!

Mack Wild Mouse 70 feet 42 MPH 1,650 feet long A la Knott's Berry Farm

I'm not sure that was the Big Blue B&M he was referring to

Well yeah, but I meant like would they serve more "amusement park style food" like funnel cakes, cotton candy, etc... Edit: Nevermind, I just saw the two decals up at the front of the truck. Oops

I wonder what kind of food it will serve... just a lot of Kings Island's cuisine or something specific? Either way, low-cost and high-reward. Great move.

I like the first Flight Deck photo with the sunset!

Any chance you could snap a few of the new wait time signs and post them in my trip report from tonight so everyone else could see what I was talking about, specifically Beast's? Thanks!

No, she did a good job avoiding me

Today while walking in Oktoberfest I hear, "Which one is Millennium?"

I took my 9 year old sister to the park today because I had been telling her for almost 2 years that I would and still hadn't gotten around to it. The crowd was typical of a summer day She had a great day, rode her favorite ride (Adventure Express) 3 times, and tried a new ride because she finally hit 54 inches, which was Flight of Fear! She loved it too! It was fun watching her drive her own bumper car for the first time too A few notes from today, in my signature bullet-point fashion: Are there new wait time signs for rides? For example, Beast had a sign that looked like it had been themed uniquely to the ride. When did this start happening? Am I just oblivious? In terms of Project 2014, it looked like there had been some dirt pushing and what not since last time I was there, but I couldn't really get a great look at it because my sister didn't want to go on Drop Tower or the Eiffel Tower. I couldn't tell ya if there was anything new or not. I did see a few maintenance trucks driving and blue shirts walking around back there today though! The access road that goes around Flight of Fear has new signs on it, styled in the same fashion of the signs on the construction fence. You can see it from the top of Adventure Express's lift hill. They read "Go Slow, Construction Zone" or something along those lines. I could see 2 of them from Adventure Express. I don't think anybody had mentioned these yet, but I don't think they matter too much. Unless maybe the construction stretches all the way out there? I'm getting sidetracked, nevermind It looks like Flight of Fear's building still has some damage on it like it did last year, but not nearly as severe. This is also visible from Adventure Express. Remember, NO CAMPING! Thanks for reading! If you have any questions or comments, feel free to ask!

Cedar Point Tips

In terms of food, make sure you try a Pink's hot dog. They're very good. And don't skip the Dodgem! You'll notice a difference between CP's and KI's pretty quickly. -
Has anybody even confirmed that there was track on 71 yet? One person, who just told us that his buddy Ron said it was a B&M Giga a few days ago, said he saw it. I'll believe it when somebody confirms it, but until then, this means nothing to me.

I'm proud of you for going out and getting it! Keep having fun and learning new stuff! Can't wait for you to get back to Ohio

I wouldn't mind a dive machine at Kings Island. It certainly would be a DIVErsion.
-
Well based on that tweet I would say that we are getting a show like Dive! at Holiday World featuring Mr. Helbig as the main performer!

I rode WindSeeker on Wednesday- Screamscape is right with this one!

I would imagine, based on what somebody else said here, that it could be to create an entrance plaza to the new coaster. Ouimet said that he loved Gatekeeper's entry plaza, and that it really adds to the ride. That big open area seems to be a great space for an entryway to a major attraction, IMO.

I was able to visit KI today because of weather issues giving me a day off from work! Like most of my trip reports, I'll keep this one short and sweet! Walk-ons on most rides, including Firehawk, Diamondback, and Vortex. I had only ridden Surf Dog once prior to today, and it is pretty fun! Seat 5-1 on Vortex did feel a little different than the others to me. Dodgem car #35 did feel a little faster to me than the others, but I didn't get to try #9. My girlfriend finally knew what B&M meant when I said something about it! I guess being annoying pays off eventually They were doing a silent walk-through of Rock n Roll Never Forgets in Festhaus today. It was interesting to see people up there dancing in sync and not hearing any music! Whatever happens with Project 2014, I am excited about it. Just a few thoughts from an impromptu trip! If you have any questions, feel free to ask, and thanks for reading!

After today's trip I can confirm that #35 did feel a lot faster than the others- didn't get to get on #9.
