  1. On cedarpoint.com, clicking the "Buy Now" button on Valravn World Premiere Weekend redirects to Good Any Day tickets rather than to the list of all daily ticket options valid those days. Promotional early season tickets are $7 less than GAD tickets. Also, this URL makes me cringe: https://www.cedarpoint.com/?promocode=singleday&?mobile=0 Yes, it could be deliberate price discrimination instead of an error, but asking guests to pay extra for what amounts to a preview weekend makes little sense. Especially with that bungled query string.
  2. Good to see that the ride reopened relatively quickly after the downtime. Not to single you out, but just so everyone remembers from last season: this site's moderators requested that posts about temporary downtime be avoided (with the possible exception of the wait times thread). Rides are designed to stop for many reasons as a safety feature, and maintenance usually gets them restarted quickly. Such occurrences generally aren't notable; when someone reads the post, the downtime will probably be over. Obviously, extended or frequent downtime (eg. Eiffel Tower being closed on Opening Day) is a different matter entirely.
  3. If KI put pepperoni under the cheese, a vegetarian might grab a slice of it inadvertently. At least it's generally served hot. That can't be said of all Ohio parks' pizza.
  4. Likely an attempt to moderate the comment firehose. The moderator probably doesn't see a repeated 2017 guess as adding to the conversation about the posted image.
  5. If I was forced to pay for tap water at an establishment, I'd be much less likely to patronize it. One of the (many) reasons why I don't have plans to visit Canada's Wonderland. Dehydration shouldn't be monetized.
  6. ^ I received free Kinzel cups of water on Opening Day. (Albeit not as many as I would have liked, given the 60min+ food lines.) Perhaps that stand was out of those, and they tried to sell you a big cup? This has happened to me at times in previous seasons; I was simply directed to another stand.
  7. ^ Guests suffering from heat exhaustion certainly aren't having their best day ever. On particularly hot days in past seasons, KI food stands have preemptively filled Kinzel cups by the dozen. Ride operators have encouraged guests to go drink one after riding.
  8. At $5/person/way (or $2.50 for age 12 & under), the price seems to compare favorably with daily CP parking.
  9. Some lights turned on & an vehicle with flashing lights on the webcam? Could have been anything. If it was a security incident, I wouldn't expect any sort of news release from the park. A couple former members of this site have been involved in trespassing incidents in past years. Hopefully nothing like that ever happens again.
  10. See also laws in some states - such as Michigan and Virginia ("Kings Dominion Law") - that preclude schools from starting early.
  11. ^ I wouldn't recommend leaving anything of value there, especially for an extended period of time. A $2 savings could quickly become a new $25 drink bottle purchase. This might be a good place to mention the water bottle refill stations, now located at the water fountains near most park restrooms. They hygienically fill bottles or cups with chilled water, without mouths or soiled drinkware touching the nozzle.
  12. When it was an hour in 2012, few people showed up for the first half most days. The next year, ERT was shortened to 30 minutes but given an additional ride. If you enjoy perk, show, ride or event and want it to stick around, the best thing to do is to make a point to utilize it.
  13. April & May typically have less than peak crowds, so the one major ride may be sufficient on most days.
  14. ^ On Opening Day, being near the front of the crowd at the front gate and power walking to Diamondback was sufficient to make the second train of the day. No running required. It should be noted that, starting June 1, multiple "adult" thrill rides will be open during ERT through the end of the season. Project 2017?

All of Soak City's attractions can be ridden with a shirt.

    Fast Pass

It's presumably to deter any fraud with Fast Lane sales or use. Some people attempt to sell counterfeit or stolen tickets. Their "customers" find themselves without their money or valid admission.
  17. I've never walked to the Sunoco plaza south of the park, but The Kings Center Dr area is an easy walk. There aren't (yet) sidewalks on much of Kings Island Dr, so you'll be walking on the grass and/or through the KI & GWL parking lots. I've tried crossing the Kings Mills Rd bridge over I-71 on foot; I certainly wouldn't recommend doing that.
  18. ^ Or you could walk it; there's a crosswalk at the GWL intersection.
  19. Many would have been very glad to wait "a couple minutes" to get food on Opening Day this year. And Goble being told not to run in the park?! Nowadays, he'd be doing the telling. How things change.
  20. ^ Try deleting the pass from the app and adding it again.
  21. The park has a list of dining plan FAQs on their website, which would be a good place to start: https://www.visitkingsisland.com/dining-plans/dining-plan-faqs With 2016 gold pass all-season dining, you can redeem up to two meals per day. After redeeming your first meal, you must wait at least 4 hours before you can redeem your second. Participating locations & menu options are listed on KI's website.
  22. Riders can be seen with their hands up on the park's own website: https://www.visitkingsisland.com/rides/Thrill-Rides-12-14-11-44/The-Beast (photo panels 2-4) To avoid any confusion, they could always explicitly add "arms down" to the lift hill spiel, a la Top Thrill Dragster. (eg. "Remain seated throughout the entire ride. Keep arms down with hands and legs inside the car at all times.")
  23. Rooted Android phones can have great battery life. My Galaxy S5 Active routinely lasts me two days before getting <20%, and I can easily replace the battery if and when it stops lasting long enough.
